Menus and submenus
Menu overview
The number of menus shown depends on the optional equipment in the vehicle.

Trip menu
Standard displayXPress and hold the % button on the
steering wheel until the Trip menu with
odometer : and trip odometer ; is
shown.
Trip computer "From start" or "From
reset"
The values in the From Start submenu are
calculated from the start of a journey, while
the values in the From Reset submenu are
calculated from the last time the submenu
was reset ( Y page 377).
XPress the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Trip menu.XPress the 9 or : button to select
From Start or From Reset .
Trip computer "From start" (example)
:Distance;Time=Average speed?Average fuel consumption
The From Start trip computer is reset
automatically if:
R the ignition has been switched off for more
than four hours.
R 999 hours have been exceeded.
R 9,999 miles have been exceeded.
When 9,999 hours or 99,999 miles have been
exceeded, the trip computer is automatically
reset From Reset .
Displaying the range and current fuel
consumptionXPress the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Trip menu.XPress the 9 or : button to select
Range .
The current fuel consumption 18
and the
approximate range are displayed.
The approximate range that can be covered
depends on the fuel level and your current
driving style. If there is only a small amount
of fuel left in the fuel tank, the display shows
a vehicle being refueled C instead of the
range.
Digital speedometer
XPress the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Trip menu.XPress 9 or : to select the digital

Resetting values
You can reset the values of the following
functions:
R Trip odometer
R Trip computer "From start"
R Trip computer "From reset"
XPress the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Trip menu.XPress the 9 or : button to select the
function that you wish to reset.XPress a.
Resetting the trip odometer (example)
XPress : to select Yes and press a
to confirm.
Navigation menu
Displaying navigation instructions
In the Navi menu, the multifunction display
shows navigation instructions. Further
information ( Y page 150).

approach the announced change of direction.
Change of direction announced with a
lane recommendation
Lane recommendations are only displayed if
the relevant data is available on the digital
map.:Road into which the change of direction

On multiple-lane roads, COMAND can provide
lane recommendation ? for the next change
of direction. Lanes may be added during a
change of direction.

R O : you have reached the destination or
an intermediate destination.
R New route... ...: COMAND is calculating
the new route.
R Direction of Dest. Off map or

could be calculated to the selected
destination.
Audio menu
Selecting a radio station
i SIRIUS XM satellite radio acts like a
normal radio.

Operating audio player or audio media
Audio data from various audio devices or
media can be played, depending on the
equipment installed in the vehicle.

steering wheel to select the Audio menu.
CD player display (example)
:Current track;Medium (disc number only for DVD
changer)XTo select the next/previous track:

(rapid scrolling): press and hold the

has been reached.
If you press and hold the 9 or :
button, the rapid scrolling speed is increased.
Not all audio devices or media support this
function.
If track information is stored on the audio
device or medium, the multifunction display
will show the number and name of the track.
The current track does not appear in audio
AUX mode ( Auxiliary audio mode: external
audio source connected).

:Gear indicator;Upshift indicator=Engine oil temperature?Coolant temperature
Upshift indicator UP ; indicates that the
engine has reached the overrevving range
when in the manual gearshift program.
Upshift indicator UP ; fades out other
messages until you have shifted up.
When the engine oil temperature is below
80 †, the oil temperature is shown in blue.
Avoid driving at full engine output during this
time.
i S 63 AMG: additionally, the status of the
ECO start/stop function ( Y page 306) will
be displayed.
RACETIMER
Displaying and starting RACETIMER
GWARNING
The RACETIMER feature is only for use on
roads and in conditions where high speed
driving is permitted. Racing on public roads is
prohibited under all circumstances. The driver
is and must always remain responsible for
following posted speed limits.
You can use the RACETIMER to store lap
times.
When RACETIMER is displayed, you cannot
adjust the volume using the W and X
buttons on the steering wheel.XPress = or ; on the steering wheel
to select the AMG menu.XPress the 9 button repeatedly until the
RACETIMER is shown.:Gear indicator;Seconds indicator=RACETIMER?Lap
You can start the RACETIMER when the
engine is running or if the SmartKey is in
position 2 in the ignition lock.
XTo start: press the W button to start the
RACETIMER.XTo display the intermediate time: press
the X button to show the intermediate
time.
The intermediate time is displayed for five
seconds.XTo stop: press the W button to stop the
RACETIMER.
The RACETIMER interrupts timing when you
stop the vehicle and turn the SmartKey to
position 1 in the ignition lock. When you turn
the SmartKey to position 2 or 3 and then
press the W button, timing is continued.
Storing the lap time and starting a new lap
It is possible to store a maximum of sixteen
laps.

XPress the X button on the steering
wheel to show the intermediate time during
timing.
The intermediate time is displayed for five
seconds.XPress the X button again within five
seconds.
The displayed intermediate time is stored
as a lap time.
Timing starts for a new lap. The new lap is
timed from when the intermediate time is
called up.:Gear indicator;RACETIMER=Fastest lap time (best lap)
Resetting the current lap
XPress the W button on the steering
wheel to stop the RACETIMER.XPress X to reset the lap time to "0”.
Deleting all laps
You cannot delete individual stored laps.
XPress the W button on the steering
wheel to stop the RACETIMER.XPress and hold the X button for a
minimum of three seconds.XPress the W button to start the
RACETIMER.
All laps are deleted.
or
XPress the W button on the steering
wheel to stop the RACETIMER.XPress the a button.
Reset Race Timer appears in the
multifunction display.XPress the : button to select Yes and
press the a button to confirm.
All laps are deleted.
Overall evaluation
This function is shown if you have stored at
least one lap and stopped the RACETIMER.

Lap evaluation
This function is only available if you have
stored at least two laps and have stopped the
RACETIMER.
XPress = or ; on the steering wheel
to select the AMG menu.XPress the 9 button repeatedly until the
lap evaluation is shown.
Each lap is shown in a separate submenu.
The fastest lap is indicated by flashing
symbol :.:Lap;Lap time=Top speed during lap?Lap lengthAAverage lap speedXPress the 9 or : button to select a
different lap evaluation.
Telephone menu
Introduction
You can establish a Bluetooth ®
connection to
COMAND ( Y page 195).
GWARNING
A driver's attention to the road must always
be his/her primary focus when driving. For
your safety and the safety of others, we
recommend that you pull over to a safe
location and stop before placing or taking a
telephone call. If you choose to use the
telephone while driving, please use the hands-
free device and only use the telephone when
weather, road and traffic conditions permit.
Some jurisdictions prohibit the driver from
using a mobile phone while driving a vehicle.
Bear in mind that at a speed of just 30 mph
(approximately 50 km/h ), your vehicle is
covering a distance of 44 feet (approximately
14 m) every second.XSwitch on the mobile phone and COMAND
( Y page 133).XPress the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Telephone
menu.
You will see one of the following display
messages in the multifunction display:
R Telephone Ready or the name of the
network provider: the mobile phone has
found a network and is ready to receive.
R No Service : no network is available, or the
mobile phone is searching for a network.
Accepting a call
If someone calls you when you are in the
Telephone menu, a display message
appears in the multifunction display, for
example:
XPress the 6 button on the steering
wheel to accept an incoming call.
If you are not in the Telephone menu, you
can still accept a call.
Rejects or ends a call
XPress the ~ button on the steering
wheel.
If you are not in the Telephone menu, you can
still reject or end a call.
