Blind spot sensors
This driving assistance system warns the driver of the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot angle of their vehicle, as soon as this presents a potential danger.
Operation
This system is designed to improve safety when driving and is in no circumstances a substitute for the use of the interior rear view mirror and door mirrors. It is the driver's responsibility to constantly check the traffic, to ass es the distances and relative speeds of other vehicles and to predict their movements before de ciding whether to change lane. The blind spot sensor system can never replace the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
 On switching on the ignition, or engine running, press this button to activate the function; the warning lamp comes on.
Sensors fitted in the front and rear bumpers monitor obscured zones in the driver's field of vision.
A warning lamp appears in the door mirror on the side in question: - immediately, when being over taken, - after a delay of one second, when over taking another vehicle too slowly.

Bonnet
Opening
 Open the front left door.  Pull the interior bonnet release lever A , located at the bottom of the door aper ture.
 Push the exterior safety catch B to the left and raise the bonnet.  Unclip the stay C from its housing.  Fix the stay in the notch to hold the bonnet open.
The location of the interior bonnet release lever prevents opening of
the bonnet while the front left door is closed.
When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the bonnet stay with care (risk of burns).
Before doing anything under the bonnet, switch off the Stop & Star t
system to avoid any risk of injury resulting from an automatic change to START mode.

Closing
Running out of fuel
(Diesel)
If your vehicle is fitted with an HDI engine, the fuel system must be primed if you run out of fuel; refer to the engine compar tment view on the "Diesel engine" page.
1.6 litre Turbo HDI engine
 Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of diesel.  Open the bonnet.  Squeeze and release the priming pump repeatedly until it hardens (it may be hard at the first press).  Operate the star ter until the engine star ts.  Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not star t first time, don't keep trying. Operate the priming pump again, then the star ter motor.
 Take the stay out of the suppor t notch.  Clip the stay in its housing.  Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel.  Pull on the bonnet to check that it is secured correctly.
2 litre Turbo HDI engine
 Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of
Diesel.  Open the bonnet.  Unclip the style cover for access to the priming pump.  Slacken the bleed screw.  Squeeze and release the priming pump repeatedly until fuel appears in the transparent pipe with the green connector.  Retighten the bleed screw.  Operate the star ter until the engine star ts.  Put the style cover back in position and clip it in place.  Close the bonnet.

1. Power steering reser voir. 2. Screenwash and headlamp wash reser voir. 3. Coolant reser voir. 4. Brake fluid reser voir. 5. Battery/Fuses. 6. Fusebox. 7. Air filter. 8. Engine oil dipstick. 9. Engine oil filler cap.

Diesel engines
The various caps and covers allow access for checking the levels of the various fluids, for replacing cer tain components and for priming the fuel system.

Checking levels
Check all of these levels regularly and top them up if necessary, unless other wise indicated. If a level drops significantly, have the corresponding system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified wo rkshop.
Oil level
Engine oil change
Refer to the Maintenance and Warranty Guide for the inter val for this operation.
In order to maintain the reliability of the engine and emission control system, the use of additives in the engine oil is prohibited.
Oil specifi cation
The oil must correspond to your engine and conform to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Brake fluid level
Changing the fl uid
Refer to the Maintenance and Warranty Guide for the inter val for this operation.
Fluid specifi cation
The brake fluid must conform to the manufacturer's recommendations and meet the DOT4 standard.
The brake fluid level should be close to the "MA X" mark. If it is not, check the brake pad wear.
The reading will only be correct if the vehicle is on level ground and the engine has been off for more than30 minutes. The check is carried out either when the ignition is switched on using the oil level indicator in the instrument panel, or using the dipstick.
When working under the bonnet, take care, as cer tain areas of the engine may be extremely hot (risk of burns).

Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.
Coolant specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Coolant level
The coolant level should be close to the "MA X" mark but should never exceed it. When the engine is warm, the temperature of the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can operate with the ignition off. On vehicles which are fitted with a par ticle
emission filter, the fan may operate after the vehicle has been switched off, even if the engine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised, wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before carrying out any work. To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Power steering fluid level
The power steering fluid level should be close to the "MA X" mark. Unscrew the cap, with the engine cold, to check the level.
To check the level or top up the fluid, immobilise the vehicle and switch of the engine.
