Vent ilat ion
The air circulating in the passenger compartment
is filtered and originates either from the outside
via the grille located at the base of the windscreen or from the inside in air recirculation mode. S
ystem which creates and maintains goodconditions of comfor t and visibility in the
vehicle's passenger compartment.
Controls
The incoming air follows various routes
depending on the controls selected.
The temperature control enables you to obtain
the level of comfor t required by mixing the air of
the various circuits.
The air distribution control enables you toselect the air vents used in the passenger compartment.
The air flow control enables you to increase or
reduce the speed of the ventilation fan.
These controls are
grouped together on controlpanel Aon the centre console.
Air distribution
1.Windscreen demisting/defrosting vents.
2. Front side window demisting/defrosting
vents. 3. Side adjustable air vents.
4.Central adjustable air vents.
5.Air outlets to the front footwells.

In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and maintenance guidelines below: FIf the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been parked in the
sun for a considerable time, first ventilate the passenger compar tment for a few minutesby opening the windows. Place the air flow control at a sufficient level to provide an adequate renewal of air in the passenger compartment.FCondensation created by the air conditioning results in a discharge of water under thevehicle when stationary, which is per fectly normal.FTo obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obstruct the exterior air intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, the nozzles, the vents and the air outlets, as wellas the air extractor located in the boot. FUse in preference the intake of exterior air as prolonged use of the air recirculation maycause misting of the windows and side windows.FOperate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a month to keep itin good working order. FEnsure that the passenger compar tment filter is in good condition and have the filter elements replaced regularly (refer to "Checks").FTo ensure correct operation of the air conditioning system, you are also advised to have it checked regularly.FIf the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Recommendations for ventilation and air conditioning
The heating and air conditioning useenergy from the main battery. Their useincreases electrical consumption and reduces the range of the vehicle.
Remember to switch off the heating or air conditioning as soon as it is no longer needed.

Checks
Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicing booklet.
Other wise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Passenger compartment filter
Refer to the ser vicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter vals
f
or this filter.
Depending on the environment (e.g.
dusty atmosphere) and the use of the vehicle (e.g. city driving), replace it twice as often if necessary.y A dirty passenger compartment filter may have
an adverse effect on the performance of the air conditioning system and generate undesirableodours.
Brake wear depends on the style
o
f driving, par ticularly in the case
of vehicles used in town, over shor t
distances. It ma
y be necessary tohave the condition of the brakes checked, evenbetween vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in
the brake fluid level indicates that the brake
pads are worn.
Brake pads
Only use products recommended by PEUGEOT or products of equivalent quality and specifications. In order to optimise the operationof units as impor tant as the braking system, PEUGEOT selects and offers very specific products.
Parking brake
If a loss of effectiveness of thissystem is noticed, the parking brakemust be checked, even between two services.
This system must be checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
Brake disc /
drum wear
For information on checking the
brake disc or drum wear, contact
a PEUGE
OT dealer or a qualified
workshop.
