Edit the user name of a paired phone, and protect the phonebook and speed dial
entries with a PIN. 1.Select a phone to edit.
2. Select an item.
The following item s are available:
• Connect : Connects the selected phone to the HFL.
• Edit Name: Enter a name.
• PIN: Enter a 4-digit PIN. Re-enter to confirm. You can select Do Not Use PIN to
remove a PIN.
• Replace this Phone : Deletes the selected phone and adds a new phone.

• Delete this Phone: Deletes the user name, call history, and phonebook.

Set HFL options and features. 1.Select an item.

The following items are available:
• Bluetooth Setup: Pairs your phone to the system.

• Bluetooth Connection: Turns the Bluetooth® connection on or off.
On : Connects your Bluetooth-compatible device to the system.
Off (factory default): Disables the feature.
• Auto Transfer : Sets whether to automatically tra nsfer a call from your phone to
HFL when you enter and turn on the vehicle.
On (factory default): Automatically transfers your call to HFL.
Off : Disables the feature.
• Auto Answer : Sets whether to automatically answer an incoming call.
On : Automatically connects an incoming call after about five seconds.
Off (factory default): Disables the feature.
• Text Message Notice : Sets whether to give an in coming message notification.
On (factory default): Gives an incoming message notification.
Off : Messages are still receiv ed, but without notification.

HFL Menus
Use HFL when the vehicle’s ig nition is in the ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position.
You can operate HFL by voice when on the PHONE screen. Below is the flow chart
showing available voice commands.1 HFL Menus
To use HFL, you must first pair your Bluetooth-
compatible cell phone to the system while the
vehicle is parked.

Text Messages
If your paired phone is MAP-compatible, you can receive and hear text messages and
reply to them using fixed reply messages.

If a text message is received, th e following screen is displayed.
1.Select Read.
The text message is read aloud.
Select Cancel to check the text
message later.
If the phone number of the
sender is stored to the
Phonebook, the name is
displayed.
2. Select an item.
The entire message body is not
displayed while driving.
The following items are available:
• Read: Reads the text message aloud. Select Stop to stop reading. Adjust the
volume using the VOL 9 (Volume/Power) knob.
• Reply: Replies to the message using a fixed reply message. You cannot create
your own messages.

If your phone is not capable of this function, a
notification appe ars when you select the text
message option.
Select Text Messages from the Phone screen to
view a list of the 20 most recently received text
messages. You can select each one to read,
reply, or call back. The list cannot be scrolled
while the vehicle is moving.
