o Do not attempt to inspect or re-
place the pre-tensioner seat belts yourself. This must be done by an authorised Hyundai dealer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or repair
the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner.
o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, andfailure to heed the warnings not to strike, modify, inspect, replace, service or repair the pre-tensionerseat belt assemblies may lead to improper operation or inadvertent activation and serious injury.
o Always wear seat belts when driv- ing or riding in a motor vehicle.
o If the vehicle or pre-tensioner seat belt must be discarded, contact an authorised Hyundai dealer.
!
CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on the instrument panel will illuminatefor approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the "ON" position, and then itshould turn off.
o If pre-tensioner seat belt is not
working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRS airbag. WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to op- erate once only. After activation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, of any type, should always be replacedafter they have been worn during a collision.

o Although it is harmless, the finedust may cause skin irritation and should not be inhaled for pro- longed periods. Wash your hands and face thoroughly after an acci-dent in which the pre-tensioner seat belts were activated. If the SRS airbag warning lightdoes not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if itblinks for a second and remains illuminated after illuminating for approximately 6 seconds, or if itilluminates while the vehicle is being driven, please have an authorised Hyundai dealer inspectthe pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon as pos- sible.

o Front airbags are not intended todeploy in side-impact, rear-impact or rollover crashes. In addition, airbags will not deploy in frontal crashes below the deploymentthreshold speed.
o The SRS is designed to deploy the
airbags only when the impact issufficiently severe and when the impact is in the front or frontal angle of the vehicle, and will notdeploy in side, rear or rollover impacts. Additionally, the airbags will only deploy once. Thus, seatbelts must be worn at all times.
WARNING:
o As its name implies, the SRS is designed to work with, and be supplemental to, the driver's and the passenger's three point seatbelt systems and is not a substi- tute for them. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all timeswhile the vehicle is in motion. In addition, the airbags deploy only in certain frontal impact condi-tions severe enough to likely cause significant injury to the vehicle occupants.
Your Hyundai is equipped with a Supple-mental Restraint (Airbag) System and lap/shoulder belts at both the driver and passenger seating positions. The indi-cations of the system's presence are the letters "SRS AIR BAG" embossed on the airbag pad cover in the steeringwheel and the front passenger's panel pad above the glove box. The Hyundai SRS consists of airbags installed under the pad covers in the centre of the steering wheel and thefront passenger's panel above the glove box.
B240A02NF-DAT Driver's and Passenger's Front Airbag
Driver's Front Airbag The purpose of the SRS is to provide the vehicle's driver or the front passen-ger with additional protection than that offered by the seat belt alone, in case of a frontal impact of sufficient severity. NOTE: Be sure to read information about the SRS on the labels provided on the topside of the sun visor.

the ignition key is in the "ON" position. If the SRS is not working properly,(1) The SRS SRI does not come on when the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position or after the engine is started.
(2) The SRS SRI blinks for a sec- ond and remains on after illu-minating for about 6 secondswhen the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started.
(3) The SRS SRI illuminates while driving.
If this occurs, have your vehicleimmediately inspected by your Hyundai dealer.
o Before you replace a fuse or dis- connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignitionkey. Never remove or replace the air bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi-tion. Failure to heed this warning will cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate. B990B01MC-AAT Side Impact Airbag (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with a side impact airbag in each front seat. The purpose of the airbag is to provide thevehicle's driver and/or the front pas- senger with additional protection than that offered by the seatbelt alone. Theside impact airbags are designed to deploy only during certain side impact collisions, depending on the crash se-verity, angle, speed and point of im- pact. The side impact airbags are not designed to deploy in all side impactsituations.

When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in afew seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the"ON" position, this indicates that there may be a problem with the ABS. WARNING:
If both ABS SRI and Hand Brake/Brake fluid level warning lights re- main "ON" or come on while driv-ing, there may be a problem with E.B.D (Electronic Brake Force Dis- tribution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon aspossible.B260B01JM-DAT SRS (Airbag) Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)
