Warning lamps
Warning lampis onCauseAction/Observations



Parking brake

fixed. The parking brake is applied or not properly released. With
your foot on the brake pedal, release the parking brake
to switch off the warning lamp.
Observe the safety recommendations.

STOP

gine
oil pressure or the engine coolant temperature. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.

Braking

Checking levels
There are two marks on thedipstick:A= maximum
If you fill past this mark, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop. B= minimum
Never allow the level to fallbelow this mark.
Dipstick
Brake fluid level

The brake fluid level should be close to the
"MA X" mark. If it is not, check the brake pad
w
ear. If a level drops si
gnificantly, have the corresponding system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
Check all of these levels re
gularly and top them up if necessary, unless other wise indicated.
Take care when working under the bonnet, as certain areas of the engine may be extremely hot (risk of burns).
Oil level
The check is carried out either when the ignition is switched on using the oil level indicator on the instrument panel, or using the
dipstick.
This manual check will only be correct if the
vehicle is on level ground and the engine has
been off for more than 30 minutes.
It is normal to top up the oil level between two ser vices (or oil changes). PEUGEOT recommends that you checkthe level, and top up if necessary, every 3 000 miles (5 000 kms). After topping up the oil, the check whenswitching on the ignition with the oillevel indicator in the instrument panelis not valid during the 30 minutes after topping up.


Engine oil change

Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the
interval for this operation.
In order to maintain the reliabilit
y of the engine
and emission control system, the use of
additives in the engine oil is prohibited.

Oil specifi cation

The oil must be the correct grade for your engine and conform to the manufacturer'srecommendations.

For optimum cleaning and to avoid freezing,
this fluid must not be topped up or replaced
with plain water.



Fluid specifi cation

The brake fluid must conform to themanufacturer's recommendations and meet the
D
OT4 standard.


The coolant level should be close to the "MAX" mark but should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the temperature of
the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can
operate with the ignition off.
In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised, wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before carrying out anywork.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped, remove thecap and top up the level.
Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.
Fluid specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.









Used products
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil or fluids
with the skin.

ost of these fluids are harmful to health or indeed very corrosive.
Do not discard used oil or fluids intosewers or onto the ground.Take used oil to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or to an authorised waste disposal site.

In order to optimise the operation of units as impor tant as the brakingsystem, PEUGEOT selects and offers very specific products. To avoid damaging the electrical units, the use of a high pressure washer in the engine compar tment is strictlyprohibited.

noticed, the parking brake must be checked, even between two services.
