If this warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel, automatic application / release is
deactivated. The parking brake must
be applied and released manually. y
Before leaving the vehicle, check that
the the brake warning lamp and the Pwarning lamp in the control lever Aare on fixed (not flashing).

If towing a trailer or caravan or if theslope might vary (transpor t by boat or lorry, recovery of the vehicle...) make a maximum application of the parking brake - by making a long pull on the
control lever A
- to immobilise thevehicle.

Manual Application/Release
Manual applicationof the parking brake is possible by pulling
the control lever A.With the ignition on, manual release
of the parking brake is possible by pressing the brake pedal
and pulling
then releasing
the control lever A
.
If an audible signal is heard on opening the driver's door with the hybrid system active, apply the parking brake
manually. Do not leave a child alone in the vehiclewith the ignition on; they might releasethe parking brake.
Automatic Application / Release
Press the accelerator pedal, the parking brake
is released automatically and progressively as you move off.
With the vehicle stationary, the parking brake
is applied automatically on switching off the
ignition (Readylamp off).

- Make a shor t press on the START/STOPbutton.
- The s
ystem shuts down and the steeringcolumn locks.
When your vehicle vehicle moves off in electric mode, it makes no noise. Be ver y careful of pedestrians as they will not hear you coming.
For more information, see the section on "Underbonnet precautions/warnings".
When stationary, switch off the ignitionand check that the Ready
lamp is off before leaving the vehicle, other wisethe hybrid system will still be active.

Electronic engine immobiliser
The keys contain an electronic chip which hasa secret code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be recognised in order for
starting to be possible. This electronic engine immobiliser locks the
engine management system a few minutes after the ignition is switched off and prevents
starting of the engine by anyone who does not have the key.
In the event of a malfunction, you are informed
by a message in the instrument panel screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not start; contacta CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.
Ignition on without starting
the engine
(accessory position)
With the electronic key in the reader or the
Keyless Entry and Star ting key inside the
vehicle, pressing the "START/STOP" button,
with no action on the pedals, allows the ignition
to be switched on and so activate the ancillary equipment.
)
Press the "START/STOP" button,
the instrument panel comes on but the engine does not star t. ) Press the button again to switch
off the ignition and so allow the
vehicle to be locked.
If you use the accessory position for toolong, the system automatically goes intoeconomy mode to avoid the risk of a flatbattery.

ECO OFF switch
This function prevents the Diesel engine
being switched off and so ensures that a comfor table temperature can be maintained in
the passenger compar tment (air conditioningrunning continuously). On pressing the switch, the engine restar ts
immediately.
To return to normal operation, press the switch
again.
After switching off the ignition, the vehicle will return to normal operation (lamp in the switch off).
*
Except in ZEV mode, which favours electric
running over assuring a comfortable
temperature.
During electric running and when the engine is
stopped, the hybrid system manages restarting
automatically to assure comfor t levels in the
passenger compartment * .
However, variations in temperature may still be felt in very hot climates. To avoid anydiscomfor t in these conditions you can operate
the ECO OFF switch.

The high voltage battery must not in anycircumstances be charged from an external source and must only be handled by a
workshop technician.
There is the risk o
f serious burns, as well as electric arcs that could cause serious injury or
even death.
A used Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) type high voltage battery must be removed in an
appropriate manner by a repair workshop,so that its recycling presents no risk to the environment.
High voltage
The voltage used for the operation of theelectric motor is in the range 150 to 270 Volts.
Be sure to take account of the warning labels
fitted to the vehicle.
Ta k e great care regarding the high voltage andhigh temperatures of components carrying the current.
Emergency cut-off
In the event of an accident, a cut-off system blocks the high voltage current and cuts off
the fuel pump; your vehicle can no longer be started.
To restar t the hybrid system, contact a CITROËN dealer.
High voltage cables are routed under the
vehicle
(sills); take care not to damage them
when the vehicle is used for off-road activity (such as covering rough ground).
Be
fore doing any workon the vehicle, switch off the ignition (Readylamp off).
Battery precautions
Hi
gh voltage cables
Take care to position lifting equipment(jack, hoist, ...) at the locations provided to avoid damaging the cables.
Never touch, dismantle, remove or replace the high voltage par ts, orange cables or connectors, even in the eventof an accident.

Underbonnet precautions / warnings
The alternator-star ter motor of your hybrid
vehicle is also supplied at high voltage. If the
vehicle ignition has not been switched off, there
is a risk of the engine restar ting at any time.
Alwa
ys ensure that the
ignition is switched off (Readylamp off) before
opening the bonnet.
Also ensure that the ignition is switchedoff when refuelling to avoid the engine restarting.
