Tachometer
MS15004
Left−hand drive vehicles
MS15005
Right−hand drive vehicles
The tachometer indicates engine speed
in thousands of rpm (revolutions per
minute). Use it while driving to select
correct shift points and to prevent en-
gine lugging and over−revving.
Driving with the engine running too fast
causes excessive engine wear and poor
fuel economy. Remember, in most cases
the slower the engine speed, the greater
the fuel economy.
NOTICE
Do not let the indicator get segment
into the red zone. This may cause
severe engine damage.
Odometer and trip meter
MS15006
This meter displays the odometer and
trip meter.
1. Odometer—Shows the total distance
the vehicle has been driven.
2. Trip meter—Shows the distance driven
since the last time it was set to zero.
Trip meter data remains stored even
when the electrical power source is
disconnected. Therefore, the stored
driving distance is displayed on the
meter when the electrical power source
is reconnected. However, distances
lessthan1km(1mile)areresetto
zero.
3. Trip meter reset knob—Reset the trip
meter to zero, and also change the
meter display.
To change the meter display, quickly
push and release the knob. The meter
display changes in order from the
odometer to trip meter, then back to
the odometer each time you push.
To reset trip meter to zero, display the
meter reading, then push and hold the
knob until the meter is set to zero.
