Dialing a number from the phone book

Press the 0004or0008 button on the
steering wheel to selec tthe Tel menu.
X Press the 0006,0007or000F button to call
up the phone book.
X Press the 0006or0007 button to select the
desired name.

X To begin rapid scrolling: press and hold
the 0006 or0007 button for longer than
one second.
Rapid scrolling stops when you release the
button or reach the end of the list.
X If only one telephone number is stored
for a name: press the0017or000F button
to start dialing.

X If there is more than one number for a
particular name: press the0017or000F
button to display the numbers.
X Press the 0006or0007 button to select the
number you want to dial.
X Press the 0017or000F button to start
dialing.

X To exit the telephone book: press the
003C or001F button.
Redialing The on-board computer saves the last names
or numbers dialed in the redial memory.
X Press the 0004or0008 button on the
steering wheel to select the Tel menu.
X Press the 0017button to switch to the
redial memory.
X Press the 0006or0007 button to select the
desired name or number.
X Press the 0017or000F button to start
dialing.

Activating/deactivating PRE-SAFE
®
Brake PRE-SAFE
®
Brake is only available in vehicles
with DISTRONIC PLUS.
X Press the 0004or0008 button on the
steering wheel to select the DriveAssistmenu.
X Press the 0006or0007 buttonto select
PRE-SAFE Brake .
X Press 000F.
The current selection is displayed.
X To activate/deactivate: press000F
again.
When PRE-SAFE ®
Brake is activated, the
multifunction display shows the 0001symbol
as long as the HOLD function is not activated
(Y page 195).
Vehicles with Active Parking Assist: if
PARKTRONIC is activated and you are driving
at a speed under 22 mph (35 km/h), the 0014
Active Parking Assist symbol is shown instead
of the 0001symbol (Y page 206).

Operator's Manual Active Lane Keeping Assist is deactivated and temporarily
inoperative. Possible causes are:
R
the windshield in the camera's field of vision is dirty.
R visibility is impaired due to heavy rain, snow or fog.
R there are no lane markings for a longer period.
R the lane markings are worn, dark or covered, e.g .by dir tors now.
Whe nthe causes stated above no longer apply, the display
message disappears.
Active Lane Keeping Assist is operational again.
If the display message does not disappear:
X Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.
X Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 175).
