STATUS 5
Reinitialise status ET415 on the injection computer by running command
RZ001 Fault memory.
If status ET415 changes to STATUS 5, deal with present faults or those stored in
the injection computer.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
STATUS 6Gear lever in neutral (manual gearbox) or neutral (automatic gearbox)
Status ET415 changes to STATUS 6, when driving, with cruise control active (ET042:
CRUISE CONTROL) and:
– if the driver puts the gear lever in neutral position on a manual gearbox without
declutching or,
– if the gear lever is put in neutral on an automatic transmission.
This deactivates cruise control.
Reinitialise status ET415 on the injection computer by running command
RZ001 Fault memory.
If status ET415 becomes STATUS 6 without shifting the gear lever into neutral on
a manual gearbox without declutching, or into the neutral position on an automatic
transmission, run fault finding on the ABS computer and check the configuration of the
tyre size stored in the computer. If the configuration is correct, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out a road test, then check with the diagnostic tool.

STATUS 7
Lack of correlation between the request and the vehicle speed
Status ET415 becomes STATUS 7 if the computer detects too great a difference
between the speed requested by the driver and the vehicle speed.
This could occur when driving with the cruise control active (ET042 Cruise control /
speed limiter: CRUISE CONTROL) on very steep terrain.
This inconsistency deactivates cruise control.
Reinitialise status ET415 on the injection computer by running command RZ001
Fault memory.
If status ET415 becomes STATUS 7 where the surface is not uneven, contact the
Techline.
STATUS 8Automatic gearbox in defect mode.
Status ET415 becomes STATUS 8, when driving with cruise control active
(ET042: CRUISE CONTROL) and if the automatic transmission is in defect mode.
This signal is conveyed on the multiplex line and deactivates the cruise control.
Carry out a multiplex network test, then run fault finding on the automatic transmission
computer.
Deal with any present or stored faults (see 23A, Automatic transmission).
Clear the automatic transmission computer memory by running command RZ001.
Reinitialise status ET415 on the injection computer by running command
RZ001 Fault memory.
If STATUS 8 is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRCarry out a road test, then check with the diagnostic tool.

Fault finding – Interpretation of commands13B
VP036INHIBIT FUEL SUPPLY
NOTESThis command enables you to disable the supply to the injectors.
This command is carried out with the engine switched off, and ignition on.
This command allows the injectors to be locked, so that starting is not possible.
Command VP036 allows the engine compressions to be checked in complete safety without disconnecting the
connectors of the injectors or the TDC sensor.
Procedure to follow (cylinder no. 1 is located on the timing end):
– Remove all of the heater plugs, connect the compression gauge with the M9R flexible end piece, part no.
MOT 1772, to a cylinder.
– Position the gear lever in neutral (manual gearbox) or to position P (automatic/sequential gearbox).
– Depress the brake pedal and keep it in this position throughout the test.
– Activate command VP036.
– Attempt to start the vehicle (within 10 seconds of activating command VP036).
If the vehicle does not start, check the cylinder compressions.
Start the procedure again on another cylinder.
WARNING:
Keep the brake pedal depressed for the length of the test.
This command is inhibited automatically after 10 seconds.

Fault finding – Test13B
TEST6 Fuel return rail valve check
This test consists of creating a vacuum downstream of the anti-return valve of the injector return rail and checking
whether fuel is drawn in by the valve.
Fitting:
Remove the rail protector.
Disconnect the union of the return rail on injector 4 (on the gearbox side).
Disconnect the union downstream of the anti-return valve.
Connect the 8 mm quick-release coupling.
Connect a transparent hose (resistant to diesel, length 60 cm and internal diameter 8 mm).
Connect a manual vacuum pump.
Gradually apply a vacuum up to 0.5 bar.
If more than a cm of diesel is quickly drawn into the hose, the valve is leaking. Stop the vacuum immediately.
Replace the diesel injector fuel return rail and its overpressure valve (see MR364 (Mégane II ph2), MR370 (Scénic
II ph2), MR 395 (Laguna II ph2), MR 402 (Vel-Satis ph2), MR405 (Espace IV ph2) Mechanical, 13B, Diesel
injection, Diesel injector fuel return rail: Removal - Refitting).
Otherwise, maintain the vacuum for 1 minute.
If less than a cm of diesel is drawn into the hose, the valve of the rail is not leaking.
End of test.
