STEERING LOCK
Engagement: with ignition at
STOP, or PARK, remove the key
and turn the steering wheel until it
locks.IGNITION
The key can be turned to 4 different
positions fig. 5:
– STOP: engine off, key can be
removed, steering column locked.
Some electrical devices (e.g. car
radio, central door locking system,
electronic alarm, etc.) can
operate.
– MAR-ON: driving position. All
electric devices can operate.
– AVV: engine starting.
– PARK: engine off, parking lights
on, key can be removed, steering
column locked.
To turn the key to PARK, press
button A.

If the ignition is
tampered with
(e.g. attempted theft),
have it checked by a Fiat
Dealership before driving
again.
WARNING
Never remove the key
while the vehicle is in
motion. The steering wheel
would automatically lock as
soon as it is turned. This also
applies to cases in which the
vehicle is towed.

DOORS
Before opening a door,
ensure that you can do
so in safe conditions.
WARNING
FROM OUTSIDE
Opening: turn the key to position 1-
fig. 75 and pull the opening handle.
Closing: turn the key to position 2.

FROM INSIDE

Closing: close the door and press
the lever.
CENTRAL LOCKING
From outside
With the doors closed, insert and
turn the key in a door lock.From inside
With doors closed, press (to lock)
or pull (to unlock) one of the door
opening levers.
The remote control can also be used
to activate central locking.
IMPORTANT If one of the doors is
not fully closed or there is a system
failure, central locking will not
operate and, after several attempts,
the system will be excluded for
about 30 seconds.
The doors can be locked or
unlocked during this period, without
the intervention of the electronic
system. After the 30 seconds have
elapsed, the control unit is ready to
receive commands again.
If the cause of operational failure has
been removed, the device will
resume normal operation.
Otherwise, the exclusion cycle will
be repeated.

from its locking device at the
same time.
3) Insert the end of the stay in
bonnet housing B.
Warning. The bonnet
may drop suddenly if
the bonnet stay is not
positioned correctly.

Be careful when
working inside the
engine compartment with the
engine hot to avoid burning
yourself. Do not place your
hands near the fan, as it may
be activated even when the key
is not in the ignition. Wait for
the engine to cool.

scarves, ties and other
loose-fitting garments. If they
accidentally come into contact
with moving parts, they may
get caught up and dragged
with serious risks for those
wearing them.
