Adjusting tone quality and speaker balance :
To adjust Bass, Treble, Balance and Fade, push
the Audio control knob. When the display
shows the setting you want to change (Bass,
Treble, Balance and Fade), rotate the Audio
control knob to set the desired setting. For the
other setting methods, see ªHOW TO USE SET-
TING BUTTONº earlier in this section.
This vehicle has some sound effect functions as
follows (if so equipped):

FM-AM-SAT radio operation
orRadio (FM/AM/SAT) band select :
Pushing the radio band select button will
change the band as follows:
AM !FM !XM !AM When the radio band select button is pushed
while the ignition switch is in the ACC or ON
position, the radio will come on at the station
last played.
The last station played will also come on when
the ON´OFF/VOL control knob is pushed to ON.
The satellite radio mode requires an active XM
T
satellite radio service subscription. Satellite
radio is not available in Alaska, Hawaii and
Guam.
If another audio source is playing when the
radio band select button is turned to ON, the
audio source will automatically be turned off
and the last radio station played will come on.
When the stereo broadcast signal is weak, the
radio will automatically change from stereo to
monaural reception.
TUNE (Tuning) :
c For AM and FM radio
Turn the TUNE/FOLDER knob for manual tun-
ing.
c For satellite radio
Turn the TUNE/FOLDER knob to seek stations
from all of the categories when any CAT is
not selected.
SEEK tuning/CATEGORY
(CAT) :
c For AM and FM radio
Push the SEEK´CAT or TRACK button
orto tune from low to high or high to
low frequencies and to stop at the next
broadcasting station.
c For satellite radio
Push the SEEK´CAT or TRACK button
orto tune to the first station of the
next or previous category.
During satellite radio reception, the following
notices will be displayed under certain condi-
tions.
c NO SIGNAL (No signal is received while the
SAT tuner is connected.)
c OFF AIR (Broadcasting signed off)
c ANTENNA ERROR (Antenna connection error)
c LOADING (When the initial setting is per-
formed)
c UPDATING (When the satellite radio sub-
scription is not active)
c INVALID CH (Invalid station is received.)

While connecting the iPodTto the vehicle, the
iPodT can only be operated by the vehicle audio
controls.
To disconnect the cable from the vehicle outlet,
fully depress the center connector button to
unlatch the connector and pull the connector
straight out of the outlet. To disconnect the
cable from the iPodT, fully depress the side
connector buttons and pull the iPod Tconnector
straight out of the iPodT.

Make sure that your iPod Tfirmware is updated.
Audio main operation
Push the ignition switch to the ACC or ON
position. Then, push the DISC´AUXbutton re-
peatedly to switch to the iPodT mode.
If the system has been turned off while the
iPodT was playing, pushing the ON´OFF/VOL
control knob will start the iPodT.
DISC´AUX button :
When the DISC´AUXbutton is pushed with the
system off and the iPod Tconnected, the system
will turn on. If another audio source is playing
and the iPod Tis connected, push the DISC´AUX
button repeatedly until the center display
changes to the iPodT mode.
Interface :
The interface for iPod Toperation shown on the
vehicle center display is similar to the iPod T
interface. Use the INFINITI controller and the
ENTER orBACK button to play the iPod Twith
your favorite settings.
The following items can be chosen from the
menu list screen. For further information about
each item, see the iPodT Owner's Manual.

The following touch-panel buttons shown on

FF (Fast Forward), REW (Rewind)/APS (Automatic
Program Search) FF, APS REW :
When the
orbutton is pushed for
more than 1.5 seconds while the iPod Tis play-
ing, the iPod Twill play while fast forwarding or
rewinding. When the button is released, the
iPodT will return to the normal play speed.
When the
orbutton is pushed for
less than 1.5 seconds while the iPod Tis play-
ing, the next track or the beginning of the
current track on the iPodT will be played.
The INFINITI controller can also be used to
select tracks when the iPodT is playing.

NOTE:
cThe system starts playing and recording the
1st track on the CD when the ªRECº key is
selected.
c Individual tracks from a CD cannot be re-
corded to the Music Box hard-disk drive.
c The skip, fast forward and rewind features
are disabled while the CD is recording.
c The recording process can be stopped at any
time. All tracks that were played before the
CD was stopped are stored.
c Individual tracks can be deleted from the
hard-disk drive after the CD is recorded. If the title information of the track being re-
corded is stored either in the hard-disk drive or
in the CD, the title is automatically displayed on
the screen. For title acquisition from the hard-
disk drive, music recognition technology and
related data are provided by GracenoteT.
To view the details of the track, select the
Text
key by touching the screen or using the INFINITI
controller. The track name and album title are
displayed on the screen.
If a track is not recorded successfully due to
skipping sounds, the
mark is displayed
behind the track number. The ªMusic Boxº audio system cannot perform
recording under the following conditions.
c
There is not enough space in the hard disk
c The number of albums reaches the maximum
of 500.
c The number of tracks reaches the maximum
of 3,000.
Automatic recording :
If the ªAutomatic Recordingº function is turned
to ON, recording starts when a CD is inserted.
(See ªMusic Box settingsº later in this section.)
Stopping recording :
To stop the recording, select the STOPbutton
by touching the screen or using the INFINITI
controller.
If the CD is ejected, the audio system is turned
off or the ignition switch is pushed to the LOCK
position, the recording also stops.

cSet Mood
Set the mood category of the track to ªRe-
laxing Musicº, ªLively Musicº, ªSlow Musicº
or ªUpbeat Musicº.
c Delete Track
Delete the track being played.
c Edit Info.
Edit the name of the track being played and
its artist using the keypad displayed on the
screen. (See ªHOW TO USE TOUCH SCREEN
(models with navigation system)º earlier in
this section.) The category of the track can also be set to
Rock, Pop, Latin, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop,
Club/Dance, Punk, Reggae, Folk, Blues,
Country, Metal, Easy Listening, New Age,
Soundtrack, Gospel & Religious, World,
Classical, Children's and Others.
c Remove Track
Reset the mood setting of a track.
Restoring deleted data
Deleted music data can be restored by perform-
ing the following.
1. Select the ª Menuº key and then the
ªMusic Box System Info. º key on the
screen.
2. Select the ª Deleted Itemsº key and then
the ªAlbum/Track º key.
3. Select the ªRestore Album/Track º key to
restore the deleted music data.
You can also listen to the beginning of each
track that has been deleted by performing the
following.
1. Select the ª Menuº key and then the
ªMusic Box System Info. º key on the
screen.
2. Select the ª Deleted Itemsº key and then
the ª Play Sample º key.
Music Box settings
To set up the ªMusic boxº hard-disk drive audio
system to your preferred settings, select the
ªMenuº key during playback, ª Music Box Sys-
tem Info. º key, and ª Music Box Settings º key
with the INFINITI controller, and then push the
ENTER button.
Automatic Recording :
When this item is turned to ON, the ªMusic Boxº
hard-disk audio system automatically starts re-
cording when a CD is inserted.
Recording Quality :
Set the recording quality of 105 kbps or 132
kbps. The default is set to 132 kbps.

Parental level (parental control)
DVDs with the parental control setting can be
played with this system. Please use your own
judgement to set the parental control with the
system.
Disc selection
You can play the following disc formats with the
DVD drive:
c DVD-VIDEO
c DVD-AUDIO
c VIDEO-CD
c CD-DA (Conventional Compact Disc) (CD with
MP3/WMA cannot be played.)
Use DVDs with a region code ª1º, ªALLº or ª1
includedº for your DVD entertainment system.
(The region code is displayed as a small symbol
printed on the top of the DVD.) This vehicle-
installed DVD player cannot play DVDs with a
region code other than ª1º or ªALLº. Do not use the following DVD's as they may
cause the DVD player to malfunction:

Display settings
Front display :
To adjust the front display mode, push the
SETTING button while the DVD is being played,
select the ª Displayº key with the INFINITI
controller, and then push the ENTERbutton.
To adjust the display ON/OFF, brightness, tint,
color and contrast, select each key using the
INFINITI controller and push the ENTERbutton.
Then you can adjust each item using the
INFINITI controller.
Rear display :
To adjust the rear display mode, push the
ªDISPº (Display) button on the remote control-
ler.

To adjust the display brightness, tint, color and
contrast, select each key using the joystick on
the remote controller and tilt the joystick to
right or left.
Push theBACKbutton to apply the settings and
return to the previous display.
PLAYING A DVD
DISC´AUX button
Park the vehicle in a safe location for the front
seat occupants to operate the DVD drive while
watching the images.
Push the DISC´AUX button on the instrument
panel and turn the display to the DVD mode.
When a DVD is loaded, it will be replayed
automatically.
The operation screen will be turned on when the
DISC´AUX button located on the instrument
panel is pushed while a DVD is being played, and it will turn off automatically after a period of
time. To turn it on again, push the
DISC´AUX
button again.
DVD operation keys
To operate the DVD drive, select the desired key
displayed on the operation screen using the
INFINITI controller.
PAUSE :
Select the ª
º key and push the ENTER
button to pause the DVD. To resume playing the
DVD, use the ªPLAYº key.
To pause the DVD, it is also possible to push the
ª
º button on the keypad of the remote
controller.
PLAY :
Select the ª
º key and push the ENTER
button to start playing the DVD, for example,
after pausing the DVD.
To start playing the DVD, it is also possible to
push the ª

remote controller.
STOP :

DVD settings

Subtitle* (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-AUDIO) :
Choose the preferred language using the
INFINITI controller and push the ENTERbutton.
To turn off the subtitle, push and hold the
ENTER button until a beep sounds. Surround Information* (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-
AUDIO, VIDEO-CD, CD-DA) (Models equipped
with BOSET
Surround Sound System) :
Select the ª Surround Information º key and
push the ENTERbutton. The surround informa-
tion screen will appear.
Push the BACKbutton to return to the previous
screen.
Display Mode* (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-AUDIO, VIDEO-
CD) :
Choose from the ªFullº, ªWideº, ªNormalº or
ªCinemaº mode using the INFINITI controller
and push the ENTERbutton again.
Angle* (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-AUDIO) :
If the DVD contains different angles (such as
moving images), the current image angle can be
switched to another one.
Select the ªAngle º key and push the ENTER
button. When the ª+º side or ª 2º side is
selected, the angle will change.
Angle Mark (DVD-VIDEO, DVD-AUDIO) :
When this item is turned on, an angle mark will
be shown on the bottom of the screen if the
scene can be seen from a different angle.
