Hybrid system
The electronic power super visor - 4automatically manages the operation of the two power units(Diesel and electric) to provide the lowest consumption.
An inver ter and a transformer are needed to manage the electric power.
The inver ter acts on the torque of the electric motor, by regulating the current coming from the high
voltage battery pack. Its operating range is between 150 and 270 volts.
The trans
former conver ts the 200 V of the battery pack to 12 V, to power the vehicle's ancillary
systems.
Th
e Stop & Star t system - 5
allows the Diesel engine to be put into standby during stops (traffic
lights, a stop, or in a traffic jam, for example) or during phases of running in all-electric mode.
The stopping and restar ting of the Diesel engine is done in a way that is instantaneous and
transparent for the driver.
Th
e electronicgearbox - 6provides, in automatic mode, significant savings in fuel consumption compared to a conventional manual gearbox, thanks to its electronic control system.
It also offers improved driving pleasure with the possibility at any time of choosing the gear changing mode: automatic or manual, using the paddles located behind the steering wheel.

Starting - stopping the engine

- Press the brake pedal.
- Make a single shor t press (about one second) on the STA R T/STOP
button or
turn the key fully towards the dashboard to
position 3(Starting).
- The steering column unlocks (noise and
noticeable movement).
- Keep your foot on the brake pedal until theHYbrid4 system starts up (the instrument
panel and the Readylamp come on, confirmed by an audible signal).
The hybrid system determines whether it is
necessary to star t the Diesel engine.



- Place the gear selector in position N.

- If the vehicle has Keyless Entry and Starting, simply having the key inside the
vehicle is sufficient.

- Other wise, it is necessary to place the key
in the i
gnition switch.


When the temperature is below zero, you must
initiate pre-heating of the Diesel engine:-Without putting your foot on the brakepedal , make an initial shor t press (about
one second) on the STA R T/STOP button or
turn the key fully towards the dashboard to position 3 (Starting).

- The steering column unlocks (noise and noticeable movement).

- Wait until the pre-heater warning lampgoes off.-With your foot on the brake pedal
, make
a second shor t press on the STA R T/STOP button or leave the key in position 3(Starting).

- Keep your foot on the brake pedal until the HYbrid4 system starts up (the Ready
lampcomes on, confirmed by an audible signal)and the Diesel engine starts.

Hybrid system
- Before switching off the HYbrid4 system, place the gear selector in position N.
- Make a shor t press on the START/STOPbutton or turn the key fully off to position 1(Stop) then remove the key from theignition switch.
- The system shuts down and the steeringcolumn locks.

When your vehicle vehicle moves off in electric mode, it makes no noise. Be very careful of pedestrians as they will not hear you coming.
Switching off
When stationary, ensure that the ignition is switched off and check that the Readylamp yis off when you want to leave the vehicle, otherwise the hybrid system will still be active.

Emergency starting with the
electronic key
When the electronic key is in the defined zone and your vehicle does not star t after pressingthe "STA R T/STOP" button: )Open the housing below the "START/STOP" button. )Inser t the electronic key in the location A.)Press the "STA R T/STOP" button.

Emergency switch- off using theelectronic key

In the event of an emergency only, the enginecan be switched of without conditions. To dothis, press and hold the "START/STOP" button
for about 3 seconds.
In this case the steering column locks as soon
as the vehicle stops.
if the electronic key is no longer in the defined zone when you request switching off the engine,
a message appears in the instrument panel.
) Press and hold the "STA R T/STOP"
button for about 3 seconds if you want toforce switching off the engine (note that
restarting will not be possible without
the key).
Electronic key not recognised bythe "Keyless Entry and Starting"
system
If the electronic key is no longer in the defined
zone when driving or when you (later) request switching off of the hybrid system, a message
appears in the instrument panel.
Once the engine has started, you can remove the electronic key and close thehousing.
)Press and hold the "STA R T/STOP" button for about 3 seconds if you want to forceswitching off of the hybrid system (note that restarting will not be possible without theelectronic key in the defined zone).
The electronic key must always remaininside the vehicle while in use.

Hybrid system
Automatic restarting of the Diesel engine or ZEV mode NOT available

The internal combustion engine may restar t or ZEV mode may not be available in the various conditions presented below.

The internal combustion engine can be switched off automatically as soon as these conditions are lifted. When the conditions described below causethe vehicle to come out of ZEV mode and the Diesel engine to restar t, the vehicleautomatically changes to AUTO mode.
Diffi cult weather conditions and circumstances
- If certain conditions or engine
temperature requirements make it necessary (such as an enginetemperature that is too low for the ambient conditions). - When the battery is close to maximum charge (for example: when goingdown a long hill), because enginerecovery being no longer possible, theinternal combustion engine restarts automatically just to provide engine braking.- If the vehicle encounters a steep slope (car park ramp, ...).- If the vehicle has been parked in the sun for a prolonged period.- When driving in mountainous conditions (altitude).
Your vehicle is fitted with the most effectiveemissions control systems, in par ticular theParticle Emissions Filter (PEF). At regular intervals your Diesel engine will produce energy for the self-cleaning of this filter.During this PEF regeneration phase, electric running is purposely made unavailable.
Maintaining the performance of the system
- When the vehicle exceeds 18 mph
(30 km/h) after moving off (if the internal combustion engine has not alreadystarted since the vehicle was last started). - If the high voltage battery is notsufficiently charged. A minimum of 4 bars in ZEV mode so as to ensure operation over a cer tain distance (in AUTO, electric operation isaccessible for a shor ter period witha lower level of charge). - When the fuel level enters the reserve zone (where rate of consumption of this reserve is high, ZEV inhibition maycontinue for some time after refuelling).- During regeneration of the par ticle emissions filter, which occurs
automatically for 5 to 10 minutes, approximately every 300 miles(500 kms) (or less in extended urban running).
