Description
Applies to vehicles: with parking system plus
Audi parking system plus provides audio and
visual signals when parking.

Sensors are located in the front and rear
bumpers.
If these detect an obs tacle, visual
and in some situations aud ible signals warn
you.
M ake sure t he sensors are not cove red by
s t icke rs, deposits or any o ther obs truc tions as
it may impair the sensor function. For infor
mation on cleaning, refer to
c::> page 213.
The display field begins approximately at:
® 4 ft (1.20 m)
® 3 ft (0 .90 m)
© 5.2 ft (1.60 m)
@ 3 ft (0 .90 m)
The clos er you get to the obstacle, the sho rter
the interval between the audible signa ls. A
con tinuous tone sounds when the obstacle is
l ess than approximate ly 1 ft (0.30 m) away .

If the d istance to an obstacle remains con
stant, the volume of the d istance warning
gradually drops after about four seconds (this
does not apply in the continuous tone range).

tance to a n object in front of o r behind the ve

identified obstacle that is outside of the vehi
cle's pat h. Red segments show identified ob
stacles that are in your vehicle's path . As your
vehicle comes close r to the obstacle, the seg
ments move closer to the vehicle . At the lat-
est th e collision area has been reached when ..,.
example, after a collision, do not contin
ue to use the system for safety reasons.
Have it checked by your authorized Audi
dealership or authorized repair facility.
- Only use the rear view camera to assist
you if it shows a good, clear picture. For
example, the image may be affected by
the sun shining into the lens, dirt on the
lens or if there is a system fault.
- Use the rear view camera only if the lug
gage compartment lid is completely
closed. Make sure any objects you may
have mounted on the luggage compart
ment lid do not block the rear view cam
era.
- The camera lens enlarges and distorts
the field of vision. The object appears
both altered and inaccurate on the
screen.
- In certain situations, people or objects in
the display appear closer or further
away:
- For objects that do not touch the
ground , such as the bumper of a
parked vehicle, a trailer hitch or the
rear of a truck. Do not use the help
lines in this case.
- If driven from a level surface onto an
incline, or a downward slope.
- If driven toward protruding objects.
- If the vehicle is carrying too much load
in the rear.

-The orange colored orientation lines in
the Infotainment display show the vehi
cle path depending on the steering
wheel angle. The front of the vehicle
front swings out more than the rear of
the vehicle. Maintain plenty of distance
so that your outside mirror or a corner of
your vehicle does not collide with any ob stacles.

Rear spoiler
The rear spoiler improves vehicle handling
and enhances driver control.

The rear spoiler dep loys and retracts . Spo iler
ope rat ion can be set for automatic or manual
operat ion.
Automatic mode (no rmal oper at ion )
-Automatic deployment: At a speed of about
80 mph (130 km/h), the rear spoiler deploys
automatical ly .
- Automatic retraction: When speed drops be low about SO mph (80 km/h), the rear spo il
er retracts automatically.
M anual mode
- Manual deployment: Tapping briefly on the
switch¢
fig. 183 deploys the rear spo iler .
- Manual retraction: At speeds up to about
10 mph (20 km/h), retract the rear spoiler
by pressing and holding the switch

(I/. Re ar spoiler: syste m malfunct ion!
The rear spoiler may not have extended due to
a malfunction. This could change the vehicle's
driving characteristics at high speeds. Do not
exceed 85 mph (140 km/h). Drive to your au
thor ized Audi dealer immed iately to have the
malfunct ion corrected . The co lor of the indica
tor light depends on the ve hicle speed.

A WARNING
Driving at higher speeds without the rear
spoiler deployed can impair handling char
acter istics, making the vehicle ha rder to
control.
-Always make sure that the spo iler is de
ployed when driving at speeds over
85 mph (140 km/ h).
If the rear spoiler
warn ing/ indi ca tor light in the inst ru
men t cluster comes on, the rear spoiler
may not have deployed.
- Never d rive a t speeds h igher than
85 mph (140 km/ h) if the spoiler is not
deployed . Have the spoiler inspected as
soon as possible by an a uthorized Audi
dea ler or qualified workshop .
- Always obey speed limits and other traf
fic laws .
A WARNING
Improper operation of the rear spoi ler can
cause crushing injuries.
- Always make sure that nobody, especially
children, is in the way when the rear
spoiler is deployed or retracted.

- Never push the vehicle or apply force to
the rear spoiler -it could be damaged.
- O nly operate the rear spoiler man ua lly
when the rea r lid is closed . Otherwise,
damage cou ld occur .
(D Tips
Clean the spoiler compa rtment every 2 to
3 months. The spoiler compartment must
a lways be free of ice, snow, leaves or other
debris.
