Limit the causes of excess
consumption
Spread loads throughout the
vehicle; place the heaviest items
in the bottom of the boot, as close
as possible to the rear seats.
Limit the loads carried in the vehi-
cle and reduce wind resistance
(roof bars, roof rack, bicycle car-
rier, trailer...). Use a roof box in
preference. Remove roof bars
and roof racks after use.
At the end of winter, remove
snow tyres and refi t your summer
tyres.
Observe the recommendations
on maintenance
when cold, referring to the label in the door aperture, driver's side.
Carry out this check in particular:-before a long journey,-at each change of season,-after a long period out of use.
Don't forget the spare wheel and
the tyres on any trailer or caravan.
Have your vehicle serviced regu-
larly (engine oil, oil fi lter, air fi lter...)
and observe the schedule of oper-
ations recommended by the manu-
facturer.When refuelling, do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle
to avoid any overfl ow.
At the wheel of your new vehicle,
it is only after the fi rst 1 800 miles
(3 000 kilometres) that you will
see the fuel consumption settle
down to a consistent average.

INSTRUMENT PANEL
An incorrect engine oil level can seriously damage your engine. See "Levels".
On switching on the ignition, theinstrument panel indicates:Firstly, in succession:
Maintenance indicator. See "Maintenance indicator" (next page). The engine oil level indicator.Secondly:

ENGINE OIL LEVEL INDICATOR
This display indicatesnormal ope-
ration.
Flashing of "OIL" indicates an oil level that isbelow the minimum.
Check using the manual dipstick. See "Levels".
Check the engine oil level on hori-
zontal ground with the engine
having been switched off for at least 30 minutes.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
A fl ashing of "OIL – –"indicatesa malfunctioning of the indicator.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualifi ed workshop.

INSTRUMENT PANEL
MAINTENANCE INDICATOR
It informs you when the next routine service is due in accordance with the vehicle servicing schedule in theMaintenance and Warranty Guide. This information is dependent on two parameters: the mileage covered, and the
time elapsedsince the last visit.
Operation
From switching on the ignition and
for a few seconds, the spanner
symbolising maintenance ope-rations lights up; the instrumentpanel tells you the distance remai-ning to the next service.
Example:there remain up to thenext service:
A few seconds after this, the engine
oil level indicator is displayed, then
the total mileage recorder resumesits normal role. The instrumentpanel gives the total and tripmileages.
Operation if the distance tothe next service is less than
600 miles
Each time you switch on the igni-
tion and for 5 seconds, the span-
n
er and the distance fl ash.
Example: there remain up to
the next service: 500 miles. On
switching on the ignition and for 5 seconds, the instrument panel
indicates:
A few seconds after this, the engine oil level indicator is displayed, then
the total mileage recorder resumes its normal role and the mainte-
nance symbol remains lit up.
This is a warnin
g to you that a service must be carried out at the earliest opportunity.
The instrument panel
gives the
total and trip mileages.
Operation if the service
interval has been passed
Each time you switch on the igni-
tion, the maintenance symbol andthe distance covered (preceded bya minus) beyond the recommen-ded interval fl ash.
Example:Yo u have exceeded theservice interval by 300 miles.
The routine service on your vehi-cle needs to be carried as soon aspossible.
A few seconds after switching on
the ignition, the total mileage recor-der resumes its normal role andthe maintenance symbol remainslit up.

Maintenance intervals
If you use your vehicle in particu-larly diffi cult conditions, it is essen-
tialto use the service schedule for "severe conditions" comprisingshorter intervals between services.See "Maintenance and WarrantyGuide".
Reset to zero
It is reset by your CITROËN dealer
or a qualifi ed workshop after eachservice. However, if you do your
own servicing, the procedure for resetting to zero is as follows:1. Switch off the ignition.2. Press on button A and keep it pressed.3. Switch on the ignition.4. Keep buttonA pressed down until the screen indicates"=0"
and the maintenance symboldisappears.
Note:If the maximum time between two oil changes is reached before the mileage has been covered, the mainte-nance spanner lights up and the instrument panel indicates "0".
MILEAGE RECORDER
Display
When the driver's door is opened or the vehicle is unlocked with
the remote control, for around
30 seconds there is display of the mileage recorders and sometimes
the maintenance spanner.
Trip mileage recorder reset
This can operate when the ignition is switched on.
With a long press on the zero
reset buttonA, the trip mileage dis-
played resets to zero.
FUEL GAUGE
From the time the low fuel warninglamp is on continuously on levelground, accompanied by an audi-
ble signal, there remains around8 litresof fuel in the tank.
When the second-to-last bar disap-pears, you still have approx. 5 l of
fuel.
REV COUNTER
When you approach maximumengine speed, crossing into the redzone indicates the need to engage
a higher gear.

TRIP COMPUTER
This gauge informs you of the temperature of the oil in your engine.
OIL TEMPERATURE (NAVIDRIVE COLOUR DISPLAY)
If the temperature is too high, the gauge indicates the maximum level and the last, red bar fl ashes.
Contact a CITRO
ÀN dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
This
gauge informs you of the temperature of the coolant fl uid in your engine.
If the temperature is excessive, the
gauge indicates a maximum level, the "STOP"warning lamp comes
on in the instrument panel as well as on the Head-Up display.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.p

SPEED-SENSITIVE REAR SPOILER (DEFLECTOR)
The Piloted Defl ector enhancesthe aerodynamics and the brakingof your vehicle.
AUTOMATIC DEPLOYMENT
Two deployment stages are possible:The fi rst deployment stage isfrom around 40 mph (65 km/h).This is maintained as long
as the speed remainsabove approx.16 mph (25 km/h);
below this speed, the Piloted
Defl ector retracts completely.
The second deploymentstage is from around 78 mph(125 km/h). This is maintained
as long as the speed remainsabove approx.65 mph (105 km/h); below this speed,
the Piloted Defl ector returns
to the fi rstdeployment stage.
MAINTENANCE
For any maintenance that may be
necessary on your Piloted Defl ec-
tor (leaves or other components jammed), deploy it in the main-
tenance position: Switch off the
ignition then within one minute
action the wiper stalk. Your Piloted
Defl ector deploys.
Next, to retract it, start then drive at
over 6 mph (10 km/h).Note: The maintenance position makes the wipers stand up verti-cally. See "Wash/wipe".
ACCESSORIESIt is recommended to place
the Piloted Defl ector in themaintenance position before
installing an accessory on the
boot (for example a bicycle-carrier).Installation of accessories on
the vehicle (roof bars, roof box,
bicycle-carrier, etc.) limits theeffectiveness of the Piloted Defl ector.
Note:Depending on engine-type,certain versions are equipped witha fi xed defl ector.
If you wash the vehicle with a high pressure system, make sure that thePiloted Defl ector is closed.
