Automatic locking mode:In this mode, the shoulder belt or lap belt is
automatically pre-locked. The belt will still retract to remove any slack in
the shoulder or lap belt. The automatic locking mode is not available on
the driver safety belt.
When to use the automatic locking mode:This mode should be used
any timea child safety seat, except a booster, is installed in passenger
front or rear seating positions. Children 12 years old and under should be
properly restrained in a rear seating position whenever possible.
How to use the automatic locking mode
Non-inflatable safety belts
•Buckle the combination lap and shoulder
belt.
•Grasp the shoulder portion of the belt and
pull downward until the entire belt is pulled
out. As the belt retracts, you will hear a
clicking sound. This indicates the safety belt
is now in the automatic locking mode.
Rear outboard inflatable safety belts (second row only–if equipped)
•Buckle the combination lap and shoulder
belt.
•Grasp the lap portion of the belt and pull
upward until the entire belt is pulled out.
•Allow the belt to retract. As the belt
retracts, you will hear a clicking sound. This
indicates the safety belt is now in the
automatic locking mode.
How to disengage the automatic locking mode:Disconnect the
combination lap/shoulder belt and allow it to retract completely to
disengage the automatic locking mode and activate the vehicle sensitive
(emergency) locking mode.

5. Within approximately seven seconds of the light turning off, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt.
•This will disable the Belt-Minderfeature for that seating position if it
is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash four times per second for three seconds.
•This will enable the Belt-Minderfeature for that seating position if it
is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash four times per second for three seconds, followed by three
seconds with the light off, then followed by the safety belt warning
light flashing four times per second for three seconds again.
REAR INFLATABLE SAFETY BELT (IF EQUIPPED)
WARNING:Do not attempt to service, repair, or modify the rear
inflatable safety belt.
The rear inflatable safety belts are fitted in the shoulder portion of the
safety belts of the second-row outboard seating positions.
Note:The rear inflatable safety belts are compatible with most infant
and child safety car seats and belt positioning booster seats when
properly installed. This is because they are designed to fill with a cooled
gas at a lower pressure and at a slower rate than traditional airbags.
After inflation, the shoulder portion of the safety belt remains cool to the
touch.
The rear inflatable safety belt consists of the following:
•An inflatable bag located in the shoulder safety belt webbing.
•Lap safety belt webbing with automatic locking mode.
•Safety belt warning light and chime. SeeSafety belt warning

•the vehicle is locked using the keyless entry keypad
•after 25 seconds of illumination.
The lights will not turn off if:
•they have been turned on with the dimmer control
•any door is open.
Illuminated Exit
The interior dome lamps, parking lamps and puddle lamps (if equipped)
will illuminate when all doors are closed and the ignition is turned off.
The lights will turn off if all the doors remain closed and:
•25 seconds elapse
•the START/STOP button is pressed.
Battery Saver
If the courtesy lamps, dome lamps or headlamps are left on, the battery
saver will shut them off 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned off.
Accessory Mode Battery Saver for Intelligent Access Keys
If you shut off the engine and leave the ignition in the on or accessory
mode, the ignition will shut off after 30 minutes.
LIFTGATE
WARNING:It is extremely dangerous to ride in a cargo area,
inside or outside of a vehicle. In a collision, people riding in these
areas are more likely to be seriously injured or killed. Do not allow
people to ride in any area of your vehicle that is not equipped with
seats and safety belts. Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and
using a safety belt properly.
Power Liftgate
WARNING:Make sure all persons are clear of the power liftgate
area before using the power liftgate control.
WARNING:Keep keys out of reach of children. Do not allow
children to play near an open or moving power liftgate.

Opening the Windows
Press and hold the unlock button on the remote control to begin opening
the windows and venting the moonroof (if equipped). The power
sunscreen will also open.
Press the lock or unlock button on the remote control to stop motion.
Closing the Windows
WARNING:Before operating power windows and moonroof, you
should verify that they are free of obstructions and ensure that
children and/or pets are not in the proximity of window openings.
Press and hold the lock button on the remote control to begin closing the
windows and moonroof (if equipped).
Press the lock or unlock button the remote control to stop motion.
Bounce-Back
The window will stop automatically while closing and reverse some
distance if there is an obstacle in the way.
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
Pull up the window switch and hold within two seconds of the window
reaching the bounce-back position. The window will travel up with no
bounce-back protection. The window will stop if the switch is released
before the window is fully closed.
Window Lock
Press the control to lock or unlock
the rear window controls.
Accessory Delay
You can use the window switches for several minutes after you turn the
ignition off, or until either front door is opened.
