This Owner's Manual describes all possible equipment variants without identify-
ing them as special equipment, model variants or market-dependent equipment.
Consequently, this vehicle does not need to contain all of the equipment compo-
nents described in this Owner's Manual.
The level of equipment of your vehicle refers to your purchase contract of the ve-
hicle. For more information, please contact your local ŠKODA retailer.
The illustrations in this Owner's Manual may have differences from your vehicle;
they are only intended for general information.

Only use the device in a way that ensures that you are in full control of your
vehicle in every traffic situation - there is a risk of accident!

Adjust the volume to ensure that acoustic signals from outside, e.g. sirens
from vehicles which have the right of way, such as police, ambulance and fire
brigade vehicles, can be heard at all time.

If some radio stations have already been stored under the station buttons, then
these station buttons will be overwritten with newly located stations after the
automatic station search.
Store station
Set the desired radio station and press and hold the corresponding key 3

on page 5 until a beep is heard. The station is stored in the device memory and its
name appears above the corresponding key

Selecting a frequency band
The device can receive the frequencies FM (memory groupsFM1 and FM2) and AM
(memory groupsAM1 and AM2).

Select radio stations
Depending on the Arrow keys » page 12 , Radio settings settings, the device sets
to a radio station in the current frequency range from the following list:

■ List of stations stored in the device memory

Five presets are available in each memory group. The station name and programme type transmitted by the radio station according

is displayed.
If the station is stored in the device memory, then the symbol
is also displayed.
The unit will automatically search for radio stations if no list of available stations
is present.

Some radio stations transmit traffic information. The device is capable of trans-
mitting these traffic reports.

Screen display
Availability of traffic monitoring is shown on the display by the symbol in con-
junction with the station name (for example, from the station or preset lists).
If the radio station does not broadcast traffic reports, or if no traffic stations can
be found (due to a general radio reception interruption, for example), then the
symbol
is displayed.
If the set radio station does not support traffic reports,
then an appropriate sta-
tion is automatically set in the background
to enable traffic reports to be contin-
uously received.
The device functions in the same way for the selected
frequency range.
While playing in Media mode, the last selected radio station continues to be re-
ceived in the background if it supports traffic information.
Interrupting/stopping the traffic programme When the traffic programme is being received, Traffic announcement is displayed
on the device display screen with the following options:
■ TP off - Ends the traffic announcement currently being played
■ Cancel - Switch off the traffic programme function

First and foremost, pay attention to the safety instructions » page 4 , Important

The device allows you to play audio files in various formats and to connect differ-
ent source types » page 19.
When the source has been connected, the device starts to automatically play au- dio files in alphabetical order.
WARNING■ Never place external sources on the console panel. They could be thrown in-
to the passenger compartment during sudden driving manoeuvres, thereby in-
juring the occupants.■
Never place external sources close to the airbags. They could be thrown into
the passenger compartment when the airbags are deployed, injuring the oc-
cupants.
■
Never hold external sources in your hand or on your knees while driving.
They could be thrown into the passenger compartment during sudden driving
manoeuvres, thereby injuring the occupants.
■
Always route the connection cable for the external source such that it does
not restrict you when driving.

Do not store any important data on CDs, Bluetooth ®
players, SD memory cards or
connected external sources. ŠKODA assumes no responsibility for lost or dam-
aged files or connected devices.

Operating an external audio source is possible only with certain restrictions and depends on the type
of connected device.

The name of the artist, the album and the title of the played file can be displayed
if the information is available as a so-called ID3 tag. If no ID3 tag is available, only the folder name is displayed.
To ensure good quality sound, we recommend a minimum compressed bitrate of
160 kb/s for MP3 files. For audio files with variable bitrates, the indicated remain-
ing playback time does not correspond to the actual remaining playback time.
WMA files can only be played when not copyrighted by DRM. These kinds of WMAfiles are not supported by the device.
The more files, folders or playlists on one source, the longer it will take to read
the source. It is a good idea to create subfolders with files (e.g. by artist or album
names) in order to save time.

Pairing from the mobile phone

The following messages will be displayed on the device display screen, depending on the type of mobile phone:

■ OK - Accepts the entered PIN code
■ Delete - Changes the entered PIN code
If the hands-free system appears on the display of the mobile phone, confirm the
pairing request and wait until the pairing is complete.
Fast connection to another paired mobile phone
First read and observe the introductory information given on page 26.
If you want to connect the device to another paired mobile phone, the existing
connection does not have to be terminated. The connection to the existing mo-
bile phone is automatically terminated by connecting to another mobile phone.

Press the PHONE button in the Telephone main menu.
A list of up to four previously connected mobile phones will appear.

Select the mobile phone to be connected with the hands-free system by con- firming the corresponding function key

The on-screen message Replace the connection with … with a new connection
with …? must be confirmed in order to ensure that the connection is established
successfully.

If the desired mobile phone does not appear in the list press the Search key and
search for paired devices.

Select the desired phone from the resulting list of paired devices by turning the
menu button

Confirm the connection by selecting Connect.
If the desired mobile phone did not appear in the list of the four previously con-
nected mobile phones and is not in the resulting list of paired devices, then the
mobile phone must be paired with the device » page 27.

The newly entered PIN code must contain between 4 and 16 digits. The same PIN code must be en-
tered on both the hands-free system and the mobile phone.

replaced with the last four symbols of the VIN code of your vehicle. You can change the name of the hands-free system.

Telephone call

The contact name or phone number of the person calling or being called are dis-
played on the device display screen during the telephone conversation, along
with the call duration.
Depending on the context, you can select the following functions:
Outgoing call
■ End call - Ends the call
Incoming call ■ Accept - Answers the incoming call
■ Ignore - Ignores the incoming call and return to the last selected device mode 1)
(the ringtone is muted, but carries on running in the background)
■ Reject - Rejects incoming call
Current call
■ DTMF - Enter key tone (DTMF), e.g. to check voicemail or use an automated tel-
ephone service (call centre) during a call
■ Contacts - Opens the phone book
■ Send - Sends key tone (DTMF)
■ Contacts - Displays phone book
■ Mic. off - Switches off microphone or switches on by re- pressing (the symbol on
the device screen
represents the deactivated microphone)
