Secure children that weigh between 29and 40 pounds (13 and 18 kilogrammes)in a child safety seat (Group 1) on the rearseat.
Booster Seats
WARNINGS
Do not install a booster seat or abooster cushion with only the lapstrap of the seat belt.
Do not install a booster seat or abooster cushion with a seat belt thatis slack or twisted.
Do not put the seat belt under yourchild’s arm or behind their back.
Do not use pillows, books or towelsto boost your child’s height.
Make sure that your children sit in anupright position.
Note:When using a child seat on a rearseat, make sure that the child seat reststightly against your vehicle seat. It may benecessary to lift or remove the headrestraint. See Head Restraints (page 76).
Booster Seat (Group 2)
Secure children that weigh more than 33pounds (15 kilogrammes) but are less than59 inches (150 centimetres) tall in abooster seat or a booster cushion.
We recommend that you use a boosterseat that combines a cushion with abackrest instead of a booster cushion only.The raised seating position will allow youto position the shoulder strap of the adultseat belt over the centre of your child’sshoulder and the lap strap tightly acrosstheir hips.

WARNING
Use an anti-rotation device whenusing the ISOFIX system. Werecommend the use of a top tetheror support leg.
Note:When you are purchasing an ISOFIXseat, make sure that you know the correctmass group and ISOFIX size class for theintended seating locations. See Child SeatPositioning (page 16).
Your vehicle has ISOFIX anchor points thataccommodate universally approvedISOFIX child seats.
The ISOFIX system comprises two rigidattachment arms on the child seat thatattach to anchor points on the outboardrear seats, where the cushion and backrestmeet. Tether anchor points are locatedbehind the outboard rear seats for childseats with a top tether.

Attaching a Child Seat With TopTethers
WARNINGS
Do not attach a tether strap toanything other than the correcttether anchor point.
Make sure that the top tether strapis not slack or twisted and is properlylocated on the anchor point.
Note:Where applicable, remove theluggage cover to ease installation. SeeLuggage Covers (page 114).
1.Route the tether strap to the anchorpoint.
2.Push the child seat back firmly toengage the ISOFIX lower anchor points.
3.Tighten the tether strap in line with thechild seat manufacturer's instructions.

Extreme Hazard! Do not use arearward facing child seat on a seatprotected by an air bag in front of it!
When using a child seat with asupport leg, the support leg mustrest securely on the floor.
When using a child seat with a seatbelt, make sure that the seat belt isnot slack or twisted.
WARNINGS
The child seat must rest tightlyagainst the vehicle seat. It may benecessary to lift or remove the headrestraint. See Head Restraints (page 76).
Note:When using a child seat on a frontseat, always adjust the front passenger'sseat to its fully rearward position. If it provesdifficult to tighten the lap section of the seatbelt without slack remaining, adjust theseatback to the fully upright position andraise the height of the seat. See Seats(page 76).

RADIO FREQUENCIES
Note:Changes or modifications notexpressly approved by the party responsiblefor compliance could void the user’sauthority to operate the equipment.
The typical operating range for yourtransmitter is approximately 33 feet (10metres). A decrease in operating rangecould be caused by:
•weather conditions
•nearby radio towers
•structures around your vehicle
•other vehicles parked next to yourvehicle.
The radio frequency used by your remotecontrol can also be used by other shortdistance radio transmissions (e.g. amateurradios, medical equipment, wirelessheadphones, remote controls and alarmsystems). If the frequencies are jammed,you will not be able to use your remotecontrol. You can lock and unlock the doorswith the key.
Note:Make sure your vehicle is lockedbefore leaving it unattended.
Note:If you are in range, the remote controlwill operate if you press any buttonunintentionally.
REMOTE CONTROL
You can program a maximum of eightremote controls to your vehicle. Thisincludes any that were supplied with yourvehicle. The remote controls must remaininside your vehicle during the programmingprocedure. Fasten the front seat belts andclose all doors to make sure thatconflicting chimes do not sound duringprogramming.
Programming a New RemoteControl
1.Turn the ignition key from position 0 toposition II four times within sixseconds.
2.Turn the ignition to position 0. A tonesounds to indicate that it is nowpossible to program a remote control.
3.Press any button on a new remotecontrol within 10 seconds. A tone willsound as confirmation.
4.Repeat step three within 10 secondsfor each new remote control. Do notremove the key from the ignition whenpressing the button on the remotecontrol.
5.Switch the ignition back on (positionII) or wait for 10 seconds withoutprogramming another remote controlto end the key programming. Only theremote controls which you have justprogrammed are now able to lock andunlock your vehicle.
Reprogramming the UnlockingFunction
Note:When you press the unlock buttoneither all the doors are unlocked or only thedriver’s door and the tailgate are unlocked.Pressing the unlock button again unlocksall the doors.
Press and hold the unlock and lock buttonson the remote control simultaneously forat least four seconds with the ignition off.The direction indicators will flash twice toconfirm the change.
To return to the original unlocking function,repeat the process.

Oil Pressure Warning Lamp
WARNING
Do not resume your journey if itilluminates despite the level beingcorrect. Have the system checked byan authorised dealer immediately.
If it stays on after starting orilluminates when driving, thisindicates a malfunction. Stopyour vehicle as soon as it is safe to do soand switch the engine off. Check the engineoil level. See Engine Oil Check (page 139).
Power Steering Warning Lamp
Illuminates to indicate amalfunction of the powersteering system. You willcontinue to have full steering but will needto exert greater force on the steeringwheel. Have the system checked by anauthorised dealer as soon as possible.
Rear Fog Lamp Indicator
It will illuminate when you switchthe rear fog lamps on.
Seat Belt Minder Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when a seat beltis not fastened. See Seat BeltMinder (page 21).
Shift Indicator
It will illuminate to inform youthat shifting to a higher gear maygive better fuel economy andlower CO2 emissions. It will not illuminateduring periods of high acceleration, brakingor when the clutch pedal is pressed.
Stability Control Indicator
While driving, it flashes when thesystem is operating. After youswitch the ignition on, if it doesnot illuminate or illuminates continuouslywhile driving, this indicates a malfunction.During a malfunction, the system switchesoff. Have the system checked by anauthorised dealer as soon as possible.
If you switch the electronic stabilityprogram off, the warning lamp willilluminate. The lamp will go out when youswitch the system back on or when youswitch the ignition off.

Automatic Transmission
Sounds when you open the driver's doorand do not move the transmission selectorlever to position P.
Key Outside Car
Vehicles With Keyless System
Sounds when you close the door, theengine is running and the system does notdetect a passive key inside your vehicle.
Headlamps On
Sounds when you remove the key from theignition and open the driver's door and youhave left the headlamps or parking lampson.

You can set the temperature between 61°F(16°C) and 82°F (28°C) in steps of 1°F(0.5°C). In position low, the system willswitch to permanent cooling. In positionhigh, the system will switch to permanentheating.
Note:If you select either position low orhigh, the system will not regulate a stabletemperature.
HINTS ON CONTROLLING THE
INTERIOR CLIMATE
General Hints
Note:Prolonged use of recirculated air maycause the windows to fog up.
Note:A small amount of air may be feltfrom the footwell air vents regardless of theair distribution setting.
Note:To reduce humidity build-up insideyour vehicle, do not drive with the systemswitched off or with recirculated air alwaysswitched on.
Note:Do not place objects under the frontseats as this may interfere with the airflowto the rear seats.
Note:Remove any snow, ice or leaves fromthe air intake area at the base of thewindscreen.
Manual Climate Control
Note:To reduce fogging of the windscreenduring humid weather, adjust the airdistribution control to the windscreen airvents position. Increase the temperatureand fan speed to improve clearing, ifrequired.
Automatic Climate Control
Note:Do not adjust the settings when yourvehicle interior is extremely hot or cold. Thesystem automatically adjusts to thepreviously stored settings. For the systemto function efficiently, the instrument paneland side air vents should be fully open.
Note:At low ambient temperatures withAUTO selected, the air stream is directedtoward the windscreen and side windowsfor as long as the engine remains cold.
Note:When the system is switched off,outside air is prevented from entering yourvehicle.
Note:When the system is in AUTO modeand the interior and exterior temperaturesare high, the system automatically selectsrecirculated air to maximize cooling of theinterior. When the selected air temperatureis reached, the system automatically selectsoutside air.
Note:When you select windscreendefrosting and defogging, the instrumentpanel and footwell level functionsautomatically switch off and air conditioningswitches on. Outside air flows into yourvehicle.
