This ABS has a test mode which
allows the owner to experience
the pulsating at the brake lever or
brake pedal when the ABS is
operating. However, special tools
are required, so please consult
your Yamaha dealer when perfor-
ming this test.

Keep any type of magnets (inclu-
ding magnetic pick-up tools, mag-
netic screwdrivers, etc.) away from
the front and rear wheel hubs,
otherwise the magnetic rotors
equipped in the wheel hubs may be
damaged, resulting in improper
performance of the ABS system.

To open the fuel tank cap
Open the fuel tank cap lock cover,
insert the key into the lock, and then
turn it 1/4 turn clockwise. The lock will
be released and the fuel tank cap can
be opened.
To close the fuel tank cap
1. Push the fuel tank cap into posi-
tion with the key inserted in the
lock.
2. Turn the key counterclockwise to
the original position, remove it,
and then close the lock cover.

3. Turn the key to “ON” and turn on
the electrical circuit in question to
check if the device operates.
4. If the fuse immediately blows
again, have a Yamaha dealer
check the electrical system.

Replacing a headlight bulb
This model is equipped with quartz
bulb headlights. If a headlight bulb
burns out, replace it as follows.

Take care not to damage the follo-
wing parts:
Headlight bulb
Do not touch the glass part of
the headlight bulb to keep it
free from oil, otherwise the
transparency of the glass, the
luminosity of the bulb, and the
bulb life will be adversely affec-
ted. Thoroughly clean off any
dirt and fingerprints on the
headlight bulb using a cloth
moistened with alcohol or thin-
ner.
Headlight lens
Do not affix any type of tinted
film or stickers to the headlight
lens.
Do not use a headlight bulb of a
wattage higher than specified.
