first be taught-in to the tyre pressure monitor.
If ther eisas ubstantial loss of pressure, the
warning threshold for the warning messag eis
aligned to the referenc evalues taught-in.
Restart the tyre pressure monitor after
adjustin gtothe cold tyr epressure

saved as new referenc evalues. This will
ensure that awarning mess agewillonly
appear if the tyre pressure drops significantly.
The tyre pressure monitor doe snot warn you
of an incorrectly set tyr epressure. Observe
th en otes on the recommended tyr epressure
(Y page 399).
Th et yre press urem onitor is not able to warn

Driving safety may be impaired if non-
approved parts ,tyres and wheels or safety-
relevant accessories are used.
This could lead to malfunctions in safety-rel-
evant systems, e.g. the brake system. This
could cause you to lose control of your vehicle
and cause an accident.
For this reason, Mercedes-Benz recommends
that you use genuine Mercedes-Benz parts or
parts of equal quality. Only use tyres, wheels
and accessories that have been specifically
approved for your vehicle. H
Environmental note
Daimler AG also supplies reconditioned
assemblies and parts which are of the same
quality as new parts. For these, the same war-
ranty applies as for new parts.
! Airbags and seat belt tensioners, as well
as control units and sensors for these
restraint systems, may be installed in the
following areas of your vehicle:
R doors
R doo rpillars
R door sills
R seats
R dashboard
R instrument cluster
R centre console
Do not install accessories such as audio
systems in these areas. Do not carr yout

Mercedes-Benz tests genuine parts and con-
version parts and accessories that have been
specifically approved for your vehicle for their
reliability, safety and suitability. Despite
ongoing market research, Mercedes-Benz is
unable to assess other parts. Mercedes-Benz
accepts no responsibility for the use of parts
that have been independently or officially
approved.
In Germany, certain parts are only officially
approved for installatio normodification if
they comply with legal requirements. This
also applies to some other coun tries. All gen-

requirements. The use of non-approved parts
may invalidat ethe vehicle' sgeneral operating

Alway suseasuitabl ecoolant mixture,
even in countries where high temperatures
prevail.
Otherwise, the engin ecooling system is not
sufficiently protected from corrosion and
overheating.
! The engin ecooling system is filled with
coolant, which must be renewed after
15 years or after 250,000 kilometres at the
latest.
The coolant is amixtur eofw ater and anti-
freeze/corrosio ninhibitor. It performs the
following tasks:
R anti-corrosio nprotection
R antifreeze protection
R raising th eboiling point
If antifreeze/ corrosion inhibitor is presen tin
the correct concentration, the boil ingp oint of
the coolant during operation will be approx-
imately 13 0†.
The antifreeze/ corrosion inhibitor concentra-
tion in the engin ecooling system should:
R be at least 50%. This will protect the engine
coolin gsystem against freezing down to
approximatel y-37 †.
R not exceed 55% (antifreeze protection
down to -45 †). Hea twill otherwise not be
dissipated as effectively.
If the vehicle has lost coolant, top it up with
equa lamounts of water and antifreeze/cor-
rosio ninhibitor. Mercedes-Benz recom-
mends an antifreeze/corrosion inhibito rcon-
cen trate in accordance with MB Specifica-
