Heated Steering Wheel
For vehicles with a heated steering wheel, the buttonfor this feature is located on the steering wheel.
(:Press to turn the heated steering wheel on or off.A light on the button displays when the feature isturned on.
The steering wheel takes about three minutes to startheating.

The lever on the left side of the steering columnincludes the following:

Turn and Lane-Change Signals
An arrow on theinstrument panel clusterflashes in the direction ofthe turn or lane change.
Move the lever all the way up or down to signal a turn.
Raise or lower the lever for less than one seconduntil the arrow starts to flash to signal a lane change.This causes the turn signals to automatically flashthree times. It will flash six times if tow-haul mode isactive. Holding the turn signal lever for more thanone second will cause the turn signals to flash untilyou release the lever.
The lever returns to its starting position whenever it isreleased.
If after signaling a turn or a lane change the arrowsflash rapidly or do not come on, a signal bulb could beburned out.
Have the bulbs replaced. If the bulb is not burned out,check the fuse. SeeFuses and Circuit Breakersonpage 7!108.
Turn Signal On Chime
If the turn signal is left on for more than 3/4 of a mile(1.2 km), a chime will sound at each flash of the turnsignal and the message TURN SIGNAL ON will alsoappear in the Driver Information Control (DIC). To turnthe chime and message off, move the turn signal leverto the off position.
Headlamp High/Low-Beam Changer
53(Headlamp High/Low Beam Changer) :To changethe headlamps from low to high beam, push the levertoward the instrument panel. To return to low-beamheadlamps, pull the multifunction lever toward you.Then release it.
When the high beams areon, this indicator light onthe instrument panelcluster will also be on.

Flash-to-Pass
This feature lets you use the high-beam headlamps tosignal a driver in front of you that you want to pass.It works even if the headlamps are in the automaticposition.
To use it, pull the turn signal lever toward you, thenrelease it.
If the headlamps are in the automatic position or on lowbeam, the high-beam headlamps will turn on. They willstay on as long as you hold the lever toward you. Thehigh-beam indicator on the instrument panel cluster willcome on. Release the lever to return to normaloperation.
For vehicles with High Intensity Discharge (HID)headlamps, the low!beam headlamps must be on forthe flash!to!pass feature to work.
Windshield Wipers
Turn the band with the wiper symbol to control thewindshield wipers.
8(Mist):Single wipe, turn to8, then release.
Several wipes, hold the band on8longer.
9(Off):Turns the windshield wipers off.
6(Adjustable Interval Wipes):Turn the band up formore frequent wipes or down for less frequent wipes.
6(Low Speed):Slow wipes.
?(High Speed):Fast wipes.

The exterior lampscontrol is located on theinstrument panel to theleft of the steering wheel.
It controls the following systems:

The exterior lamps control has four positions:
9(Off):Turns off the automatic headlamps anddaytime running lamps (DRL). Turning the headlampcontrol to the off position again will turn the automaticheadlamps or DRL back on.
For vehicles first sold in Canada, the off position onlyworks when the vehicle is shifted into the P (Park)position.
AUTO (Automatic) :Automatically turns on theheadlamps at normal brightness, together with thefollowing:
.Parking Lamps
.Instrument Panel Lights
.Taillamps
.License Plate Lamps
;(Parking Lamps) :Turns on the parking lampstogether with the following:
.Instrument Panel Lights
.Taillamps
.License Plate Lamps
2(Headlamps) :Turns on the headlamps togetherwith the following lamps listed below.

When the headlamps are turned on while the vehicle ison, the headlamps will turn off automatically 10 minutesafter the ignition is turned off. When the headlampsare turned on while the vehicle is off, the headlampswill stay on for 10 minutes before automaticallyturning off to prevent the battery from being drained.

Turn the headlamp control to off and then back to theheadlamp on position to make the headlamps stay onfor an additional 10 minutes.
IntelliBeam®Intelligent High-Beam
Headlamp Control System
For vehicles with this feature, be sure to read thisentire section before using it.
IntelliBeam®is an enhancement to the vehicle'sheadlamp system. Using a digital light sensor on therearview mirror, this system will turn the vehicle'shigh-beam headlamps on and off according tosurrounding traffic conditions.
The IntelliBeam®system turns the high-beamheadlamps on when it is dark enough, there is no othertraffic present, and the IntelliBeam®system is enabled.
Turning On and Enabling IntelliBeam®
Press and release the IntelliBeam®button on the insiderear view mirror. The IntelliBeam®indicator on themirror will turn on to let you know the system has beenturned on. Once the system has been turned on, it willremain on each time the vehicle is started. Additionally,the IntelliBeam®system must be enabled.
To enable the IntelliBeam®system, turn the exteriorlamp control to AUTO, with the turn signal/multifunctionlever in its neutral position. The High-Beam On Lightwill appear on the instrument panel cluster when thehigh-beams are on. SeeHighbeam On Lightonpage 4!40.
Driving with IntelliBeam®
IntelliBeam®will only activate your high-beams whendriving over 20 mph (32 km/h).
The high-beam headlamps will remain on, under theautomatic control of IntelliBeam®, until any of thefollowing situations occur:
.The system detects an approaching vehicle'sheadlamps.
.The system detects a preceding vehicle'staillamps.
.The outside light is bright enough that high-beamheadlamps are not required.
.The vehicle's speed drops below 15 mph(24 km/h).

.The headlamp stalk is moved forward to thehigh-beam position. SeeHeadlamp High/Low-Beam Changero n p a g e 4!5.
When either of these conditions occur, theIntelliBeam®feature will be disabled and theIntelliBeam®light in the mirror will turn off until thehigh-beam stalk is returned to the neutral position.
.If IntelliBeam®was using low-beams prior to thisaction, the IntelliBeam®feature will be temporarilydisabled until the stalk is returned to the neutralposition.
.The exterior lamp control is turned to any settingexcept AUTO.
When this occurs, IntelliBeam®will be disableduntil the control is turned back to the AUTOposition.
.The IntelliBeam®system is turned off at the insiderearview mirror.
IntelliBeam®may not turn off the high-beams if thesystem cannot detect other vehicle's lamps because ofany of the following:
.The others vehicle's lamp(s) are missing,damaged, obstructed from view or otherwiseundetected.
.The other vehicle's lamp(s) are covered with dirt,snow and/or road spray.
.The other vehicle's lamp(s) cannot be detecteddue to dense exhaust, smoke, fog, snow, roadspray, mist or other airborne obstructions.
.Your vehicle's windshield is dirty, cracked orobstructed by something that blocks the view ofthe IntelliBeam light sensor.
.Your vehicle's windshield is covered with ice, dirt,haze or other obstructions.
.Your vehicle is loaded such that the front end ofthe vehicle points upward, causing the IntelliBeamsensor to aim high and not detect headlamps andtaillamps.
.You are driving on winding or hilly roads.
You may need to manually disable or cancel thehigh-beam headlamps by turning the low-beamheadlamps on, if any of the above conditions exist.

Headlamps on Reminder
If a door is open, a reminder chime sounds when theheadlamps or parking lamps are manually turned onand the key is out of the ignition. To turn off the chime,turn the headlamp switch to off or AUTO and then backon, or close and re-open the door. In the AUTO mode,the headlamps turn off once the ignition is in LOCK/OFFor remains on until the headlamp delay ends (if enabledin the DIC). See“Exit Lighting”underDIC VehicleCustomization on page 4!57.
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) can make it easier forothers to see the front of your vehicle during the day.Fully functional daytime running lamps are required onall vehicles first sold in Canada.
The DRL system comes on when the followingconditions are met:
.The ignition is on.
.The exterior lamps control is in AUTO.
.The engine is running.
.The light sensor determines it is daytime.
When the DRL system is on, only the DRL lamps areon. The taillamps, sidemarker, instrument panel lights,and other lamps will not be on.
When it begins to get dark, the automatic headlampsystem switches from DRL to the headlamps.
To turn off the DRL lamps, turn the exterior lampscontrol to the OFF position and then release. Forvehicles first sold in Canada, the transmission must bein the P (Park) position, before the DRL lamps can beturned off.
Automatic Headlamp System
When it is dark enough outside, the automaticheadlamp system turns on the headlamps at the normalbrightness, along with the taillamps, sidemarker, parkinglamps, and the instrument panel lights. The radio lightswill also be dim.
To turn off the automatic headlamp system, turn theexterior lamps switch to the off position and thenrelease it. For vehicles first sold in Canada, thetransmission must be in the P (Park) position, beforethe automatic headlamp system can be turned off.
The vehicle has a light sensor located on the top of theinstrument panel in the defroster grille that regulateswhen the automatic headlamps turn on. Do not coverthe sensor or the headlamps will come on whenever theignition is on.
The system may also turn on the headlamps whendriving through a parking garage, heavy overcastweather, or a tunnel. This is normal.

There is a delay in the transition between the daytimeand nighttime operation of the Daytime Running Lamps(DRL) and the automatic headlamp systems so thatdriving under bridges or bright overhead street lightsdoes not affect the system. The DRL and automaticheadlamp system is only affected when the light sensordetects a change in lighting lasting longer than thedelay.
If the vehicle is started in a dark garage, the automaticheadlamp system will come on immediately. Once thevehicle leaves the garage, it takes approximatelyone minute for the automatic headlamp system tochange to DRL if it is bright enough outside. During thatdelay, the instrument panel cluster may not be as brightas usual. Make sure the instrument panel brightnesscontrol is in the full bright position. SeeInstrumentPanel Brightness on page 4!16.
To idle the vehicle with the automatic headlamp systemoff, turn the control to the off position.
The headlamps will also stay on after you exit thevehicle. This feature can be programmed using theDriver Information Center (DIC). SeeDIC VehicleCustomization on page 4!57.
The regular headlamp system can be turned on whenneeded.
Fog Lamps
For vehicles with fog lamps, the control is located nextto the exterior lamps control on the instrument panel tothe left of the steering column.
#(Fog Lamps):Press the button to turn the fog lampson or off. A indicator light comes on in the instrumentpanel cluster. The ignition must be in the ON/RUNposition for the fog lamps to come on.
When the fog lamps are turned on, the headlampsautomatically turn on.
When the headlamps are changed to high-beam, thefog lamps also go off. When the high-beam headlampsgo off, the fog lamps will come on again.
Some localities have laws that require the headlamps tobe on along with the fog lamps.
Instrument Panel Brightness
D(Instrument Panel Brightness) :This featurecontrols the brightness of the instrument panel lightsand is located next to the exterior lamp control.
Push the knob to extend out and then it can be turned.
Turn the knob clockwise or counterclockwise to brightenor dim the instrument panel lights. Turning the knob tothe farthest clockwise position turns on the dome lamps.
