Using automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the temperature setting
and ambient conditions. As a result, the following may occur:
Immediately after is pressed, the fan may stop for a while until
warm or cool air is ready to flow.
Cool air may flow to the area around the upper body when the heater is
on.
After pressing
The selection frame will automatically move to the fan speed display.
Switching between outside air and recirculated air modes
Recirculated air mode or outside air mode may be automatically switched in
accordance with the temperature setting and the inside temperature.
Also, outside air mode may be automatically switched to when the outside
temperature is low.
Using the system in recirculated air mode
The windows will fog up more easily if recirculated air mode is used.
Window defogger feature
Recirculated air mode may automatically switch to outside air mode in situa-
tions where the windows need to be defogged.

Pollen removal mode
In order to prevent the windshield from fogging up when the outside air is
cold, the following may occur:
• Outside air mode does not switch to recirculated air mode.
• The air conditioning system operates automatically.
• The operation cancels after 1 minute.
In rainy weather, the windows may fog up. Press .
Outside temperature display
In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be dis-
played, or the display may take longer than normal to change.
When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 25 km/h [16 mph])
When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/
exit of a garage, tunnel, etc.)
Operation of the air conditioning system in Eco drive mode
In the Eco drive mode, the air conditioning system is controlled as follows to
prioritize fuel efficiency:
Engine speed and compressor operation controlled to restrict heating/
cooling capacity
Fan speed restricted when automatic mode is selected
To improve air conditioning performance, perform the following operations:
Adjust the fan speed and temperature
Turn off Eco drive mode (P. 218)
Customize the air conditioning control of Eco drive mode. (P. 548)
When outside air temperature is below 0 C (32 F)
The cooling and dehumidification function may not operate even when
is pressed.

When changing the temperature setting using the steering switches
The temperature will change, however the position of the selection frame on
the air conditioning display will remain the same.
When operating the steering switches (vehicles with head-up display)
The steering switches operation status is displayed on the head-up dis-
play for confirmation purposes. (P. 247)
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of an accident
Exercise care when operating the air conditioning switches on the steering
wheel.
Settings are shown on the head-up dis-
play when the steering switch is oper-
ated.

Clock
The clock is displayed when
The “POWER” switch is in ON mode.
After turning the “POWER” switch off
Even after the “POWER” switch has been turned off, the time will continue to
be displayed for approximately 30 seconds or until a door is locked.
When the 12-volt battery is disconnected
The time display will automatically be set to 1:00.

When trouble arises
