Rear compartment Located under the boot floor, this compar tment gives access to the cooling system reser voir.
FOpen the boot.FDetach the carpet retaining adhesive strip. FRemove the boot carpet.

Remove the four "butterfly" screws.F
Remove the protective cover. FCheck the coolant level and top up if necessary (see following pages).
When working in this compar tment, you must observe the safetyrecommendations on the labels.

The coolant level should be between
the MIN "L" and MA X "F" marks.
Coolant level
Avoid prolonged contact of used fluids with the skin.
Most of these fluids are harmful tohealth and some are very corrosive.
Do not discard used fluids into sewers or onto the ground.
Ta k e u s e d fluids to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or toan authorised waste disposal site.

Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.
Coolant specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
As the coolin
g system is pressurised, wait at least one hour after switching off the motor and/
or the end of the charge cycle before carryingout any work.
To a v o i d a ny risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.

Remove the battery protective cover to check
this level
(see § "ancillaries battery").The electrolyte level should be between theMIN "LOWER LEVEL" and MA X "UPPER LEVEL".
If necessary, top up using distilled water byremoving the individual battery caps.
Check the electrolyte level at least onceper month.
