Note The "Scheduled Servicing Plan" requires the
car to be serviced every 30,000 km (or 18,000
miles). This is automatically displayed, when the
ignition key is turned to MAR-ON, starting from
2,000 km (or the equivalent in miles) from this
point and reappears every 200 km (or the
equivalent in miles). Below 200 km servicing
indications are more frequent. The indication will
appear in kilometres or miles depending on the unit
of measurement settings. When the next
scheduled servicing is approaching, the message
"Service" will appear on the display, followed by the
number of kilometres or miles left, when the
ignition key is turned to MAR-ON. Go to a Fiat
Dealership, where the "Scheduled Servicing Plan"
operations will be performed and the message will
be reset.

WARNING
Press the clutch pedal fully to change
gears correctly. It is therefore essential
that there is nothing under the pedals: make
sure the mats are lying flat and do not get
in the way of the pedals.Do not drive with your hand resting on
the gear lever as the force exerted,
even if slight , could lead over time to
premature wear on the gearbox internal
components
FUEL SAVINGSHere are some useful tips to save fuel and minimise
harmful emissions of CO
2and other pollutants
(nitric oxides, unburnt hydrocarbons, fine dusts
etc…).
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
The general factors that affect fuel consumption are
listed below.
Car maintenance
Have checks and adjustments carried out in
accordance with the “Scheduled Servicing Plan”.
Ty r e s
Check the pressure of the tyres routinely at an
interval of no more than 4 weeks: if the pressure is
too low, consumption levels increase as resistance
to rolling is higher.
Unnecessary loads
Do not travel with an overloaded boot. The weight
of the car (especially when driving in town) and
its ride greatly affects consumption and stability.
Roof rack/ski rack
Remove the roof rack or the ski rack from the roof
after use. These accessories lower aerodynamic
penetration and adversely affect consumption

SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE
SCHEDULED SERVICINGCorrect servicing is essential in guaranteeing a long
life for the car under the best conditions.
Fiat has therefore arranged a series of checks and
service operations to be carried out every 30,000
kilometres (for petrol versions) or every 35,000
kilometres (for 1.6 MultiJet and 2.0 MultiJet
versions).
It is, however, important to remember that
scheduled servicing does not completely cover all
the car's requirements: even in the initial period
before 30,000/35,000 km (the latter for 1.6 MultiJet
and 2.0 MultiJet versions), and then subsequently
between one service and another, ordinary care
is still required such as routine checks involving
topping up fluid levels, checking tyre pressures, etc.IMPORTANT The Scheduled Servicing Plan
coupons are set out by the Manufacturer. Failure to
have them carried out may invalidate the warranty.
Scheduled Servicing is performed by all Fiat
Dealerships, at pre-established times.
If, during any service, the need arises for additional
replacements or repairs, these may be carried
out only with the explicit agreement of the
Customer.
IMPORTANT It is advisable to inform a Fiat
Dealership of any small operating irregularities
without waiting for the next service.
If the car is used frequently for towing a trailer, the
interval between services should be reduced.

PERIODIC CHECKSEvery 1,000 km or before long journeys, check and,
if necessary, restore:
❒engine coolant, brake fluid and windscreen
washer fluid level;
❒tyre inflation pressure and condition;
❒operation of lighting system (headlamps,
direction indicators, hazard warning lights, etc.);
❒operation of screen washer/wiper system and
positioning/wear of windscreen/rear window
wiper blades.
Every 3,000 km, check and top up, if required, the
engine oil level.
HEAVY-DUTY USE OF THE CARIf the car is used mainly under one of the following
conditions:
❒towing a trailer or caravan;
❒dusty roads;
❒short, repeated journeys (less than 7-8 km) at
sub-zero outside temperatures;
❒engine often idling or driving long distances at
low speeds or long periods of idleness;
you need to perform the following inspections
more frequently than shown in the Scheduled
Servicing Plan:
❒check front disc brake pad conditions and wear;
❒check cleanliness of bonnet and boot locks,
cleanliness and lubrication of linkage;

WARNING
Do not travel with the windscreen
washer reservoir empty: the windscreen
washer is essential for improving visibility.
Some commercial windscreen washer additives
are flammable.The engine compartment
contains hot components which may set it on
fire.
BRAKE FLUID
Undo the cap A shown in the figure: fig. 210check
that the fluid contained in the reservoir is at the
maximum level. The fluid level in the reservoir must
not exceed the MAX mark. If you need to top up,
you should use the brake fluid shown in the "Fluids
and lubricants" table (see chapter "Technical data").
When opening the cap A, make sure that no dirtgets into the reservoir. Always use a funnel with a
built-in filter with a mesh of 0.12 mm or less for
topping up.
IMPORTANT Brake fluid is hygroscopic (i.e. it
absorbs moisture). For this reason, if the car is
mainly used in areas with a high degree of
atmospheric humidity, the fluid should be replaced
at more frequent intervals than specified in the
“Scheduled Servicing Plan”.
Prevent brake fluid, which is highly
corrosive, from coming into contact with
painted parts. Should it happen,
immediately wash with water.

BATTERYThe car is fitted with a low-maintenance battery: no
top-ups with distilled water are needed in standard
conditions of use. It does, however, need to be
checked periodically at a Fiat Dealership or by
specialist personnel to make sure it is working
correctly.
WARNING
Battery liquid is poisonous and
corrosive. Avoid contact with the skin
and eyes. Keep naked flames and sources of
sparks away from the battery: risk of
explosion and fire.
WARNING
Using the battery with insufficient fluid
irreparably damages the battery and
may cause an explosion.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
If required, replace the battery with an original
spare part with the same specifications. If a battery
with different specifications is fitted, the service
intervals given in the “Scheduled Servicing Plan” will
no longer be valid. Follow the battery
manufacturer's instructions for maintenance.
Incorrect installation of electric and
electronic devices may cause severe
damage to your car. After purchasing
your car, if you wish to install any accessories
(anti-theft , car phone, etc .), contact a Fiat
Dealership, which will suggest the most
appropriate devices for your vehicle, and will,
most importantly, advise you if a higher
capacity batter y needs to be installed.Batteries contain substances which are
ver y dangerous for the environment .
To replace the battery, we recommend
contacting a Fiat Dealership to dispose of your
old battery in full respect of the environment
and in compliance with all applicable laws and
regulations.
WARNING
If the car will be unused for an
extended period of time in extremely
cold weather conditions, remove the battery
and store it in a heated area to avoid it
freezing.
WARNING
Always wear appropriate goggles when
working on or near the battery.
