flashing. The electric parking brake is not
app
lied automatically.
The application/release is faulty. You must stop as soon as it is sa
fe to do so.
Park on
flat level ground, switch off the ignition and contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Electric parking brake fault
fixed. Alone, the electric parking brake has a fault. Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop
without delay.
The parking brake can be released manually.
For more information on the electric parking brake,
refer to the "Driving" section.
Braking
fixed. The braking system fluid level has
dropped significantly. You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Top up with brake fluid listed by CITROËN.
If the problem persists, have the system checked by aCITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

fixed, associated
with the ABS warnin
glamp. Th
e electronic brake force distribution(EBFD) system has a fault. You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop.
Deactivation of the automatic functions of the electric parkingbrake
fixed. The "automatic application" (on switching off the engine) and
"automatic release" functions aredeactivated or faulty.
Activate the function (according to country) via the
vehicle configuration menu or contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop if automatic application/release is not possible.
The parking brake can be released manually using the
emergency release procedure.
For more information on the electric parking brake,
refer to the "Driving" section.

Checks
Coolant level
The coolant level should be close
to the "MA X" mark but should never exceed it. When the engine is warm,
the temperature of the coolant is regulated bythe fan. This can operate with the ignition off.
On vehicles which are fitted with a par ticle
emission filter, the fan ma
y operate after
the vehicle has been switched off, even if
the en
gine is cold.
Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.
Coolant specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
Power steering fluid level
The power steering fluid level should
be close to the "MA X" mark. Unscrew
the cap, with the en
gine cold,
to check the level. Th
e brake fluid level should be closeto the "MA X" mark. If it is not, check
the brake pad wear.
Brake fluid level
Changing the fl uid
Refer to the ser vicing booklet for the inter val for
this operation.
Fluid specifi cation
The brake fluid must conform to themanufacturer's recommendations and meet
the DOT4 standard.
In addition, as the cooling system ispressurised, wait at least one hour after
switching off the engine before carrying out any work. To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrewthe cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and topup the level.

6-speed electronic
gearbox
The gearbox does not require anymaintenance (no oil change).
Refer to the ser vicing booklet for
details of the checking interval for
this component.
Brake wear depends on the st
yle
of driving, par ticularly in the case
of vehicles used in town, over shor tdistances. It may be necessary
to have the condition of the brakes checked, even between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in
th
e brake fluid level indicates that the brakepads are worn.
Brake pads
For information on checking brake
disc wear, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Brake disc wear
Electric parking brake
This system does not require anyroutine servicing. However, in the
event of a problem, have the systemchecked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
For more information, see "Driving - Electric parking brake - § Operating faults".
Only use products recommended by CITROËN or products of equivalent quality and specification. In order to optimise the operationof units as impor tant as the braking
system, CITROËN selects and offers very specific products.
To avoid damaging the electrical units, the use of a high pressure washer in the engine compar tment is strictly prohibited.
