Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Front
foglamps fi x e d . The front foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards twice
to switch off the front foglamps.
Rear
foglamps fi x e d . The rear foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to
switch off the rear foglamps.
Diesel engine
pre-heating fi x e d . The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp has switched off befor
e starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on is d etermined
by the climatic conditions.
Parking brake fi x e d .
The parking brake is applied
or not properly released. Release the parking brake to switch off the
warning lamp, keeping your foot on the
brake pedal.
Observe the safety recommendations.

The parking space sensors
function is active. Press the corresponding button to

Electric child
lock temporarily. The electric child lock is
activated. Displayed for a few seconds after activating
the function and every time the ignition is

PARKING SPACE SENSORS
After measuring the parking space
available between two vehicles or
obstacles, this system gives you in-
formation on:
- t h e p o s s i b i l i t y o f fi t t i n g i n t o a f r e e space, depending on the dimen-
sions of your vehicle and the dis-
tances needed for manoeuvring,
- t h e l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a - noeuvre to be performed.
The system does not measure spac-
es which are clearly much smaller or
l a r g e r t h a n t h e s i z e o f t h e v e h i c l e . Displays on the instrument

The parking space sensor
function warning lamp can
have three different states:
- off: the function is not selected,
- o n fi x e d : the function is selected
but the conditions for measure-
ment are not yet met (direction
indicator not operating, speed
t o o h i g h ) o r t h e m e a s u r e m e n t
phase has ended.
- fl a s h i n g : measurement is in
progress or the message is being
displayed. You can activate the "parking space
sensor" function by pressing but-
ton

Operation

space:
Press button A to activate the
function.
Activate the direction indicator
on the side where the space is to
be measured.
During the measuring, go for-
ward the length of the space, at
a speed less than 12 mph (ap-
p r o x i m a t e l y 2 0 k m / h ) , t o p r e p a r e
for your manoeuvre.
The system then measures the s i z e o f t h e s p a c e .
The system informs you of the
l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a n o e u -
vre via a message on the multi-
function screen accompanied by
an audible signal.

Parking not advised
The function displays the following
types of message: The function deactivates itself auto-
matically:
- when you engage reverse gear,
- when you switch off the ignition,
- fi v e m i n u t e s a f t e r a c t i v a t i o n o f
the function or after the last mea-
surement operation,
- if the vehicle speed exceeds the threshold of 45 mph (approxi-
m a t e l y 7 0 k m / h ) f o r o n e m i n u t e .
If there is a malfunction,
have the system checked
by a CITROËN dealer.
If the lateral distance between your
vehicle and the parking space is too
great, the system may not operate.
- The function remains available
after each measurement and so
can measure a number of places
successively.
- In bad weather or in winter, en- sure that the sensors are not cov-
ered by dirt, or by ice or snow.
- The parking space sensor func- tion deactivates the front parking
sensors during the space mea-
suring phase when you are in
forward gear.

PARKING SENSORS
This system indicates the proximity
of an obstacle (person, vehicle, tree,
g a t e , e t c . ) w h i c h c o m e s w i t h i n t h e
fi e l d o f d e t e c t i o n o f s e n s o r s l o c a t e d
in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (stake,
r o a d w o r k s c o n e , e t c . ) d e t e c t e d i n i -
tially will no longer be detected at
the end of the manoeuvre due to the
presence of blind spots. Visual assistance
This supplements the audible sig-
nal by displaying segments on the
multifunction screen which move
progressively nearer to the vehicle.
When the obstacle is near, the sym-
bol "Danger" is also displayed on the
screen.
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by
a discontinuous audible signal, the
frequency of which increases as the
vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker
( r i g h t o r l e f t ) i n d i c a t e s t h e s i d e o n
which the obstacle is located.
When the distance between the
vehicle and the obstacle becomes
less than approximately thirty centi-
metres, the audible signal becomes
continuous.
This function cannot, in any circum-
stances, take the place of the vigi-
lance and responsibility of the driver.
Rear parking sensors
The system is switched on by en-
gaging reverse gear. This is accom-
panied by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you
exit reverse gear.

Front parking sensors
In addition to the rear parking sen-
sors, the front parking sensors are
triggered when an obstacle is de-
tected in front and the speed of the
v e h i c l e i s s t i l l b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) .
The sound emitted by the speaker
( f r o n t o r r e a r ) i n d i c a t e s w h e t h e r t h e
obstacle is in front or behind.
The front parking sensors are inter-
rupted if the vehicle stops for more
than three seconds in forward gear,
if no further obstacles are detected
or when the speed of the vehicle ex-
c e e d s 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) . Deactivation/Activation of the
front and rear parking sensors
The function is deactivated by press-
ing this button. The indicator lamp
on the button comes on.
Pressing this button again reacti-
vates the function. The indicator
lamp on the button switches off.
The function will be deactivated au-
tomatically if a trailer is being towed
o r a b i c y c l e c a r r i e r i s fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e
fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r o r b i c y c l e c a r -
r i e r r e c o m m e n d e d b y C I T R O Ë N ) . Operating fault
If an operating fault occurs,
when reverse gear is en-
gaged this warning lamp is
displayed on the instrument
panel and/or a message appears on
the screen, accompanied by an au-
d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b l e e p ) .
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
In bad weather or in winter, ensure
that the sensors are not covered
with mud, ice or snow. When re-
verse gear is engaged, an audible
s i g n a l ( l o n g b l e e p ) i n d i c a t e s t h a t
the sensors may be dirty.
When the vehicle is moving at a
s p e e d b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) , c e r -
tain sound sources (motorcycle, lor-
r y , p n e u m a t i c d r i l l , e t c . ) m a y t r i g g e r
the audible signals of the parking
sensor system.
