WARNINGS
Use an approved child seat to securechildren less than 59 in (150 cm) tallin the rear seat.
Extreme Hazard! Never use arearward facing child restraint on aseat protected by an active airbag infront of it. Death or serious injury to thechild can occur. You must switch thepassenger airbag off when using arearward facing child seat on the frontseat. See Passenger Airbag (page 28).
You must switch the passengerairbag on following the removal ofthe child seat. See PassengerAirbag (page 28).
Read and follow the manufacturer’sinstructions when you are installinga child seat.
WARNINGS
Do not modify child seats in any way.
Do not hold a child on your lap whenthe vehicle is moving.
Do not leave unattended children inyour vehicle.
If your vehicle has been involved inan accident, have the child seatschecked by an authorized dealer.
Note:Mandatory use of child seats variesfrom country to country.
Only child seats certified to ECE-R129 orECE-R44.03 (or later) have been testedand approved for use in your vehicle. Achoice of these are available from anauthorized dealer.
Child Seats for Different MassGroups
Use the correct child seat as follows:
Baby Safety Seat
Secure children that weigh less than 29 lb(13 kg) in a rearward facing baby safetyseat (Group 0+) on the rear seat.

The airbag will deploy during a significantfrontal crash or crashes that are up to 30degrees from the left or the right. Theairbag will inflate within a few thousandthsof a second and deflate on contact withthe occupant cushioning forward bodymovement. During minor frontal crashes,sideways crashes, rear crashes oroverturns, the airbag will not deploy.
Switching the Passenger AirbagOff
WARNING
You must switch the passengerairbag off when using a rearwardfacing child seat on the frontpassenger seat. Never use a rearwardfacing child restraint on a seat protectedby an active airbag in front of it. Death orserious injury to the child can occur.

Switching the Passenger AirbagOn
WARNING
You must switch the passengerairbag on when you are not using arearward child seat on the frontpassenger seat. Failure to adhere to thiswarning could result in serious personalinjury or death.
Turn the switch to position B.
When you switch the ignition on, check thatthe airbag deactivation warning lamp doesnot illuminate.
SIDE AIRBAGS
WARNING
Use seat covers designed for seatswith side airbags. Have these fittedby an authorized dealer.
The airbags are located inside theseatback of the front seats. There is a labelattached to the side of the seatback toindicate this.
The airbag will deploy during significantlateral collisions. The airbag will not deployin minor lateral and frontal collisions, rearcollisions, or overturns.
DRIVER KNEE AIRBAG
WARNING
Do not attempt to open the airbagcover.
The airbag will deploy during frontalcollisions or collisions that are up to 30degrees from the left or the right. Theairbag will inflate within a few thousandthsof a second and deflate on contact withthe occupants, thus providing a cushionbetween the driver’s knees and the steeringcolumn. During overturns, rear collisionsand side collisions, the knee airbag will notdeploy.

Note:The airbag has a lower deploymentthreshold than the front airbags. During aminor collision, it is possible that only theknee airbag will deploy.
SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS
The airbags are located over the front andrear side windows.

The remote start system will not work if:
•The ignition is on.
•The alarm system triggered.
•You disable the feature.
•The hood is open.
•The transmission is not in park (P).
•The vehicle battery voltage is too low.
•The service engine soon light is on.
Remote Starting the Vehicle
Note:You must press each button withinthree seconds of each other. Your vehiclewill not remote start if you do not follow thissequence.
The tag with your transmitter details thestarting procedure.
To remote start your vehicle:
1.Press the lock button to lock all thedoors.
2.Press the remote start button twice.The exterior lamps flash twice.
The horn sounds if the system fails to start,unless quiet start is on. Quiet start will runthe blower fan at a slower speed to reducenoise. It can be switched on or off in theinformation display. See GeneralInformation (page 86).
Note:If you remote start the vehicle withan integrated keyhead transmitter, you mustswitch the ignition on before driving yourvehicle. With an intelligent accesstransmitter, you must press theSTART/STOP button on the instrumentpanel once while applying the brake pedalbefore driving your vehicle.
The power windows will not work duringthe remote start and the radio will not turnon automatically.
The parking lamps will remain on and thevehicle will run for 5, 10 or 15 minutes,depending on the setting.
Extending the Vehicle Run Time
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with the vehicle stillrunning to extend the run time for anotherremote start duration. If you programmedthe duration to last 10 minutes, the second10 minutes will begin after what is left ofthe first activation time. For example, if thevehicle had been running from the firstremote start for five minutes, the vehiclewill continue to run now for a total of 15minutes. You can extend the remote startup to a maximum of 35 minutes.
Wait at least five seconds before remotestarting after a vehicle shutdown.
Turning the Vehicle Off After RemoteStarting
Press the button once. Thevehicle and parking lamps willturn off.
You may have to be closer to the vehiclethan when starting due to ground reflectionand the added noise of the running vehicle.
You can disable or enable the remote startsystem through the information display.See General Information (page 86).

Tracks the distance when drivers use a MyKey. The only wayto delete the accumulated distance is by using an admin keyto clear your MyKey. If the distance does not accumulate asexpected, then the intended user is not using the MyKey, oran admin key user recently cleared and then recreated aMyKey.
MyKey Dist.
Indicates the number of MyKeys programed to your vehicle.Use this feature to detect how many MyKeys you have foryour vehicle and determine when a MyKey has been deleted.
{0} MyKeys
Indicates how many admin keys are programed to yourvehicle. Use this feature to determine how many unrestrictedkeys you have for your vehicle, and detect if an additionalMyKey has been programed.
