Emergency procedure
Emergency unlocking/locking

using the integral key
The integral key is used to lock and unlockthe vehicle when the electronic key cannot
operate:
- cell battery flat, vehicle battery discharged
or disconnected, ...
- vehicle located in an area with stron
gelectromagnetic signals.)Maintain a pull on button 1 , to extract
the integral key 2.
Complete unlocking
) Tu r n t h e k ey towards the front of the vehicle
to unlock the vehicle.



Normal locking
)Turn the key towards the rear of the vehicle
to lock the vehicle completely.

Deadlocking
)Turn the key towards the rear in the driver's door lock to lock the vehicle completely.)Turn the key towards the rear again withinfive seconds to deadlock the vehicle.

Lost electronic key
Visit a CITROËN dealer with the vehicle's registration document and your personal identification documents and if possible the key code label.
The CITROËN dealer will be able to retrieve the key code and the transponder code required to order a new key.
Electronic key
The electronic key is a sensitive system; do not operate it while it is in your pocket as there is a possibility that it may unlock the vehicle, without you being aware of it.Do not repeatedly press the buttons of your electronic key out of range and out of sight of your vehicle. You run the risk of stopping it from working and the remote control would have to be reinitialised.The electronic key cannot operate as a remote control when it is in the reader or even when the ignition is switched on.
Locking the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make access to the passenger compar tment by the emergency ser vices more difficult in an emergency.
As a safety precaution (with children on board), take the Keyless Entry and Star ting electronic key when you leave the vehicle, even for a shor ttime.
Electrical interference
The Keyless Entry and Star ting electronic key may not operate if close to certain electronic devices: telephone, laptop computer, strongmagnetic fields, ...
Anti-theft protection
Do not make any modifications to the electronic engine immobiliser system; this could cause malfunctions. Don't forget to turn the steering to engage the steering lock.
When purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Have all of the keys in your possession paired by a CITROËN dealer, to ensure that only your keys allow your vehicle to be unlocked and star ted.

Central locking control
Automatic central locking of
the doors
(anti-intrusion security)
The doors and boot can lock automatically while driving (speed above 6 mph (10 km/h)).
To activate or deactivate this function (activated
by default:
If the vehicle is deadlocked or locked from the outside, the button is not active. In this case, use the remote control to unlock the vehicle or pull an interior door handle to open a door.
If one of the doors is open, central locking from the inside does not take place.
Driving with the doors locked may make access to the passenger compar tment by the emergency ser vices more difficult in an emergency.
)Operate the button.
This allows the doors and the boot to be locked or unlocked.

Operate this button until amessage appears in the
instrument panel screen.

Transporting long or voluminousobjectsIf you want to drive with the boot open,press the central locking control button to lock the doors.

Emergency control

System allowing the doors to be locked and
unlocked manually in the event of a malfunctionof the central locking system or battery failure.

Inser t the key in the door lock, then turn it
to the rear.
You can also apply the procedure described for
the passenger doors.

)Open the doors. )On the rear doors, check that the child lockis not on (see Child Safety). )Remove the black cap, located on the edge
of the door, using the key.)Insert the key in the socket without forcing
it, then without turning it, move the latch

System which protects and provides a deterrent
against theft and break-ins. It provides the
following types of monitoring:





Alarm


- Exterior perimeter

The system checks for opening of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to open adoor, the boot or the bonnet...




- Interior volumetric

The system checks for any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks a
window, enters the passenger compar tment or moves inside the vehicle.
- Tilt
The system checks for any change in
the attitude of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if the vehicle is lifted,
moved or knocked.


Self-protection function
The system checks for the putting out of ser vice of its components. The alarm is triggered if the battery, thebutton or the wires of the siren are putout of ser vice or damaged.
For all work on the alarm system, contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
Locking the vehicle with full
alarm system
Activation
)Switch off the ignition and get out of the vehicle.

Press the locking button on the
r
emote control or lock the vehicleusing the Keyless Entry and Starting system. The monitoring system is active: the indicator
lam
p in the button flashes once per second.
After the locking button on the remote control
is pressed or the vehicle locked using the
Keyless Entry and Star ting system, the exterior
perimeter monitoring is activated after a delay of 5 seconds, the interior volumetric monitoring after 45 seconds and the anti-tilt after one minute and 30 seconds.
If an opening (door, boot...) is not closed fully, the vehicle is not locked but the exterior
perimeter monitoring will be activated after a
delay of 45 seconds.
) Press the unlocking button on
the remote control or unlock the
vehicle using the Keyless Entryand Star ting system.

Deactivation of the volumetric monitoring
The volumetric protection system is deactivated: the indicator lamp in the button goes off.

Locking the vehicle

Deactivate the interior volumetric and anti-liftmonitoring to avoid unwanted triggering of thealarm in certain cases such as:
- leaving a window par tially open,
- washing your vehicle,
- changing a wheel,
- having your vehicle towed,
- transportation by sea.

Switch of the ignition and within
ten seconds, press this button
until the indicator lamp is on
continuously.) Get out of the vehicle.

Press the locking button on
the remote control immediatelyor lock the vehicle using the Keyless Entry and Starting system.
The exterior perimeter monitorin
g alone is activated: the indicator lamp in the buttonflashes once per second.
To b e effective, this deactivation must be carried
out each time the ignition is switched off.


Reactivation of the interior volumetric and anti-tilt monitoring


Tr iggering of the alarm


This is indicated by sounding of the siren andflashing of the direction indicators for thirty seconds.
The monitoring functions remain active until
the alarm has been triggered eleven times in succession.
)Press the unlocking button on
the remote control or unlock thevehicle using the Keyless Entry and Starting system to deactivate
the exterior perimeter monitoring.
) Press the locking button on theremote control or lock the vehicle
using the Keyless Entry and Starting system to activate all the monitoring functions.
The indicator lamp in the button
again flashes once per second.

When the vehicle is unlocked usin
gthe remote control or unlockedusing the Keyless Entry and Starting
system, rapid flashing of the indicator lamp in the button informs you that the alarm
was triggered during your absence. When
the i
gnition is switched on, this flashing stops
immediately.



Failure of the remote control

To deactivate the monitoring functions:
)Unlock the vehicle using the key (integral with
the remote control) in the driver's door lock. )Open the door; the alarm is triggered.)Switch on the ignition; the alarm stops.
The indicator lamp in the button goes off.




Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
)Lock or deadlock the vehicle using the key(integral with the remote control) in the driver's door lock.




Operating fault


When the ignition is switched on, fixed
illumination of the indicator lamp in the button
indicates a fault in the s
ystem. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a y
qualified workshop.

Automatic activation *



2 minutes after the last door or the boot isclosed, the system is activated automatically. )To avoid triggering the alarm on entering
the vehicle, first press the unlocking buttonon the remote control or unlock the vehicleusing the Keyless Entry and Star ting system.

Manual operation
To open or close the window, press or pull theswitch gently. The window stops as soon as the switch is released.
Automatic o
peration
To open or close the window, press or pull
switch fully: the window opens or closes completely when the switch is released.
Pressing the switch again stops the movement of the window.
The electric window switches remain operational for approximately 45 seconds after switching off the ignition.
Once this time has elapsed, the electric
windows will not operate. To reactivate them,
switch the ignition on again. 4

Safety anti-pinch
When the window rises and meets an obstacle, it stops and immediately partially lowers again.
In the event o
f unwanted opening of the
window on closing, press the switch until the
window opens completely, then pull the switch
immediatel
y until the window closes. Continue
to hold the switch for approximately one second after the window has closed.
The safety anti-pinch function is not active
during this operation.
Deactivating the rear window controls


Reinitialisation of
the electric windows

In the event of contact during operationof the windows, you must reverse the movement of the window. To do this,press the switch concerned.
When operating the passenger electricwindow switches, the driver mustensure that no one is preventing correct closing of the windows. The driver must ensure that the passengers use the electric windowscorrectly.
Be aware of children when operating the windows.
Be aware of passengers or other persons present when closing the
windows using the the electronic key or the "Access and Starting Hands Free"system. Followin
g reconnection of the battery, the
safety anti-pinch function must be reinitialised.The safety anti-pinch function is not active
during these operations:


- lower the window completely, then raise
it, it will rise in ste
ps of a few centimetreseach time the switch is pressed. Repeat
the operation until the window closes
completely,

- continue to press the switch for at least
one second after reaching this position,
window closed.
For the safety of your children, press switch 5to prevent operation of therear windows irrespective of their position.
The warnin
g lamp in the button comes on,accompanied by a message confirmingactivation. It remains on, as long as the child
lock is activated.
The interior controls for the rear doors are also deactivated. Opening the doors from the outside and
operation of the rear electric windows from the
driver's controls remain possible.
