When the appropriate conditions exist, the EVIC displays
the following messages:

•Door(s) Ajar (with a single chime, if vehicle is in
motion)
•Liftgate Ajar (chime will sound when vehicle starts

ing System” in “Starting And Operating”)

•Turn Signal On

Remote Unlock Sequence
WhenDriver Door 1st Pressis selected, only the driver’s
door will unlock on the first press of the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) transmitter UNLOCK button. When Driver
Door 1st Press is selected, you must press the RKE
transmitter UNLOCK button twice, to unlock the passen-
ger’s doors. WhenAll Doors 1st Pressis selected, all of
the doors will unlock on the first press of the RKE
transmitter UNLOCK button. To make your selection,
press and release the SELECT button until a check-mark
appears next to the feature showing the system has been
activated or the check-mark is removed showing the
system has been deactivated.
RKE Linked To Memory – If Equipped
When this feature is selected the memory seat, mirror,
and radio settings will return to the memory set position
when the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed. If
this feature is not selected then the memory seat, mirror,and radio settings can only return to the memory set
position using the door mounted switch. To make your
selection, press and release the SELECT button until a
check-mark appears next to the feature showing the
system has been activated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deactivated.
Remote Start Comfort Sys. – If Equipped
When this feature is selected and the remote start is
activated, the heated steering wheel and driver heated
seat features will automatically turn on in cold weather.
In warm weather, the driver vented seat feature will
automatically turn on when the remote start is activated.
These features will stay on through the duration of
remote start or until the key is turned to RUN. To make
your selection, press and release the SELECT button until
a check-mark appears next to the feature showing the
system has been activated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deactivated.

Horn with Remote Lock – If Equipped
When this feature is selected, a short horn sound will
occur when the RKE transmitter LOCK button is pressed.
This feature may be selected with or without the Flash
Lamps with Lock feature. To make your selection, press
and release the SELECT button until a check-mark ap-
pears next to the feature showing the system has been
activated or the check-mark is removed showing the
system has been deactivated.
Horn with Remote Start
When this feature is selected, a short horn sound will
occur when the RKE transmitter REMOTE START button
is pressed. To make your selection, press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark appears next to the
feature showing the system has been activated or the
check-mark is removed showing the system has been
deactivated.
Flash Lamps with Lock
When ON is selected, the front and rear turn signals will
flash when the doors are locked or unlocked with the
RKE transmitter. This feature may be selected with or
without the sound horn on lock feature selected. To make
your selection, press and release the SELECT button until
a check-mark appears next to the feature showing the
system has been activated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deactivated.
Headlamp Off Delay
When this feature is selected, the driver can choose to
have the headlights remain on for 0, 30, 60, or 90 seconds
when exiting the vehicle. To make your selection, scroll
up or down until the preferred setting is highlighted,
then press and release the SELECT button until a check-
mark appears next to the setting, showing that the setting
has been selected.

Using the Remote Control
•Select an audio channel (Channel 1 for 2nd row screen
and Channel 2 for 3rd row screen), then press the
source key and select VES™ Disc from the menu.
•Press popup/menu key to navigate disc menu and
options.
NOTE:Due to the size of the content on a Blu-ray disc,
the disc may not start playing immediately.
Play Video Games
Connect the video game console to the Auxiliary RCA
input jacks or HDMI port, located on the left side behind

Dual Video Screen
NOTE:Typically there are two different ways to operate
the features of the Video Entertainment System (VES™).
•The Remote Control
•The Touch-Screen Radio (If Equipped)
Play A DVD Using The Touch-Screen Radio
NOTE:Headunit DVD player does not play Blu-Ray
discs.
1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE or LOAD hard-key on the
radio faceplate (Touch-Screen).
2. Insert the DVD with the label facing up. The radio
automatically selects the appropriate mode after the
disc is recognized and displays the menu screen or
starts playing the first track.3. To watch a DVD on Screen 1 for second row passen-
gers, ensure the Remote Control and Headphone
switch is on Channel 1.
4. To watch a DVD on Screen 2 for third row passengers,
ensure the Remote Control and Headphone switch is
on Channel 2.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the SOURCE button on the Remote Control.
2. While looking at Screen 1 or 2, highlight DISC by
either pressing Up/Down/Left/Right buttons or by
repeatedly pressing the SOURCE button, then press
ENTER/OK.

3. Touch the 1 or 2 soft-key and then the DISC soft-key in
the MEDIA column. To exit touch the back arrow at
the top left of the screen.
NOTE:
•To view a DVD on the radio press the RADIO/MEDIA
hard-key, on the radio faceplate, then touch the DISC
tab soft-key and then the VIEW VIDEO soft-key.
•
Viewing a DVD on the Touch-Screen radio screen is not
available in all states/provinces, and the vehicle must be
stopped, and the shift lever must be in the PARK position
for vehicles with automatic transmission. In vehicles with
manual transmission the parking brake must be engaged.
•Touching the screen on a Touch-Screen radio while a
DVD is playing brings up basic remote control functions
for DVD play such as scene selection, Play, Pause, FF,
RW, and Stop. Pressing the X in the upper corner will
turn off the remote control screen functions.
Play A DVD Using The VES™ Player (If Equipped)
1.Insert the DVD with the label facing up. The VES™
player automatically selects the appropriate mode after
the disc is recognized and starts playing the DVD.
NOTE:The VES™ player has basic DVD control func-
tion such as Menu, Play, Pause, FF, RW and Stop

(If Equipped)

mode after the disc is recognized and starts playing
the Blu-ray disc.NOTE:The Blu-ray player has basic control functions
such as Menu, Play, Pause, FF, RW and Stop.
2. To watch a Blu-ray disc on Screen 1 for second row
passengers, ensure the Remote Control and Head-
phone switch is on Channel 1.
3. To watch a Blu-ray disc on Screen 2 for third row
passengers, ensure the Remote Control and Head-
phone switch is on Channel 2.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the SOURCE button on the Blu-ray player Re-
mote Control.
2. While looking at Screen 1 or 2, highlight Blu-ray by
either pressing Up/Down/Left/Right buttons or by
repeatedly pressing the SOURCE button, then press
OK on the Remote Control.

•Other compression formats such as AAC, MP3 Pro,
Ogg Vorbis, and ATRAC3 will not play. The DVD
player will automatically skip the file and begin play-
ing the next available file.
•If you are creating your own files, the recommended
fixed bit rate for MP3 files is between 96 and 192Kbps
and the recommended fixed bit rate for WMA files is
between 64 and 192Kbps. Variable bit rates are also
supported. For both formats, the recommended
sample rate is either 44.1kHz or 48kHz.
•To change the current file, use the remote control’s or
DVD player ’sbutton to advance to the next file, or
thebutton to return to the start of the current or
previous file.
•To change the current directory, use the remote con-
trol’s PROG UP and Down buttons or Rewind/skip
back and fast fwd/skip forward.Disc Errors
If the DVD player is unable to read the disc, aDisc Error
message is displayed on the VES™ and Radio displays
and the disc is automatically ejected. A dirty, damaged, or
incompatible disc format are all potential causes for a
Disc Errormessage.
If a disc has a damaged track which results in audible or
visible errors that persists for 2.0 seconds, the DVD
player will attempt to continue playing the disc by
skipping forward 1.0 to 3.0 seconds at a time. If the end
of the disc is reached, the DVD player will return to the
beginning of the disc and attempt to play the start of the
first track.
