The battery and the fuse box in front of the battery are located on the oppo-
site side of the engine compartment.

Checking and replacing fuses
Turn the engine switch off.
After a system failure, see “Fuse layout and amperage ratings”
for details about which fuse to check. (P. 705)
Open the fuse box cover.
Engine compartment: type A fuse box (left-hand drive vehicles)
Push the tab in and lift the lid
off.
Engine compartment: type A fuse box (right-hand drive vehicles)
Push the tab in and lift the lid
off.
If any of the electrical components do not operate, a fuse may have
blown. If this happens, check and replace the fuses as necessary.

Push the tab in and lift the lid
off.
Left side instrument panel (left-hand drive vehicles)
Remove the lid.
Left side instrument panel (right-hand drive vehicles)
Remove the lid.

Trunk
Push the tab in and lift the lid
off.
Remove the lid.
Remove the fuse with the pull-
out tool.
Only type A fuse can be removed
using the pullout tool.

Blown fuse
Type A and B:
Replace the blown fuse with a new fuse of an appropriate amperage rating.
The amperage rating can be found on the fuse box lid.
