Stopping the vehicle
Before switching off the engine, you can engageposition Por Nto place the gearbox in neutral. In both cases, apply the parking brake to immobilise the vehicle.


Operating fault
When the ignition is on, the lighting
of this warning lamp, accompaniedby an audible signal and a message in the
multifunction screen, indicates a gearbox fault.
In this case, the gearbox switches to back-up
mode and is locked in 3rd gear. You may feel
a substantial knock when changing from Pto R
and from N
to R
. This will not cause any
damage to the gearbox.
Do not exceed 60 mph (10 0 km/h), local speed
restrictions permitting.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible.
To r e d u c e fuel consumption when at a prolonged standstill with the enginerunning (traffic jam...), put the gear lever in the Nposition and apply the parkingbrake.



There is a risk of damage to thegearbox:


- if you press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time,

- if you force the movement of the gear lever from the Pposition to another position when the battery is flat.
If the lever is not in position P, when the Pdriver's door is opened or approximately 45 seconds after the ignition is switchedoff, a warning message appears in the screen.)Return the lever to position P
; the
message disappears.

If the en
gine speed is too low or too high, the gear selected flashes for a few seconds, then
the actual gear engaged is displayed.
It is possible to change from position D(automatic) to position M
(manual) at any time.
When the vehicle is stationary or moving
very slowly, the gearbox selects gear M1automatically.
The spor t and snow programmes do not
operate in manual mode.

Adjust the pressure using the compressor (to inflate: switch B

tyre pressure label (located on the left hand
door aperture).
A loss of pressure indicates that thepuncture has not been fully plugged; contact a CITROËN dealer or qualified
workshop for assistance. ) Remove and stow the kit. )
Drive at reduced speed (50 mph [80 km/h]max) limiting the distance travelled to
approximately 120 miles (200 km).

Beware of discharges of fluid.
The expiry date of the fluid is indicated on the car tridge.
The sealant car tridge is designed for single use; even if only par tly used, itmust be replaced. After use, do not discard the car tridge into the environment, take it to anauthorised waste disposal site or aCITRO

Snow chains
In wintry conditions, snow chains improve traction as well as the behaviour of the vehicle when
braking.

The snow chains must be fitted only to the front wheels. They must never be fitted to "space-saver" type sparewheels.
Take account of the legislation in forcein your country on the use of snow chains and the maximum running speed authorised.


Avoid driving on roads that have been cleared of snow, to avoid damaging your vehicle's tyres and the roadsurface. It is recommended that before you leave, you practise fitting the snowchains on a level and dry surface.If your vehicle is fitted with alloy wheels,check that no par t of the chain or itsfixings is in contact with the wheel rim.

Advice on installation

vehicle.)Fit the chains following the instructionsprovided by the manufacturer. )Move off gently and drive for a fewmoments, without exceeding 30 mph (50 km/h). )Stop your vehicle and check that the snow chains are correctly tightened.

Starting using another
batter

Charging the battery using
a battery charger
When the battery on your vehicle is discharged,
the engine can be star ted using a slave battery (external or on another vehicle) and jump leads.
)Follow the instructions for use provided by
the manufacturer of the charger.
First check that the slave battery has a nominalvoltage of 12 V and a capacity at least equal to
that of the discharged battery.
Do not try to star t the engine by connecting a
batter
y charger.
Do not disconnect the (+) terminal when the engine is running.
)Connect the red cable to the positive
terminal (+) of the flat battery A , then to the positive terminal (+) of the slave battery B.)Connect one end of the green or blackcable to the negative terminal (-) of the
slave battery B(or ear th point on the other
vehicle).)Connect the other end of the green or black cable to the negative terminal C (or
the engine mounting) of the broken-down
vehicle.)Star t the engine of the other vehicle and
allow it to run for a few minutes.
Do not disconnect the battery to charge it.
)
Operate the star ter of the broken-down
vehicle and let the engine run.
If the engine does not star t immediately,switch off the ignition and wait a few
moments before trying again.) Wait until the engine returns to idle, then
disconnect the jump leads in reverse order.


Batteries contain harmful substances such as sulphuric acid and lead. They must bedisposed of in accordance with regulations and must not, in any circumstances, be discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries andvehicle batteries to a special collection
point.

Energy economy mode


Exiting economy mode

These functions are reactivated automaticallythe next time the vehicle is driven. )In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, star t the engine and
let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be double
the period for which the engine is left running. However, this period will always be betweenfive and thir ty minutes.

Switching to economy mode
Once this period has elapsed, a message
appears on the multifunction screen indicating
that the vehicle has switched to economy mode
and the active functions are put on standby.
A flat battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the corresponding paragraph).
If the telephone is being used at the same time on the eMyWay audionavigation system, it will be interrupted after 10 minutes. S
ystem which manages the period of use of certain functions to conserve a sufficient level
of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you canstill use functions such as the audio equipment, windscreen wipers, dippedbeam headlamps, cour tesy lamps, etc. for a
maximum combined period of thirty minutes. S
ystem which manages the use of cer tain
functions according to the level of chargeremaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the loadreduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated automatically as soon as conditions permit.








Load reduction mode
This period may be greatly reduced if the battery is not fully charged.
