The various alert situations are described in the table below.
In the event of a fault with the electric parking brake it is recommended that you contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.

- Pull and hold the control lever for about 7 to 15 seconds, until the warning lampcomes on in the instrument panel.
If this procedure does not work, you should make your vehicle safe:
- Park on a level surface.
- Engage a gear with a manual or electronic gearbox, or place the gear selector inposition Pwith an automatic gearbox.
- If possible, fit a wheel chock.
Call on a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

- The parking brake does not have its full per formance to securely hold the vehicle
in all situations.
You should make your vehicle safe:
- Park on a level surface.

Call on a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
The flashin
g of the Pwarning lamps on star ting the vehicle indicates that the parkingbrake is not correctly applied.
As soon as possible, stop the vehicle and try to completely release the parking brake, using the control lever, with your foot on the brake pedal.

- The state of charge of the battery is very low and requires immobilisation of the
vehicle in a safe place: engage a gear with a manual gearbox or fit a chock toone of the wheels.
- Once the battery is completely discharged, the controls do not operate: to
release the parking brake, call on a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Hill start assist
System which keeps your vehicle immobilised
temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) whenstarting on a gradient, the time it takes to
move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. This system only operates when:
- the vehicle is completely stationary, withyour foot on the brake pedal,
- cer tain conditions of slope are met,
- with the driver’s door closed.
The hill star t assist system cannot be deactivated.
On an ascendin
g slope, with the vehiclestationary, the vehicle is held for amomentarily when you release the brakepedal:
- provided you are in first gear or neutral on
a manual gearbox,
- provided you are in position A
or M
on an electronic gearbox, Dor Mon an automatic gearbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, thevehicle is held momentarily when yourelease the brake pedal.
Operating fault
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning lamps come on, accompanied by an alert message. Contact a CITROËN dealer or
a qualified workshop to have the systemchecked.
Do not exit the vehicle while it is beingheld in the hill star t assist phase.
If you need to exit the vehicle withthe engine running, apply the parkingbrake manually then ensure that theparking brake warning lamp (and the warning lamp P
in the lever of theelectric parking brake) are on fixed (not flashing).
