Advice when parking:
zDo not the park v ehicle on easily
ig nitable surfaces. The high temperature
of the ex haust system could ignite the
su r f a c e.
zAlwa ys apply the hand brak e firmly.
Ap ply the ha nd brake as firm ly as
possible on uphill or downhill slopes. To
re duce operating forces , d epre ss brake
pedal at the s ame time .
zClose windows.
zBefore switching off ignition, e ngage first
or re ve rse ge ar.
zIf the vehicle is parke d on a leve l surface
or an up hill incline, engag e firs t gear
before switching off ig nition. O n an up hill
incline, also turn the front whe els away
fr o m th e k e r b .
zIf the ve hicle is on a d ow nhill incline,
engage re vers e gear before s witc hing off
the ignition. Also turn the front whee ls
to w a rd s t h e k e rb . zTurn ste ering whe el until lock is felt to
e ng age (anti-theft protection), re moving
i g n i t i o n k ey b e fo r e ha nd .
zSw itch off exterior lam ps, otherwise the
hea dlamp wa rning de vice will s ound
when the driver’s door is opened.
zThe engine cooling fans may run a fter
t h e en g i n e h a s be en s w i t ch ed o ff -

Warning buzzers
W hen s tarting the e ngine or while d riv ing:

When the vehicle is parked and the driver’s
door is opened:

zif any door remains open when the doors

Windscreen wipers

In cas e o f ligh t rain o r mis t, m ov e le ve r
downwards from position O to position Q
and rele ase : S ing le s wipe . Hold for
additiona l wiping cyc le s. Leve r returns
autom atic ally to position O w hen released.
Return the le ver to its original pos ition to
switch off.
