Towing a trailer
We recommend the use of genuinePEUGEOT towbars and their harnessesthat have been tested and approved from the design stage of your vehicle, and that the fitting of the towbar is entrusted to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.If the towbar is not fitted by a PEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative that it is fitted in accordance with the vehiclemanufacturer's instructions.

Driving with a trailer places greater demands on the towing vehicle and the driver must take particular care.

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.

Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above
1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced b
y 10 % for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.
)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the
gradient and the ambient
temperature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.



Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine PEUGEOT towbar is used.

Very cold climate screen(s) *

Removable protective screen(s) which prevents the accumulation of snow at the radiator cooling fan.
Depending on version, you have one or two screens.
Fitting
)
Offer up the corresponding screen to thelower or upper section of the front bumper. )
Press around its edge to engage its fixing clips one by one.


Removal
)
Use a screwdriver as a lever to releaseeach of the fixings of each screen in turn.

Do not forget to remove the very coldclimate screen (or screens):


- when the ambient temperature exceeds 10 °C,

- when towing,

- at speeds above 75 mph (120 km/h).

* To avoid any risk of jamming of the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned and
secured correctly,
- never fit one mat on top of another.


"Protection":

The fitting of electrical equipment or accessories which are not recommended by PEUGEOT may resultin a failure of your vehicle's electronicsystem and excessive electrical consumption.
Please note this precaution. Youare advised to contact a PEUGEOTrepresentative to be shown the range of recommended equipment and accessories.
Installation of radiocommunicationtransmitters
Before installing any after-market radiocommunication transmitter, you can
contact a PEUGEOT dealer for thespecification of transmitters which can be fitted (frequency, maximum power,aerial position, specific installation requirements), in line with the Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/10 4/EC).


Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest,warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle. B
y visiting a PEUGEOT dealer, you can also
obtain products for cleaning and maintenance (exterior and interior) - including ecological products in the "TECHNATURE" range, toppingup products (screenwash...), touch-up pens and paint aerosols for the exact colour of your
vehicle, refills (cartridge for the temporary puncture repair kit...), ...

Mats Removable carpet protection.
When
fitting the mat for the first time, on the
driver's side use only the fixings provided in the
wallet attached.
The other mats are simply placed on the carpet.

To a v o i d a ny risk of jamming of the pedals:


- only use mats which are suited tothe fixings already present in thevehicle; these fixings must be used,

- never fit one mat on top of another.
The use of mats not approved by PEUGEOT may inter fere with access tothe pedals and hinder the operation of the cruise control / speed limiter.
To remove the mat on the driver's side: ) move the seat as far back as possible, )
unclip the fixings,)
remove the mat.

o refit the mat on the driver's side: )position the mat correctly, )refit the fixings by pressing, )check that the mat is secured correctly.

Roof bars


For safety reasons and to avoid damaging the
roof, it is essential to use the transverse bars
approved for
your vehicle.When fittin
g roof bars, use only the four fixing points located in the roof frame. The points are
masked by the vehicle doors when closed.
The roof bar fixings include a stud to be fitted to
the hole at each fixing point. Obser ve the fitting instructions and theconditions of use in the guide supplied with the bars.


Maximum authorised weight on the roof bars: 75kg.
If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt thespeed of the vehicle to the profile of the road to avoid damaging the roof barsand the fixings on the roof.
Be sure to refer to national legislation in order to comply with the regulations for transporting objects which are longer than the vehicle.
