This indicator has two f unctions:Itcomesonwhenyouturnthe
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position. It is a reminder to check
the parking brake. A beeper
sounds if you drive with the
parking brake not f ully released.
Driving with the parking brake not
fully released can damage the
brakes and tires. This indicator comes on brief ly when
you turn the ignition switch to the
ON (II) position. If it comes on at
any other time, it indicates that the
passenger’s side airbag has
automatically shut off. For more
inf ormation, see page .
This indicator comes on brief ly when
you turn the ignition switch to the
ON (II) position. If it comes on at
any other time, it indicates a
potential problem with your f ront
airbags. This indicator will also alert
you to a potential problem with your
airbag system components. For
more information, see page .
If it remains on af ter you have
fully released the parking brake
while the engine is running, or if it
comes on while driving, there
could be a problem with the brake

high beam headlights. For more
inf ormation, see page .
This indicator also comes on with
reduced brightness when the
daytime running lights (DRL) are on
(see page ).
If this indicator comes on when you
turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position and release the parking
brake, it means there is a problem
with the DRL. There may also be a
problem with the high beam
headlights. Have your vehicle
checked by your dealer.
This indicator comes on as a
reminder that you must ref uel soon.
When the indicator comes on, there
are about 2.8 U.S. gal (10.5
)on
2WD models and 2.5 U.S. gal (9.6
)
on 4WD models of f uel remaining in
the tank.

This f eature turns of f the headlights,
all other exterior lights, and the
instrument panel lights within 15
seconds after you remove the key
and close the driver’s door.
The automatic lighting of f f eature
activates if you leave the headlight
switch in the ‘‘ ’’ or ‘‘ ’’
position or if the lights are turned on
by setting the switch in the ‘‘AUTO’’
position (if equipped), and you
remove the key, then open and close
the driver’s door.The headlights revert to normal
operation when you turn them on
with the switch. With the headlight switch of f or in
the position, the high beam
headlights and the high beam
indicator come on with reduced
brightness when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position and release the parking
brake. They remain on until you turn
the ignition switch of f , even if you
set the parking brake.
If you remove the key f rom the
ignition switch with the headlight
switch on, but do not open the door,
the lights will turn of f af ter 10
minutes.
If you turn the ignition switch to the
LOCK (0) position with the lights
turned on by setting the switch in
the ‘‘AUTO’’ position, but do not
open the door, the lights turn of f
af ter 3 minutes.
The lights will turn on again when
you unlock or open the driver’s door.
If you unlock the door, but do not
open it within 15 seconds, the lights
will go off. With the driver’s door
open, you will hear a lights-on
reminder chime.

The auto door locking f eature has
three possible settings:The auto door locking is
deactivated all the time.
When you customize the setting,
make sure your vehicle is parked
saf ely, the engine is of f , and the
parking brake is applied. Make all
settings bef ore you start driving.
With any door and the tailgate open
and the key in the ignition, locking
with the master door lock switch is
disabled. The lock tab on the driver’s
door is not disabled if the driver’s
door is closed. Pulling the driver’s
lock tab rearward will lock all doors
and the tailgate. If you try to lock an
open driver’s door by pulling the lock
tab rearward, the lock tab on the
driver’s door pops out and unlocks
the driver’s door.
Your vehicle has customizable
settings f or the doors and tailgate to
automatically lock and unlock. There
are default settings for each of these
f eatures. You can turn of f or change
the settings for these features as
described on the f ollowing pages. The doors and tailgate lock
whenever you move the shif t lever
out of the Park (P) position.
The doors and tailgate lock when
the vehicle speed reaches 10 mph
(15 km/h).This is the default
setting.

To select a memorized position, do
this:Make sure the parking brake is set
and the shif t lever is in Park.
Press the desired memory button
(1 or 2) until you hear a beep, then
release the button.
To cancel the storing procedure
after pressing the SET button, press
the SET button again within 5
seconds.
Each memory button stores only one
driving position. Storing a new
position erases the previous setting
stored in that button’s memory. If
you want to add a new position while
retaining the current one, use the
other memory button.
All stored driving positions will be
lost if your vehicle’s battery goes
dead or is disconnected.

lever up f ully. To release it, pull up
slightly, push the button, and lower
the lever. The parking brake

should go out when the parking
