The moon roof can be operated when
The power switch is in ON mode.
Operating the moon roof after turning the hybrid system off
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even after the
power switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however,
be operated once either front door is opened.
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while the moon roof
is closing or tilting down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly.
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will
open automatically to slightly before the fully open position when the moon roof
is opened.
When the moon roof does not close normally
Perform the following procedure:
If the moon roof closes but then re-opens slightly
Stop the vehicle.
Press and hold the “CLOSE” switch.

The moon roof will close, reopen and pause for approximately 10 sec-
onds.
*2 Then it will close again and tilt down. Finally it will be adjusted
slightly and then stop.
Check to make sure that the moon roof completely stops and then release the
switch.
If the moon roof tilts down but then tilts back up
Stop the vehicle.
Press and hold the “DOWN” switch.

The moon roof will close, reopen and pause for approximately 10 seconds in
the tilt up position.
*2 Then it will close again and tilt down. Finally it will be
adjusted slightly and then stop.
Check to make sure that the moon roof has completely stopped and then
release the switch.
*1: If the switch is released at the incorrect time, the procedure will have to be
performed again from the beginning.
*2: If the switch is released after the above mentioned 10 second pause, auto-
matic operation will be disabled. In that case, press and hold the “CLOSE”
or “DOWN” switch, and the moon roof will close, be adjusted slightly and
then stop. Check to make sure that the moon roof has completely stopped
and then release the switch.
If the moon roof does not fully close even after performing the above procedure
correctly, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer,
or another duly qualified and equipped professional.

Moon roof open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display in
the instrument cluster when the power switch is turned off and the driver’s door
is opened with the moon roof open.
WA R N I N G
Observe the following precautions.
Failing to do so may cause death or serious injury.
Opening the moon roof
Do not allow any passengers to put their hands or heads outside the vehicle
while it is moving.
Do not sit on top of the moon roof.
Closing the moon roof
Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a
position where it could be caught when the moon roof is being operated.
Do not allow children to operate the moon roof.
Closing the moon roof on someone can cause death or serious injury.
Jam protection function
Never use any part of your body to intentionally activate the jam protection
function.
The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just
before the moon roof fully closes.

Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
When the vehicle is parked
Do not leave glasses, cigarette lighters, spray cans, or soft drink cans in the
vehicle when it is in the sun.
Doing so may result in the following:
• Gas may leak from a cigarette lighter or spray can, and may lead to a fire.
• The temperature inside the vehicle may cause the plastic lenses and plastic
material of glasses to deform or crack.
• Soft drink cans may fracture, causing the contents to spray over the interior
of the vehicle, and may also cause a short circuit in the vehicle’s electrical
components.
Do not leave cigarette lighters in the vehicle. If a cigarette lighter is in a place
such as the glove box or on the floor, it may be lit accidentally when luggage
is loaded or the seat is adjusted, causing a fire.
Do not attach adhesive discs to the windshield or windows. Do not place con-
tainers such as air fresheners on the instrument panel or dashboard. Adhesive
discs or containers may act as lenses, causing a fire in the vehicle.
Do not leave a door or window open if the curved glass is coated with a met-
allized film such as a silver-colored one. Reflected sunlight may cause the
glass to act as a lens, causing a fire.
Always apply the parking brake, shift the shift position to P, stop the hybrid
system and lock the vehicle.
Do not leave the vehicle unattended while the “READY” indicator is illumi-
nated.
Do not touch the exhaust pipe while the “READY” indicator is illuminated or
immediately after turning the hybrid system off.
Doing so may cause burns.

When the rear window is dry
Do not use the wiper, as it may damage the rear window.
When the washer fluid tank is empty
Do not operate the switch continually as the washer fluid pump may overheat.

Opening the fuel tank cap
Close all the doors and windows, and turn the power switch off.
Confirm the type of fuel.
Fuel types
EU area:
Unleaded gasoline conforming to European standard EN228, Research Octane
Number of 95 or higher
Except EU area:
Unleaded gasoline, Research octane number 95 or higher
Use of ethanol blended gasoline in a gasoline engine
Lexus allows the use of ethanol blended gasoline where the ethanol content is up
to 10%. Make sure that the ethanol blended gasoline to be used has a Research
Octane Number that follows the above.
Perform the following steps to open the fuel tank cap:

How to use the camera
The rear view monitor system may not operate properly in the following
cases.
• If the back of the vehicle is hit, the position and mounting angle of the
camera may change.
• As the camera has a water proof construction, do not detach, disassemble
or modify it. This may cause incorrect operation.
• Do not strongly rub the camera lens. If the camera lens is scratched, it can-
not transmit a clear image.
• Do not allow organic solvent, car wax, window cleaner or glass coat to
adhere to the camera. If this happens, wipe it off as soon as possible.
• If the temperature changes rapidly, such as when hot water is poured on the
vehicle in cold weather, the system may not operate normally.
• When washing the vehicle, do not apply intensive bursts of water to the
camera or camera area. Doing so may result in the camera malfunctioning.
• When the camera is used under fluorescent lights, sodium light or mercury
light etc., the lights and the illuminated areas may appear to flicker.
Do not expose the camera to strong impact as this could cause a malfunction.
If this happens, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional as soon as possi-
ble.
