into the PCM's integral SIM card reader,
calls can be made using either the hands- free facility or the optionally available
cordless handset. Alternatively, the

SIM Access Profile (SAP)

The optional electronic logbook enables
automatic recording of mileage, route dis-
tance, date and time, starting point and
destination as part of every journey. Once you have downloaded the logbooks from
the PCM via Bluetooth® or the USB inter

face, the data can be evaluated on your
home PC using the software supplied.

Almost all of the functions of the PCM
can be activated by voice control. The
system recognises commands or figure
sequences irrespective of the speaker.
It gives audible feedback and guides you through the functions. Without needing to
‘train’ the system, phone book entries can
be retrieved, a radio station selected or
the navigation destination entered directly
by speaking whole words rather than dic
-
tating just one let ter at a time.

the Handsfree Profile (HFP), an optional
hands-free facilit y is available. With HFP,
the PCM acts merely as a hands-free
system and can be used to control the basic functions of the phone. The GSM
connection is established through the

aerial of the mobile phone.

[2] Porsche Vehicle Tracking System
(PV TS)
Enables remote location of a stolen vehicle
within 27 European countries as well as
Russia and South Africa. Location is not
continual, but occurs only in the event of
an alarm. A silent alarm is automatically triggered if the car is stolen or tampered
with, or after notification from the vehicle
owner. PV TS has been thoroughly tested
in all of these countries to ensure that the
service fully meets strict Porsche require
-
ments. Your Porsche Centre will be happy
to provide you with further information. Only for vehicles with optional factory-

fit ted preparation for Porsche Vehicle
Tracking System (PV TS).
A separate contract with the service
provider recommended by your Porsche
Centre is required, which is subject to
additional charges.
