Temperature G
WARNING
The temperature grade for this tire is
established for a tire that is properly inflated
and not overloaded. Excessive speed,
underinflation, or excessive loading, either
separately or in combination, can cause
excessive heat build-up and possible tire
failure.
The temperature grades are A(the highest),
B, and C. These represent the tire's
resistance to the generatio nofheat and its
ability to dissipate heat when tested under
controlled conditions on a specified indoor
laboratory test wheel. Sustained high
temperature can cause the material of the tire
to degenerate and reduce tire life, and
excessive temperature can lead to sudden
tire failure. The grade Ccorresponds to a level
of performance which all passenger car tires
must meet under the Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard No. 109. Grades B and A
represent higher levels of performance on the
laboratory test wheel than the minimum
required by law. Tire labeling

! Inflate the collapsible spare wheel using
the tire inflation compressor before
lowering the vehicle. The wheel rim could
otherwise be damaged.
! Do not operate the tire inflation
compressor for longer than ten minutes at
a time withou tabreak. It may otherwise
overheat.
The tire inflation compressor can be
operated again once it has cooled down. X
Mount the collapsible spare wheel as
described (Y page 330).
The collapsible spare wheel must be
mounted before it is inflated.
X Pull plug 0023out of the housing.
X Take the air hose out of the housing.
X Insert the yellow hose connector of the air
hose into the guide in the housing and push
it into the fixture until the hose connector

X Turn the SmartKey to position 1in the
ignition lock (Y page 135).
X Press on/offs witch0021on the tire inflation
compressor to ON.
The tire inflatio ncompressor is switched
on. The tire is inflated. The tire pressure is
shown on pressure gauge 0024.
X Inflate the tire to the specified tire
pressure.
The specified tire pressure is printed on the
yellow label of the emergency spare wheel.
X When the specified tire pressure has been
reached, press on/offs witch0021toOFF , on
the tire inflatio ncompressor.
The tire inflation compressor is switched
off.
X Turn the SmartKey to position 0in the
