Changing a wheel
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel for the spare wheel using the tools provided with the vehicle.

The tools are installed in the boot under the floor.
To gain access to them: )open the boot, )lift the boot carpet by pulling the strap
upwards,
)remove the polystyrene storage box,)unclip and remove the box containing the
tools.

All of these tools are specific to your vehicle. Do not use them for other purposes.

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel, firstdetach the trim using the wheelbrace 1pulling at the valve passage hole. When refitting the wheel
, refit thetrim starting by placing its cut-out at the valve and press around its edge withthe palm of your hand.

For removing the bolt protectors (covers)on alloy wheels.4.Socket for the security wheel bolts (located
in the glove box).
For adapting the wheelbrace to the specialsecurity wheel bolts (if your vehicle is fitted
with them)

The spare wheel is installed in the boot under
the floor.
According to country, you will have either a
"space saver" spare wheel or a temporarypuncture repair kit.
For access to it, refer to the paragraph "Access
to the tools" on the previous page.
Access to the spare wheel
Fitting the "space-saver"type spare wheel
If your vehicle is fitted with alloywheels, it is normal to notice, whentightening the bolts on fitting, that the washers do not come into contact withthe "space-saver" type spare wheel. The wheel is secured by the conicalcontact of each bolt.

)Unscrew the yellow central bolt. )Raise the spare wheel towards you from
the rear.)Take the wheel out of the boot.

Removing a wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does not block traffic: the ground must belevel, stable and not slippery. Apply the parking brake, switch off the ignition and engage first gear * to lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under thewheel diagonally opposite the wheel to be changed. It is imperative that you ensure that the occupants get out of the vehicle andwait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised using a jack; use an axle stand.

Remove the chromed bolt cover from each of the bolts using the tool 3 (alloy wheels
only).)
Fit the socket 4 on the wheelbrace 1to slacken the security bolt (if your vehicle isfitted with them).)
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1only.

Practical information
)Place the jack 2 in contact with one of thetwo front Aor rear B
locations provided on
the underbody, whichever is closest to the
wheel to be changed.

On vehicles fitted with sill finishers, thejacking location is indicated by a markingon the finisher. The jack must be placedcentrally in line with this marking, at the jacking point located behind the finisher and not on the plastic finisher itself.
) Remove the bolts and store them in a clean place. )
Remove the wheel.
)
Extend the jack 2until its base plate is in contact with the ground. Ensure that the centreline of the jack base plate is directly below the location Aor B
used.)
Raise the vehicle until there is sufficientspace between the wheel and the groundso that the spare (not punctured) wheel can
then be fitted without difficulty.

Fitting a wheel
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in the boot correctly, first remove the centralcover. When using the "space-saver" typetemporary-use spare wheel, do not exceed 50 mph (80 km/h).Have the tightening of the bolts and thepressure of the spare wheel checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without delay. Have the punctured wheel repaired andreplace it on the vehicle as soon aspossible. Do not drive with more than one temporary-use spare wheel fitted to thevehicle at one time.

The 215/40 R18 89W tyres fitted as standardare not suitable for severe winter conditions. CITROËN recommends that you use suitable
winter tyres during periods of very cold
weather.
