OnStar®uses several innovative technologies and live
advisors to provide a wide range of safety, security,
navigation, diagnostics, and calling services.
Automatic Crash Response
In a crash, built in sensors can automatically alert an
OnStar advisor who is immediately connected to the
vehicle to see if you need help.

OnStar service cannot work unless the vehicle is in a
place where OnStar has an agreement with a wireless
service provider for service in that area. OnStar service
also cannot work unless the vehicle is in a place where
the wireless service provider OnStar has hired for that
area has coverage, network capacity and reception
when the service is needed, and technology that is
compatible with the OnStar service. Not all services are
available everywhere, particularly in remote or enclosed
areas, or at all times.

Storage Areas
Glove Box
Lift up the glove box handle to open it. Use the key to
lock and unlock the glove box.
Cupholders
Cupholders may be located in the front and rear of the
console or in the fold down armrest. Cupholders may
also be located in the second and third row seat
armrest areas.
Press down and release the access door latch button to
open the door and use the front cupholder. Push the
door back down to close the cupholder. Squeeze the
top center of the cupholder front and pull it out from
under the chrome ring to remove it for cleaning.
Pull downward on the cover, in the rear floor console to
access the cupholders.
Instrument Panel Storage
For vehicles with a front closed storage area, located on
the instrument panel above the compact disc changer,
open it by pressing the bottom of the lid. Press down on
the lid to close the storage area.

Vehicle Identification
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
This legal identifier is in the front corner of the
instrument panel, on the driver side. It can be seen
through the windshield from outside. The VIN also
appears on the Certification/Tire and Service Parts
labels and certificates of title and registration.
Engine Identification
The eighth character in the VIN is the engine code.
This code identifies the vehicle's engine, specifications,
and replacement parts. See“Engine Specifications”
under Capacities and Specifications
on page 6‑115for
the vehicle's engine code.
Service Parts Identification Label
This label, on the inside of the glove box, has the
following information:
.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
.Model designation
.Paint information
.Production options and special equipment
Do not remove this label from the vehicle.
Electrical System
Add-On Electrical Equipment
Notice: Do not add anything electrical to the vehicle
unless you check with your dealer/retailer first.
Some electrical equipment can damage the vehicle
and the damage would not be covered by the
vehicle's warranty. Some add-on electrical
equipment can keep other components from
working as they should.
Add-on equipment can drain the vehicle battery, even if
the vehicle is not operating.
