GENERAL WARNINGS
Warning lights are associated to a spe-
cific message and/or buzzer when ap-
plicable. Indications are brief and pre-
cautionaryand as such must non be
considered as exhaustive and/or alter-
native to the information contained in
the Owner’s Handbook, which you are
recommended to read carefully in all
cases. Refer to the information in this
chapterin the event of a failure in-
dication.
IMPORTANT Failure indications on
the display fall into either of two cat-
egories:seriousfaults and less seri-
ousfaults.
A warning cycle will be repeated in
case of severefailures until the case
of the problem is eliminated.
A shorter warning cycle will be run in
case of less severefaults.
PressMODEto stop the warning cy-
cle in both cases. The warning light
on the instrument panel will stay on
until the cause of the fault is elimi-
nated.LOW BRAKE FLUID
(red)
HANDBRAKE ON (red)
When the ignition key is moved to
MAR, the warning light turns on and
should go off after a few seconds.
Low brake fluid level
The warning light comes on when the
level of the brake fluid in the reservoir
falls below the minimum level due to
possible leaks in the circuit.
The display will show the dedicated
message.
x
Handbrake on
The warning light turns on when the
handbrake is on.
On certain versions, if the car is mov-
ing the buzzer will also sound.
IMPORTANT If the warning light
turns on when travelling, check that
the handbrake is not engaged.
AIRBAG FAILURE (red)
When the ignition key is
moved to MAR, the warn-
ing light turns on and should
go off after a few seconds.
The warning light stays on steady if
there is a failure in the airbag system.
The display will show the dedicated
message.
¬
If the warning light x
turns on when travelling
(with the message on the display)
stop the car immediately and con-
tact Lancia Dealership.

GENERIC INDICATION
(amber)
The warning light turns on
in the following circum-
stances.
Exterior lights failure
The warning light will come on (some
versions only) when a fault to one of
the following lights is detected:
– side/taillights
– brake lights (excluding third brake
light)
– rear fog lights
– direction indicators
– number plate lights.
The fault may be caused by: one or
more burnt lamps, a blow protection
fuse or interruption of the electrical
connection.
The display will show the dedicated
message.
Obstructed particulate trap
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The warning light turns on when the
diesel particulate trap is clogged and
the driving conditions do not enable
to activate automatically the regener-
ation procedure.
è
To allow the regeneration procedure,
keep the car running until the warn-
ing light turns off.
The display will show a dedicated
message.
Engine oil pressure sensor
failure
The warning light turns on when fail-
ure is detected in parking sensors. Go
to a Lancia Dealership as soon as pos-
sible.
Rain/dusk sensor failure
The warning light comes on when a
dusk/rain sensor failure is detected.
Go to a Lancia Dealership as soon as
possible.
The display will show a dedicated
message.
Fuel cut-off switch tripped
The warning light comes on when the
fuel cut-off switch trips.
The display will show a dedicated
message. LANCIA CODE
PROTECTION SYSTEM
FAILURE (amber)
Turning the key to MAR, the
warning light flashes once and then
goes off.
If with the ignition key at MAR, the
warning light stays on, this indicates
a possible failure (see “Lancia Code
system” in section “Dashboard and
controls”).
IMPORTANT The turning on at the
same time of the Uand
Ywarning
lights indicates a failure of the Lancia
CODE system.
If with the engine running the warn-
ing light
Yflashes, this means that
the car is not protected by the engine
immobilizer device (see “Lancia Code
system” in section “Dashboard and
controls”).
Contact Lancia Dealership to have all
the key stored.

CLEANING DPF
(PARTICULATE
FILTER) IN PROGRESS
(only Multijet versions
with DPF - amber)
When the ignition key is turned to
MAR (ON), the warning light switches
on but it must switch off after a few
seconds. The warning light comes on
constantly to notify the driver that the
DPF system needs to eliminate cap-
tured pollutants (particulate) by the
regeneration process. The warning
light does not come on during every

FOLLOW ME HOME (green)
Side/tail lights and low beams
The warning light comes on when
side/tail lights or low beams are
turned on.
Follow me home
The warning light will turn when this
device is active (see “Follow me
home” in section “Dashboard and
controls”).
The display will show the dedicated
message.

FOG LIGHTS (green)
The warning light comes on
when the fog lights are on.
5
Speed limit exceeded
The display will show the dedicated
message when the car exceeds the set
speed limit (see “Multifunctional Dis-
play” in section “Dashboard and con-
trols”).DPF regeneration, but only when dri-
ving conditions require notification of
the driver. To switch the warning
light off, the car must stay in motion
until regeneration has been com-
pleted. The process normally takes
about 15 minutes. The optimum con-
ditions to end the process are achieved
by keeping the car in motion up to
60km/h with an engine speed higher
than 2,000 rpm. This light coming on
is not a car defect and therefore the
car does not need to go to the work-
shop. A specific message will appear
on the display when the warning light
comes on (for versions/markets, where
provided).
WARNING
Always drive at a speed
appropriate to the traffic
conditions, the weather and speed
limits. The engine may be turned
off while the DPF light is on; how-
ever, repeated interruption of the
regeneration process may result in
premature exhaustion of engine oil.
For this reason it is always advis-
able to wait for the light to go off
before turning off the engine, fol-
lowing the instructions appearing
above. It is not advisable to com-
plete DPF regeneration with the
vehicle stationary

BUMP STARTING
Never bump start the engine by push-
ing, towing or driving downhill. This
could cause a flow of fuel into the cat-
alytic converter and damage it beyond
repair.
IMPORTANT Remember that the
brake servo and the electric power
steering system are not activated un-
til the engine is started, a greater ef-
fort will therefore be required to press
the brake pedal or turn the steering
wheel.
Indicate that the car is
standing according to the
laws in force: emergency lights, re-
fracting warning triangle, etc. Pas-
sengers should leave the car, partic-
ularly if it is very loaded, and wait
for the wheel to be changed away
from on-coming traffic. Arrange
wedges or other suitable material
under the wheels to block the car on
slopes or rough roads.
WARNINGAutomatic FIX & GO

WARNING
The cylinder contains
ethyl glycol. Contains la-
tex: may cause an allergic reaction.
Harmful if swallowed. Irritant for
the eye. May cause sensitization by
inhalation or contact. Avoid con-
tact with your eyes, skin and
clothes. In the event of contact,
wash immediately with plenty of
water. Do not induce vomit if swal-
lowed. Rinse your mouth and
drink plenty of water. Call a doc-
tor immediately. Keep away from
children. The product must not be
used by asthmatics. Do not breath
in the vapours during insertion and
suction. Call a doctor immediately
if allergic reactions are noted.
Store the cylinder in the specific
compartment, away from sources
of heat.

For a more accurate reading,
check pressure gauge F-fig. 6with
the compressor off;
❒if after 5 minutes it is still impossi-
ble to reach at least 1.5 bar, disen-
gage compressor from valve and
current outlet, then move the car
forth for approx. ten metres in or-
der to distribute the sealing fluid
inside the tyre evenly, then repeat
the inflation operation;
❒If after this operation it is still im-
possible after 5 minutes to reach at
least 1.8 bar, do not start driving
since the tyre is excessively dam-
aged and the quick tyre repair kit
cannot guarantee suitable sealing,
contact Lancia Dealership.
fig. 8L0D0485m
Apply the adhesive label in
a position clearly visible
by the driver as a reminder that
the tyre has been treated with the
quick repair kit. Drive carefully,
particularly on bends. Do not ex-
ceed 80 km/h. Do not accelerate or
brake suddenly.
WARNING
Stop if the pressure has
dropped to less than 1.8
bars: the automatic Fix & Go quick
repair kit cannot work properly
because the tyre is excessively
damaged. Go to a Lancia Dealer-
ship.
WARNING
❒if reaching the tyre pressure speci-
fied in paragraph “Inflation pres-
sure” in section “Technical Specifi-
cations”, start driving immediately;
❒after driving for about 10 minutes
stop and check again the tyre pres-
sure; pull up the handbrake;
❒if at least 1.8 bar pressure is read,
restore proper pressure (with en-
gine running and handbrake on)
and restart;
❒drive with the utmost care to the
nearest Lancia Dealership.
FOR CHECKING AND
RESTORING PRESSURE ONLY
The compressor may also be used for
restoring pressure only. Release the
quick coupling and connect directly
to the tyre valve; in this way, the
cylinder will not be connected to the
compressor and no sealant will be in-
jected.

Incorrect wheel cup as-
sembly may cause it to
come off when the car is travelling.
Never tamper with the inflation
valve. Never introduce tools of any
kind between rim and tyre. Check
tyre and space saver spare wheel
pressure regularly referring to the
values shown in the “Technical
Specifications” chapter.
WARNINGImportant notes:
❒the jack cannot be repaired: replace
with an original spare part if dam-
aged;
❒no tool other than its cranking de-
vice may be fitted on the jack.
To change a wheel proceed as follows:
❒stop the car in a position so that it
is not a danger for on-coming traf-
fic and where you can replace the
wheel safely. The ground must be
flat and compact;
❒turn the engine off and pull up the
handbrake.

WARNING
IMPORTANT When the weather is cold
or damp or after hard rain or after
washing, the area of headlamps or rear
lights, may steam up and/or form drops
of condensation on the inside. This is a
natural phenomenon due to the differ-
ence in temperature and humidity be-
tween the inside and the outside of the
glass which does not indicate a fault
and does not compromise the normal
operation of lighting devices. The mist
disappears quickly turning the lights
on, starting from the centre of the dif-
fuser, extending progressively towards
the edges.
