Automatic deactivation
Condition A:
The warning and assist functions of the LDP
system are not designed to work under the fol-
lowing conditions:
●When you operate the lane change signal
and change the traveling lanes in the direc-
tion of the signal. (The LDP system will be
deactivated for approximately 2 seconds af-
ter the lane change signal is turned off.)
●When the vehicle speed lowers to less than
approximately 45 MPH (70 km/h).After the above conditions have finished and the
necessary operating conditions are satisfied, the
warning and assist functions will resume.
Condition B:
The assist function of the LDP system is not
designed to work under the following conditions
(warning is still functional):
●When the brake pedal is depressed.
●When the steering wheel is turned as far as
necessary for the vehicle to change lanes.
●When the accelerator pedal is applied dur-
ing LDP system operation.
●When the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)
approach warning occurs.
●When the hazard warning flashers are oper-
ated.
●When driving on a curve at high speed.
After the above conditions have finished and the
necessary operating conditions are satisfied, the
LDP system application of the brakes will resume.
Condition C:
If the following messages appear in the vehicle
information display, a chime will sound and the
LDP system will be turned off automatically.●“Unavailable Road is slippery”:
When the VDC system (except TCS func-
tion) or ABS operates.
●“Unavailable VDC OFF”:
When the VDC system is turned off.
●“Unavailable Snow mode active”:
When the drive mode select switch is turned
to the SNOW mode.
Action to take:
When the above conditions no longer exist, turn
off the LDP system. Push the dynamic driver
assistance switch again to turn the LDP system
back on.
Temporary disabled status at high tem-
perature:
If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight under
high temperature conditions (over approximately
104°F (40°C)) and then the LDP system is turned
on, the LDP system may be deactivated auto-
matically and the following message will appear
on the vehicle information display.
“Unavailable High Cabin Temp. ”
When the interior temperature is reduced, the
system will resume operating automatically.

VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE
CONTROL MODE
In the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode,
the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system auto-
matically maintains a selected distance from the
vehicle traveling in front of you according to that
vehicle’s speed (up to the set speed) , or at the
set speed when the road ahead is clear.
With ICC, the driver can maintain the same
speed as other vehicles without the constant
need to adjust the set speed as you would with a
normal cruise control system.

– On roads where the traffic is heavy or
there are sharp curves
– On slippery road surfaces such as on
ice or snow, etc.
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow,
etc.)
– When rain, snow or dirt adhere to the
bumper around the distance sensor
– On steep downhill roads (the vehicle
may go beyond the set vehicle speed
and frequent braking may result in
overheating the brakes)
– On repeated uphill and downhill
roads
– When traffic conditions make it diffi-
cult to keep a proper distance be-
tween vehicles because of frequent
acceleration or deceleration
●Do not use the Intelligent Cruise Con-
trol system if you are towing a trailer.
The system may not detect a vehicle
ahead.●In some road or traffic conditions, a
vehicle or object can unexpectedly
come into the sensor detection zone
and cause automatic braking. You may
need to control the distance from other
vehicles using the accelerator pedal. Al-
ways stay alert and avoid using the ICC
system when it is not recommended in
this section.
VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE
CONTROL MODE OPERATION
Always pay attention to the operation of the ve-
hicle and be ready to manually control the proper
following distance. The vehicle-to-vehicle dis-
tance control mode of the Intelligent Cruise Con-
trol (ICC) system may not be able to maintain the
selected distance between vehicles (following
distance) or selected vehicle speed under some
circumstances.
The vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
uses a sensor
Alocated behind the front bum-
per of the vehicle to detect vehicles traveling
ahead. The sensor generally detects the signals

returned from the vehicle ahead. Therefore, if the
sensor cannot detect the reflection from the ve-
hicle ahead, the ICC system may not maintain the
selected distance.
The following are some conditions in which the
sensor cannot detect the signals:
●When snow or road spray from traveling
vehicles reduces the sensor’s visibility
●When excessively heavy baggage is loaded
in the rear seat or the luggage room of your
vehicle
The ICC system is designed to automatically
check the sensor’s operation within the limitation
of the system. When the front bumper area
around the distance sensor is covered with dirt or
is obstructed, the system will automatically can-
cel. If the front bumper area around the distance
sensor is covered with ice, a transparent or trans-
lucent vinyl bag, etc., the ICC system may not
detect them. In these instances, the vehicle to
vehicle distance control mode may not cancel
and may not be able to maintain the selected
following distance from the vehicle ahead. Be
sure to check and clean the front bumper area
around the distance sensor regularly.
The vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is
designed to maintain a selected distance and
reduce the speed to match the slower vehicleahead. The system will decelerate the vehicle as
necessary and if the vehicle ahead comes to a
stop, the vehicle decelerates to a standstill. How-
ever, the ICC system can only apply up to 25% of
the vehicles total braking power. This system
should only be used when traffic conditions allow
vehicle speeds to remain fairly constant or when
vehicle speeds change gradually. If a vehicle
moves into the traveling lane ahead or if a vehicle
traveling ahead rapidly decelerates, the distance
between vehicles may become closer because
the ICC system cannot decelerate the vehicle
quickly enough. If this occurs, the ICC system will
sound a warning chime and blink the system
display to notify the driver to take necessary
action.
The system will cancel and a warning chime will
sound if the speed is below approximately
15 MPH (24 km/h) and a vehicle is not detected
ahead. The system will also disengage when the
vehicle goes above the maximum set speed.
See “Approach warning” later in this section.
The following items are controlled in the vehicle-
to-vehicle distance control mode:
●When there are no vehicles traveling ahead,
the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control
mode maintains the speed set by the driver.
The set speed range is between approxi-
mately 20 and 90 MPH (32 and 144 km/h).●When there is a vehicle traveling ahead, the
vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
adjusts the speed to maintain the distance,
selected by driver, from the vehicle ahead.
The adjusting speed range is up to the set
speed. If the vehicle ahead comes to a stop,
the vehicle decelerates to a standstill within
the limitations of the system. The system will
cancel once it judges a standstill with a
warning chime.
●When the vehicle traveling ahead has moved
out from its lane of travel, the vehicle-to-
vehicle distance control mode accelerates
and maintains vehicle speed up to the set
speed.
The ICC system does not control vehicle speed
or warn you when you approach stationary and
slow moving vehicles. You must pay attention to
vehicle operation to maintain proper distance
from vehicles ahead when approaching toll gates
or traffic congestion.

To turn on the conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode,push and hold the
CRUISE ON/OFF switch

When pushing the CRUISE ON/OFF switch on,
the Intelligent Cruise Control system display and
the CRUISE indicator are displayed in the vehicle
information display. After you hold the CRUISE
ON/OFF switch on for longer than about 1.5 sec-
onds, the Intelligent Cruise Control system dis-
play goes out. The CRUISE indicator stays lit.
You can now set your desired cruising speed.Pushing the CRUISE ON/OFF switch again will
turn the system completely off.
When the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF
position, the system is also automatically turned
off. To use the Intelligent Cruise Control again,
quickly push and release the CRUISE ON/OFF
switch (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control
mode) or push and hold it (conventional cruise
control mode) again to turn it on.
When the Distance Control Assist (DCA) system
is on, the conventional (fixed speed) cruise con-
trol mode cannot be turned on even though the
CRUISE ON/OFF switch is pushed and held.
To turn on the conventional (fixed speed) cruise
control mode, turn off the DCA system. See
“Distance Control Assist (DCA) system” in this
section.CAUTION
To avoid accidentally engaging cruise con-
trol, make sure to turn the ON/OFF switch
off when not using the Intelligent Cruise
Control.To set cruising speed,accelerate your vehicle
to the desired speed, push the COAST/SET
switch and release it. (The SET indicator will
come on in the display.) Take your foot off the
accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will maintain the
set speed.
●To pass another vehicle,depress the ac-
celerator pedal. When you release the
pedal, the vehicle will return to the previously
set speed.
●The vehicle may not maintain the set speed
when going up or down steep hills. If this
happens, manually maintain vehicle speed.

DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST
OPERATION

tance Control Assist (DCA) system may not be
able to decelerate the vehicle under some cir-

vehicle operation to maintain proper distance
from vehicles ahead.

when towing your vehicle or the vehicle be
placed on a flat bed truck as illustrated.

INFINITI recommends that your vehicle be towed
with the driving wheels (front) off the ground or
place the vehicle on a flat bed truck as illustrated.
WARNING
●Never tow your vehicle with the front
wheels on the ground or four wheels on
the ground (forward or backward) , as
this may cause serious and expensive
damage to the transmission. If it is nec-
essary to tow the vehicle with the rear
wheels raised always use towing dollies
under the front wheels.●When towing with the rear wheels on
the ground or on towing dollies, place
the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position, and secure the steering wheel
in the straight-ahead position with a
rope or similar device.
VEHICLE RECOVERY (freeing a stuck
vehicle)

injury or death when recovering a stuck
vehicle:
●Contact a professional towing service
to recover the vehicle if you have any
questions regarding the recovery
procedure.
●Attach recovery devices only to main
structural members of the vehicle or the
recovery hooks.
●Do not use the vehicle tie-downs to tow
or free a stuck vehicle.
●Only use devices specifically designed
for vehicle recovery and follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
●Always pull the recovery device straight
out from the front of the vehicle. Never
pull at an angle.
●Route recovery devices so they do not
touch any part of the vehicle except the
attachment point.
