DBC (Downhill brake con-
trol) indicator (if equipped)
The DBC indicator will illuminate when
the DBC button is pressed and the sys-tem is on.
When driving down a steep hill at a speed under 35 km/h (22 mph), the DBC
will operate and the DBC indicator will
blink to indicate the DBC is operating.
If the red indicator illuminates, the DBC
system may have malfunctioned. Take
your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system checked.
KEY OUT indicator (if equipped)
When the ENGINE START/STOP button
is in the ACC or ON position, if any door
is open, the system checks for the smart
key. If the smart key is not in the vehicle,
the indicator will blink, and if all doors are
closed, the chime will also sound for
about 5 seconds. The indicator will go off
while the vehicle is moving. Keep the
smart key in the vehicle or insert it in the
smart key holder.
Key reminder warning chime (if equipped)
If the driver’s door is opened while the
ignition key is left in the ignition switch
(ACC or LOCK position), the key
reminder warning chime will sound. This
is to prevent you from locking your keys
in the vehicle. The chime sounds until the
key is removed from the ignition switch or
the driver’s door is closed.

Glow indicator (Dieselengine)
The indicator light illuminates when the
ignition switch is placed at the ON posi-
tion. The engine can be started after the
preheat indicator light goes off. The illu-
minating time varies with the water tem-
perature, air temperature and batterycondition.
✽✽ NOTICE
If the engine was not started within 10
seconds after the preheating is complet-
ed, turn the ignition key once more to
the LOCK position during 10 seconds,
and then to the ON position, in order to
preheat again.
Fuel filter warning light (Diesel engine)
This warning light illuminates for 3 sec-
onds after the ignition switch is set to the
ON position and then it will go out. If it
lights up while the engine is running, it
indicates that water has accumulated
inside the fuel filter. If this happens,
remove the water from the fuel filter. For
more Information, refer to “Fuel filter” insection 7.
4WD system warning light(if equipped)
When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the 4WD indicator will illumi-
nate and then go off in a few seconds.
If the 4WD system warning light
illuminates, this indicates that there is a
malfunction in the 4WD system. If this
occurs, have your vehicle checked by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as
possible.
4WD LOCK indicator (if equipped)
The 4WD LOCK indicator light is illumi-
nated when the 4WD LOCK button is
pushed. The purpose of this 4WD LOCK
mode is to increase the drive power
when driving on dry road surfaces, wet
pavement, snow-covered roads and/or
off-road. The 4WD LOCK indicator light is
turned off by pushing the button again.
CAUTION
When the fuel filter warning light is
illuminated, engine power (vehicle speed & idle speed) may decrease.If you keep driving with the warninglight on, you can damage your vehi-
cle's engine parts and injection sys-tem of the Common Rail. If thisoccurs, have your vehicle checkedby an authorized HYUNDAI dealer
as soon as possible.
CAUTION
If the preheat indicator light contin- ues to illuminate or flash on and off
after the engine has warmed up orwhile driving, check the system byan authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.

Engine coolant tempera-
ture warning light(if equipped)
The warning light illuminates if the tem-
perature of the engine coolant is above120±3°C (248±5.4°F).
Do not continue driving with an overheat-
ed engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer
to “Overheating” in section 6.
✽✽ NOTICE
If the engine coolant temperature warn-
ing light illuminates, it indicates over-
heating that may damage the engine.
Electronic power steering (EPS) system warning light (if equipped)
This indicator light comes on after the
ignition key is turned to the ON positionand then it will go out. This light also comes on when the EPS
has some troubles. If it comes on while
driving, have your vehicle inspected by
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
EPSCAUTION
Do not use 4WD LOCK mode on drypaved roads or highway, it can
cause noise, vibration or damage of4WD related parts.

to indicate that you should depress the
brake pedal to start the engine. Press cluch pedal to start engine

on the LCD display for about 10 seconds
to indicate that you should depress the
clutch pedal to start the engine. Shift to "P" position
If you try to turn offthe engine without
the shift lever in
the P (Park) posi-tion, the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton will turn to the
ACC position. If the button is pressed
once more it will turn to the ON position.
The warning illuminates on the LCD dis-
play for about 10 seconds to indicate that
you should press the ENGINE START/
STOP button with the shift lever in the P
(Park) position to turn off the engine.
Also, the warning chime sounds for about

Remove key When you turn off the engine with the
smart key in the
smart key holder,
the warning illumi-nates on the LCD
display for about
10 seconds. Also, the smart key holder
light blinks for about 10 seconds.
To remove the smart key push the smart
key once and pull it out from the smart
key holder. Insert key
If you press the
ENGINE START/
STOP button while
"Key is not detect-ed" illuminates on
the LCD display,
the warning “Insert
key” illuminates for about 10 seconds.
Also, the immobilizer indicator and the
key holder light blinks for about 10 sec-
onds. Press start button again
If you can not
operate the
ENGINE START/
STOP button when
there is a problemwith the ENGINE
START/STOP but-
ton system, the warning illuminates for10 seconds and the chime sounds con-
tinuously to indicate that you could start
the engine by pressing the ENGINE
START/STOP button once more. The chime will stop if the ENGINE
START/STOP button system works nor-
mally or the theft alarm system is armed.
If the warning illuminates each time you
press the ENGINE START/STOP button,
take your vehicle to an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer and have the system
checked.

Shift to "P" or "N" to start the engine
If you try to start the engine with the
shift lever not in
the P(Park) or
N(Neutral) posi-
tion, the warning
illuminates for
about 10 seconds on the LCD display.
You can also start the engine with the
shift lever in the N(Neutral) position, but
for your safety start the engine with the
shift lever in the P(Park) position. Press start button while turn steering
If the steeringwheel does not
unlock normallywhen the ENGINE
START/STOP but-ton is pressed, the
warning illumi-
nates for 10 seconds on the LCD display.
Also, the warning chime sounds once
and the ENGINE START/STOP button

The sensing distance while the rear
parking assist system is in operation is
approximately 120 cm (47 in.).
When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest
one will be recognized first.
Types of warning sound
When an object is 120 cm to 81 cm (47in. to 32 in.) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps intermittently.
When an object is 80 cm to 41 cm (31 in. to 16 in.) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps more frequently.
When an object is within 40 cm (15 in.) of the rear bumper:
Buzzer sounds continuously.

sensors or close, indicator could be
different. Non-operational conditions of rear parking assist system The rear parking assist system may not operate properly when:
1. Moisture is frozen to the sensor. (It will
operate normally when the moisture has been cleared.)
2. The sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as snow or water, or the
sensor cover is blocked. (It will operate
normally when the material is removed
or the sensor is no longer blocked.)
3. Driving on uneven road surfaces (unpaved roads, gravel, bumps, gradi-ent).
4. Objects generating excessive noise (vehicle horns, loud motorcycle
engines, or truck air brakes) are within
range of the sensor.
5. Heavy rain or water spray exists.
6. Wireless transmitters or mobile phones are within range of the sensor.
7. The sensor is covered with snow.
