X Use the 4mmhex-socket wrench to turn
the bolts on both sides anti-clockwise by
about 90° and loosen them.
X Pul lthe bolts out of the brackets on the
head restra ints. X
Pul lthe AIRCAP draught stop out of the
guide rails in the direction of the arrow.
Make sure that you pull the AIRCAP draught
stop forwards slightly when doing so. Fitting X
Keeping the AIRCAP draught stop horizon-
tal, guide it into the slot between the head
restrain tsin the direction of the arrow with
both rack sstraight down.
X Push the AIRCAP draugh tstop down until
the bolts are at the same height as the
brackets on the head restraints.
X Insert the bolts into the brackets on both
sides.
X Tighten the bolts with the 4mmhex-socket
wren chuntil they engage.
The markings on the bolts are vertical. 86

i Resonance noise scan occur in addition
to the usua lairflow noises when the sliding
sunroof is open. They are caused by minor
pressure fluctuations in the vehicle interior.
Change the position of the sliding sunroof
or open aside window slightly to reduce or

The panorama sliding sunroof remains raised
at the rear in order to allow ventilation of the
vehicle interior.
i If the panorama sliding sunroof is obstruc-
ted when being closed by the rain closing
feature, it opens again slightly. The rain
closing feature is then deactivated.
The panorama sliding sunroof does not close
if:
R it is raised at the rear.
R it is blocked.
R no rain is falling on the area of the wind-
screen being monitored by the rain sensor
(e.g. because the vehicle is under abridge

The system automatically switches off
approximately 20 minutes after it is set to
level 1.
X Make sure that the key is in position 1or
2 in the ignition lock.
X To switc hon:press button :repeatedly
until the desired heatin glevel is set.
X To switc hoff:press button :repeatedly
until all th eindicato rlamps go out.
Problems with the seat heating The seat heating has switched itself off pre-
maturely or cannot be switched on. The vehi-
cle's electrical system voltage is too low
because too many electrical consumers are
switched on.
X Switc hoff electrical consumers which you
do not need, such as th erear window heat-
ing or interior lighting. Switching the seat ventilation on/off
Switching on/off The three blue indicator lamps in the buttons
indicate the ven tilation level you have selec-
ted.
i If the battery voltage is too low, the seat
ventilation may switch off. X
Make sure that the key is in position 1or
2 in the ignition lock.
X To switch on: press button:repeatedly
until the desired ventilation level is set. i
Coupé: you can open the side windows
and the panoram asliding sunroof with the
key (Y page 75). The seat ventilation of the
driver's seat automatically switches to the
highes tlevel.
Cabriolet: you can open the soft top and the
rear side windows with the key
(Y page 78). The seat ven tilation of the
driver's seat automatically switches to the
highes tlevel.

Very hot air can flow out of the AIRSCARF
ven tsin the head restraints when AIRSCARF
is in operation. This can cause burns on unpro-
tected skin near the AIRSCARF vents. Lower
the heating output in good time, when neces-
sary.
The AIRSCARF func tion warms the head and
nec karea of vehicl eoccupants with warm air.
Th ew arm air flows out of the hole sinthe head
rest raints.
The three red indicator lamps in the button
indicate the heating level you have selected. 98

restraint to adjust the height of the current of
air blown out according to your height.
Make sure that there are no objects covering
the intake grille on the back of the driver's
seat backrest.
i The blower continues running for seven
seconds to cool down the heating ele-
ments.
i If the battery voltage is too low, AIRSCARF

Risk of injury
The electrically adjustable steering wheel can
still be adjusted when there is no key in the
ignition lock. Therefore, do not leave children
unsupervised in the vehicle, as they could
become trapped if the steering wheel is adjus-
ted. G
Risk of accident
Only adjust the steering wheel when the vehi-
cle is stationary and do not pull away until the
steering wheel adjustment mechanism is
locked in position. You might otherwise drive
without the steering wheel adjustment mech-
anism being locked in position. As aresult,
you could be distracted from road and traffic
condition sbyanunintentional movement of
the steering wheel and thereby cause an acci-
dent.

Adjusting the exterior mirrors G
Risk of accident
The exterior mirrors reduce the size of the
image .Object sare actu ally closer than they
appear. You could misjudge the distance from
vehicles driving behind and cause an acci-
dent, e.g. when changing lane. For this rea-
son, make sure of the actual distance from the
vehicle driving behind by glancing over your
shoulder.
The convex exterior mirrors provide alarger
field of vision.
The exterior mirrors are automatically heated
if the rear window heating is switched on and
the outside temperature is low. X
Make sure that the key is in position 1or
2 in the ignition lock.
X Press button :for the left-hand exterior
mirror or button ;for the right-hand exte-
rior mirror.
The indicator lamp in the corresponding
button lights up in red.
The indicator lamp goes out again after
some time. You can adjust the selected
mirror using adjustmen tbutton =as long
as the indicator lamp is lit.
X Press adjustment button =up, down, to
the right or to the left until the exterior mir-
ror is se ttoaposition which provides you
with agood overview of traffic conditions.

Make sur ethat the exterior mirrors are
always folded out fully while the vehicle is
in motion as they ma yotherwis evibrate.
Resetting the exterior mirrors If the battery has been disconnected or com-
pletely discharged, the exterior mirrors must
be reset. The exterior mirrors will otherwise
not fold in when you select the "Fold in mir-
rors when locking" func tion in the on-board
computer (Y page 209).
X Make sure that the key is in position 1in
the ignition lock.

Folding the exterior mirrors in or out
automatically If the "Fold in mirrors when locking" function
is activated in the on-board computer
(Y page 209):
R the exterior mirrors fold in automatically as
soo nasyou lock the vehicle from the out-
side.
R the exterior mirror sfold out again automat-
ically as soon as you unloc kthe vehicle and
then open the driver's or front-passenger
door.
i The mirrors do not fol dout if they have
been folded in manually.
Exterior mirror out of position If an exterior mirror has been pushed out of
position, proceed as follows:
X Vehicles without electrically folding
exterior mirrors: move the exterior mirror
into the correct position manually.
X Vehicles with electrically folding exte-
rior mirrors: press the mirror-folding but-
ton (Y page 101 )repeatedly until you hear
the mirror engage in position.
The mirror housing is engaged again and
you can adjust the exterior mirror sasusual
(Y page 101). Automatic anti-dazzle mir

Risk of accident
If the incident ligh tfrom headl ampscannot
strike the senso rinthe rear-vie wmirror ,for
instance, when the rea rwindow roller sun-
blind is extended, the mirror' sautomatic anti-
dazzle function will not operate.
Incident light could then blind you. This may
distract you from the traffic conditions and,
as aresult, you may cause an accident. In this
case, adjust the rear-view mirror manually.
The rear-view mirror and the exterior mirror
on the driver' sside automatically go into anti-
dazzle mode if the ignition is switched on and
incident light from headlamps strikes the sen-
sor in the rear-view mirror.
The mirrors do not go into anti-daz zlem ode if
reverse gear is engaged or the interior lighting
