■Discharge headlights (if equipped)
If voltage to the discharge bulbs is insufficient, the bulbs may not come on, or
may go out temporarily. The discharge bulbs will come on when normal
power is restored.
■ LED light bulbs
The daytime running lights (vehicles with discharge headlights), stop/tail
lights, high mounted stoplight and outer foot lights each consist of a number
of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to your Toyota dealer
to have the light replaced.
■ Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the lens does not indicate a
malfunction. Contact your Toyota dealer for more information in the following
situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
● Water has built up inside the lens.
■ Removing and installing the clips
The fender liner, luggage trim cover and trunk panel cover clip
■ When replacing light bulbs

After taking the specified steps to correct the suspected problem,
check that the warning light goes off.

“PCS” warning light Indicates a malfunction in the pre-collision system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the
system is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operating. (P. 245)
• The light will turn on when the pre-collision system is disabled. ( P. 246)
• The light will flash when the system cannot temporarily be used.
Slip indicatorIndicates a malfunction in:
• The VSC system;
• The TRAC system; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the ABS, the VSC, the TRAC or
the hill-start assist control system is operating.
Brake system warning light Indicates a malfunction in:
• The electronically controlled brake system; or
• The regenerative braking system

Automatic High Beam indicator light Indicates a malfunction in the Automatic High Beam sys-
tem.
Follow the correction procedures.

Use the mechanical key

the following operations:
Locks all the doors
Unlocks the door
Turning the key rearward
unlocks the driver’s door. Turn-
ing the key once again within 5
seconds unlocks the other
doors.

If the electronic key does not operate prop-
erly
If communication between the electronic key and vehicle is
interrupted ( P. 126) or the electronic key cannot be used
because the battery is depleted, the smart key system and wire-
less remote control cannot be used. In such cases, the doors
and trunk can be opened and the hybrid system can be started
by following the procedure below.

If you have a set of jumper (or booster) cables and a second vehicle
with a 12-volt battery, you can jump start your vehicle by following the
steps below.
Open the trunk lid and remove
the 12-volt battery cover.
In the event that the trunk opener
cannot be used, use the loop of
wire to unlock the trunk. ( P. 140)
Connect the jumper cables according to the following procedure:
Connect a positive jumper cable clamp to the positive (+) battery
terminal on your vehicle.
Connect the clamp on the other e nd of the positive cable to the
positive (+) battery terminal on the second vehicle.
Connect a negative cable clamp to the negative (-) battery termi-
nal on the second vehicle.
If the 12-volt batter y is discharged
The following procedures may be used to start the hybrid sys-
tem if the 12-volt battery is discharged.
You can also call your Toyota de aler or a qualified repair shop.
