Deactivation warning lamps
If one of the following warning lamps
c o m e s o n , t h i s c o n fi r m s t h a t t h e c o r r e -
sponding system has been switched off
intentionally. Passenger's airbag system
deactivation.
The passenger's airbag system
is put into service automatically
when the vehicle is started.
A s p e c i fi c c o n t r o l s w i t c h , l o c a t e d o n t h e
passenger's side of the dashboard, per-
mits deactivation of the system. This is
c o n fi r m e d b y c o n t i n u o u s l i g h t i n g o f t h i s
warning lamp on the instrument panel
or on the seat belt and passenger's
front airbag warning lamps display. Dynamic stability control
(ESP/ASR) deactivation
The ESP/ASR system is put
into service automatically when
the vehicle is started.

tivation of the system. This is
c o n fi r m e d b y c o n t i n u o u s l i g h t -
ing of this warning lamp and of the indi-
cator lamp on the button.
From approximately 30 mph (50 km/h),
the system is reactivated automatically.

Temporarily keeping the dipped beam
headlamps on after the vehicle's igni-
tion has been switched off makes the
driver's exit easier when the light is
poor.

time. Automatic illumination of
headlamps
The sidelamps and dipped beam head-
lamps are switched on automatically,
without any action on the part of the
driver, when a low level of external light
is detected or in certain cases of activa-
tion of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a
s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l o r a f t e r t h e w i n d s c r e e n
wipers are switched off, the lamps are
switched off automatically.
Activation
Turn the ring to the "AUTO" position.
The automatic illumination of head-
lamps is accompanied by a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen.
Deactivation
Turn the ring to another position.
Deactivation is accompanied by
a message on the multifunction
screen.
Daytime running lamps
Daytime lighting, compulsory in certain
countries, which comes on automati-
cally when the engine is started making
the vehicle more visible to other users.
This function is assured:
- in countries where it is imposed by
regulations,
by illumination of the dipped beam headlamps with the sidelamps and
number plate lamps.
- for other countries where it is provid- ed, by the use of dedicated lamps.
The instruments and controls (instru-
ment panel, multifunction screen, air
c o n d i t i o n i n g c o n t r o l p a n e l , . . . ) a r e n o t
illuminated, except in night mode with
manual or automatic illumination of
headlamps. This function can be ac-
tivated or deactivated via
t h e v e h i c l e c o n fi g u r a t i o n
menu.

Windscreen and headlamp
wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash
then the windscreen wipers operate
f o r a fi x e d p e r i o d .
The headlamp washers only operate
when the dipped beam headlamps
are on .
Screenwash/headlamp wash low
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h
headlamp washers, when the
minimum level of the reservoir is
reached, this warning lamp and/or
the service warning lamp is displayed on
the instrument panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the multi-
function screen.
N e x t t i m e y o u s t o p , fi l l t h e s c r e e n w a s h /
headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning lamp is displayed when the ig-
nition is switched on, or every time the stalk
i s o p e r a t e d , u n t i l t h e r e s e r v o i r i s fi l l e d .
Automatic rain sensitive
windscreen wipers
The windscreen wipers operate automati-
cally, without any action on the part of the
driver, if rain is detected (sensor behind the
r e a r v i e w m i r r o r ) , a d a p t i n g t h e i r s p e e d t o
the intensity of the rainfall.
Activation
This is controlled manually by the driver
by pushing the stalk downwards to the
"AUTO" position.
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction screen.
Do not cover the rain sensor, linked
with the sunshine sensor and locat-
ed in the centre of the windscreen
behind the rear view mirror.
Switch off the automatic rain sen-
sitive wipers when using an auto-
matic car wash.
In winter, to avoid damaging the
wiper blades, it is advisable to wait
until the windscreen is completely
clear of ice before activating the
automatic rain sensitive wipers. The automatic rain sensitive wipers
must be reactivated if the ignition has
been off for more than one minute, by
pushing the stalk downwards.
Switching off
This is controlled manually by the driver
by moving the stalk upwards then re-
turning it to position "0" .
It is accompanied by a message on the
multifunction screen. Operating fault
If an automatic wiping malfunction oc-
curs, the wipers will operate in intermit-
tent mode.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
