Windshield Wiper/Washer
The lever is on the left side of the steering column.
8:Single wipe, turn to8, then release.
Several wipes, hold the band on8longer.
9:Turns the windshield wipers off.
6:Turn the band up for more frequent wipes or downfor less frequent wipes.
6:Slow wipes.
?:Fast wipes.
L:Push the paddle at the top of the lever to spraywasher fluid on the windshield.

To unlock the liftgate, use the power door lock switch orpress the door unlock button on the Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) transmitter twice. SeeRemote KeylessEntry (RKE) System Operationo n p a g e 3!4.
On vehicles with a liftglass, press the button on theunderside of the license pocket applique (A) to open it.The liftglass can also be opened by pressing theliftglass release button on the RKE.
To open the entire liftgate, press the powerliftgate release button on the RKE or in the vehicle.SeePower Liftgateon page 3!14. You can alsopress the touchpad on the underside of the liftgatehandle (B). The liftgate will open after a slight delay.The vehicle must be in P (Park) to open the liftgate.To close the liftgate, use the pull cup or pull strapas an aid.
The liftgate or liftglass cannot be opened if the rearwipers are in motion. Attempting to open the liftgate orliftglass while the rear wipers are in motion will causethe release of the liftglass or liftgate to delay until thewipers are parked off the liftglass.
Both the liftglass and liftgate have an electric latch.If the battery is disconnected or has low voltage, theliftglass and liftgate will not open. The liftglass andliftgate will resume operation when the battery isreconnected and charged.
If the battery is properly connected and has adequatevoltage, and the liftgate or liftglass still will not function,your vehicle should be taken to a dealership for service.

Ignition Positions
The ignition switch hasfour different positions.
To shift out of P (Park), the ignition must be in ON/RUNor ACC/ACCESSORY and the regular brake pedal mustbe applied.
A (LOCK/OFF) :This position locks the ignition.It may also lock the steering wheel and automatictransmission. The key can be removed in LOCK/OFF.
On vehicles with an automatic transmission, the shiftlever must be in P (Park) to turn the ignition switchto LOCK/OFF.
The steering may bind with the wheels turned off center.If this happens, move the steering wheel from right toleft while turning the key to ACC/ACCESSORY. If thisdoesn't work, then the vehicle needs service.
Notice:Using a tool to force the key to turn in theignition could cause damage to the switch or breakthe key. Use the correct key, make sure it is all theway in, and turn it only with your hand. If the keycannot be turned by hand, see your dealer/retailer.
B (ACC/ACCESSORY) :This position lets things likethe radio and the windshield wipers operate while theengine is off. Use this position if the vehicle must bepushed or towed.

Heated Steering Wheel
For vehicles with a heated steering wheel, the buttonfor this feature is located on the steering wheel.
(:Press to turn the heated steering wheel on or off.A light on the button displays when the feature isturned on.
The steering wheel takes about three minutes to startheating.

The lever on the left side of the steering columnincludes the following:

Flash-to-Pass
This feature lets you use the high-beam headlamps tosignal a driver in front of you that you want to pass.It works even if the headlamps are in the automaticposition.
To use it, pull the turn signal lever toward you, thenrelease it.
If the headlamps are in the automatic position or on lowbeam, the high-beam headlamps will turn on. They willstay on as long as you hold the lever toward you. Thehigh-beam indicator on the instrument panel cluster willcome on. Release the lever to return to normaloperation.
For vehicles with High Intensity Discharge (HID)headlamps, the low!beam headlamps must be on forthe flash!to!pass feature to work.
Windshield Wipers
Turn the band with the wiper symbol to control thewindshield wipers.
8(Mist):Single wipe, turn to8, then release.
Several wipes, hold the band on8longer.
9(Off):Turns the windshield wipers off.
6(Adjustable Interval Wipes):Turn the band up formore frequent wipes or down for less frequent wipes.
6(Low Speed):Slow wipes.
?(High Speed):Fast wipes.

Clear ice and snow from the wiper blades before usingthem. If frozen to the windshield, carefully loosen orthaw them. Damaged wiper blades should be replaced.SeeWindshield Wiper Blade Replacementonpage 7!57.
Heavy snow or ice can overload the wiper motor.A circuit breaker will stop the motor until it cools down.
Windshield Washer
{WARNING:
In freezing weather, do not use your washer until
the windshield is warmed. Otherwise the washer
fluid can form ice on the windshield, blocking your
vision.
L(Washer Fluid):Push the paddle marked with thewindshield washer symbol at the top of the multifunctionlever, to spray washer fluid on the windshield. Thewipers clear the window and then either stop or returnto the preset speed.
Rear Window Wiper/Washer
{WARNING:
In freezing weather, do not use your washer until
the windshield is warmed. Otherwise the washer
fluid can form ice on the windshield, blocking your
vision.
The rear wiper control is located on the turn signal/multifunction lever.
To turn the rear wiper on, slide the lever to a wiperposition.
9(Off) :Turns the wiper off.
5(Rear Wiper Delay):Turns on the rear wiper delay.
Z(Rear Wiper):Turns on the rear wiper.
=(Rear Wiper Wash):To turn on the rear wiper wash,push the button on the end of the turn signal/multifunction lever to spray washer fluid on the rearwindow. The wipers will clear the rear window andeither stop or return to your preset speed. For morewasher cycles, press and hold the button.

Windshield, Backglass, and Wiper
Blades
Clean the outside of the windshield and backglass withglass cleaner.
Clean the rubber blades using a lint free cloth or papertowel soaked with windshield washer fluid or a milddetergent. Wash the windshield thoroughly when youclean the blades. Bugs, road grime, sap and a buildupof vehicle wash/wax treatments may cause wiperstreaking. Replace the wiper blades if they are worn ordamaged.
Wipers can be damaged by:
.Extreme dusty conditions
.Sand and salt
.Heat and sun
.Snow and ice, without proper removal
Aluminum or Chrome-Plated Wheels
and Trim
The vehicle may have either aluminum orchrome-plated wheels.
Keep the wheels clean using a soft clean cloth with mildsoap and water. Rinse with clean water. After rinsingthoroughly, dry with a soft clean towel. A wax may thenbe applied.
Notice:Chrome wheels and other chrome trim maybe damaged if the vehicle is not washed afterdriving on roads that have been sprayed withmagnesium, calcium or sodium chloride. Thesechlorides are used on roads for conditions such asice and dust. Always wash the vehicle's chromewith soap and water after exposure.
Notice:Using strong soaps, chemicals, abrasivepolishes, cleaners, brushes, or cleaners that containacid on aluminum or chrome-plated wheels, coulddamage the surface of the wheel(s). The repairswould not be covered by the vehicle warranty. Useonly approved cleaners on aluminum orchrome-plated wheels.
