Distance to empty is calculated using arunning average fuel economy, which isbased on your recent driving history of 500miles (800 km).
This value is not the same as the averagefuel economy display. The running averagefuel economy is re-initialized to a factorydefault value if the battery is disconnected.

Average fuel economy displays youraverage fuel economy in miles/gallon orliters/100 km.
MPG (L/km)
