MONITORING
Deactivation indicator lamps
I f o n e o f t h e f o l l o w i n g i n d i c a t o r l a m p s c o m e s o n , t h i s c o n fi r m s t h a t t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g s y s t e m h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f
intentionally.
This is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction screen.
Passenger's
airbag
system fi x e d . The control, located in the
glove box, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front
airbag is deactivated.
In this case you can install
a "rear facing" child seat. Set the control to the
ON position to activate the
p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g . I n t h i s c a s e , d o n o t fi t a
child seat in the rear-facing position.
The passenger's airbag system is put into
service automatically when the vehicle is started
( ON position).
ESP/ASR fi x e d . The button, located at
the bottom left of the
dashboard, is pressed. Its
indicator lamp is on.
The ESP/ASR is
deactivated.
ESP: electronic stability
programme.
ASR: anti-skid regulation. Press the button to activate the ESP/ASR. Its
indicator lamp switches off.
From approximately 30 mph (50 km/h), the
system is reactivated automatically.
The ESP/ASR system is activated automatically
when the vehicle is started.

Component which protects against sun-
light from the front or the side.
Version without Zenith windscreen
ILLUMINATED GLOVE BOX
This can be used to hold a water bottle.
Its lid has a location for storing the vehi-
cle's handbook pack.
To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is lit when the lid is opened.
It houses the front passenger's airbag
deactivation switch A .
Depending on your vehicle version, it
provides access to the ventilation noz-
zle B , distributing the same conditioned
air as the vents in the passenger com-
partment.
CENTRE ARMREST
Comfort and storage system for the
driver and front passenger.
Storage
For access to the closed storage
box, lift the lever to open the lid.
For access to the open storage box
below the armrest, lift the complete
armrest towards the rear.
These can be used for portable devices
(mobile phone, MP3 player ...) which can
be connected to the USB port/auxiliary
socket or charged from the 12 V socket
in the centre console.
Version with Zenith windscreen

the centre of the steering wheel; the
f r o n t p a s s e n g e r ' s a i r b a g i s i n c o r p o r a t e d
in the dashboard above the glove box.

I f a c o l l i s i o n o c c u r s , t h e e l e c t r o n i c d e -
tectors record and analyse the front and
s i d e i m p a c t s s u s t a i n e d i n t h e i m p a c t
d e t e c t i o n z o n e s :
- i n t h e c a s e o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t , t h e
airbags are triggered instantly and
p r o t e c t t h e o c c u p a n t s o f t h e v e h i c l e
( w i t h t h e e x c e p t i o n o f t h e r e a r c e n t r e
p a s s e n g e r ) ; i m m e d i a t e l y a f t e r t h e
i m p a c t , t h e a i r b a g s d e fl a t e r a p i d l y
so that they do not hinder visibility
o r t h e e x i t o f t h e o c c u p a n t s ,
- i n t h e c a s e o f a m i n o r o r r e a r i m p a c t o r i n c e r t a i n r o l l - o v e r c o n d i t i o n s , t h e
airbags will not be triggered; the
s e a t b e l t a l o n e i s s u f fi c i e n t t o p r o -
v i d e o p t i m u m p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e s e
s i t u a t i o n s .
