Operation indicator lamps

switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards twice to
switch off the front foglamps.
Rear
foglamps fi x e d . The rear foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to switch off
the rear foglamps.

Access to the retractable screen
This screen is opened and stored auto-
matically.
However, you can also open it, store it
and adjust it using the various manual
controls:
- opening or storing by means of con-trol A ,
- angle adjustments by means of con- trol B .

O p e n i n g t h e s c r e e n
With the screen stored, press con-
trol A to open it.
The screen opens automatically when
the ignition is switched on, when the
audio and telematics system is switched
on, when an outgoing telephone call is
made, when a voice command is given
and when a warning message linked with
the STOP warning lamp is received. C l o s i n g t h e s c r e e n
With the screen open, press control A
to store it.
The screen is stored automatically
when the ignition is switched off, after
approximately three seconds, if the au-
dio and telematics system is off.
If you wish the screen to open
or close automatically when
the audio and telematics sys-
tem is switched on or off, the screen
must not be closed when the audio
and telematics system is operating. When the screen is open, you can ad-
just it precisely in different ways:
press the corresponding part of con-
trol B to move the screen towards
you or towards the windscreen,
or
push or pull the screen gently by
hand.

If the screen meets an obstacle as it
opens or closes, the movement stops
immediately and is reversed by a few
millimetres.
After clearing the obstacle, issue the
command required again. S t o r i n g t h e p o s i t i o n o f t h e s c r e e n
The system has four pre-set positions
in its memory.
Each time the screen is closed, the
system stores the last position of the
screen.
Each time the screen is re-opened, the
system returns the screen to the pre-set
position closest to that stored.
If you close the screen dur-
ing operation of the audio and
telematics system, it will re-
open automatically when an outgoing
telephone call is made, when a voice
command is given or when a warning
message linked with the STOP warn-
ing lamp is received.

Recommendations for ventilation and air conditioning
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and mainte-
nance guidelines below:
If the interior temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been
p a r k e d i n t h e s u n f o r a c o n s i d e r a b l e t i m e , fi r s t v e n t i l a t e t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m -
partment for a few minutes.
P l a c e t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l a t a s u f fi c i e n t l e v e l t o p r o v i d e a n a d e q u a t e r e n e w a l
of air in the passenger compartment.
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obst ruct the exterior air
intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, the n ozzles, the vents
and the air outlets, as well as the air extractor located in the boot.
Use in preference the intake of exterior air as prolonged use of the air recir-
culation may cause misting of the windows and side windows.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the dashboard; this is used for
regulation of the automatic air conditioning system.
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, on ce or twice a
month to keep it in perfect working order.

The air conditioning uses power from the engine while op erating. This results
in an increase in the vehicle's fuel consumption.
When towing at or near maximum capacity or on steep slopes in h igh ambient
temperatures, switching off the air conditioning saves engine power and so
improves towing capacity.
Condensation created by the air conditioning results in a d ischarge of water
under the vehicle when stationary, which is perfectly normal.
To ensure correct operation of the air conditioning system, you are also
advised to have it checked regularly.
If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer. The air conditioning system
does not contain chlorine and
does not present any danger
to the ozone layer.

Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must

Opening the cap may trigger an in-
rush of air. This vacuum, which is
c o m p l e t e l y n o r m a l , i s c a u s e d b y t h e
sealing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
the engine must be switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
When refuelling is complete:
p u t t h e c a p b a c k i n p l a c e ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Operating fault
A malfunction of the fuel gauge is indi-
c a t e d b y t h e r e t u r n t o z e r o o f t h e f u e l
gauge needle.

Refuelling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fi l l e r
fl a p r e m i n d s y o u o f t h e t y p e o f f u e l t o b e
used according to your engine.
M o r e t h a n 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l m u s t b e a d d -
e d i n o r d e r t o b e r e g i s t e r e d b y t h e f u e l
gauge. When the low fuel level is
reached, this warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
p a n e l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e
in the multifunction screen. When the
l a m p fi r s t c o m e s o n , t h e r e i s approxi-
mately
6 litres of fuel remaining.
U n t i l s u f fi c i e n t f u e l h a s b e e n a d d e d , t h i s
warning lamp appears every time the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e . W h e n
d r i v i n g , t h i s a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d m e s s a g e
are repeated with increasing frequency,
as the fuel level drops towards "0" .
You must refuel to avoid run-
ning out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer
also to the "Checks" section.

Rear parcel shelf To fold it:
unhook the two cords,
fold it concertina-style to the rear
seats.
To remove it:
fold the rear parcel shelf as de-
scribed above,

the right by pushing gently,
place your hands as shown on the
illustration then pull the assembly
towards you, To store it at the bottom of the boot:
remove the rear parcel shelf as de-
scribed above,
p l a c e t h e fl o o r a t a n a n g l e ,
place the rear parcel shelf in its lo-
cation (recess marked A ), at bottom
of the boot,
the rear parcel shelf will be protected if
y o u p l a c e t h e fl o o r i n t h e i n t e r m e d i a t e
position.
This consists of three sections which
can be folded back on each other.
To put it back in place:
take hold of the rear parcel shelf
with both hands then place it on its
support,
unfold it to the boot pillars,
hook the two cords,
if necessary, press on the top of the
rear parcel shelf, on the left and on
t h e r i g h t , t o e n g a g e t h e fi x i n g s .

When changing a wheel
The hooks facilitate access
to the spare wheel, retain-
ing the boot carpet by means of the
two cords.
The hooks can be used to secure shop-
ping bags.

To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 W), remove the cap and
connect an appropriate adaptor.
Turn the key to the ignition position.

Observe the loads indicated on the side
of the boot, in accordance with the posi-

For safety reasons in case of sharp
braking, we recommend that heavy ob-
j e c t s a r e p l a c e d o n t h e fl o o r a s c l o s e a s
possible to the back of the rear seats.
